Heyyy, it's been a while, I'm back to drawing!!! In this case, it's me, so it's a portrait of myself. Why? IDK, maybe I felt pretty and wanted to draw, and this was just the result of self-love xD
But focus on the ⋆⭒˚.⋆details⋆⭒˚.⋆. They turned out so well, I'm so proud ;)))
To be honest, I only draw for the colors, I love coloring. It's one of my favorite parts, and if colored books didn't bleed through to the other page when I use markers, believe me, I'd only use them. I'm so proud that if you had this drawing and saw me around, you'd recognize me, and believe me, that's saying something because I can't draw real people.
I have two fun facts: I have almost the entire outfit from this drawing, I just changed a few things that aren't really like that. The only things I don't have in real life are the sequined bow and the lace-up stockings. Second, the animal I'm hugging is called a "Portuguese man o' war," colloquially known as a bluebottle because of its transparency, which makes it look like a plastic bottle. No, although it looks like a jellyfish, it isn't. It's actually a type of siphonophore, a group of animals closely related to jellyfish, BUT THEY ARE NOT JELLYFISH. A siphonophore is unique because it's composed of a colony of specialized, genetically identical individuals called zooids (clones), with diverse shapes and functions, that work together as a single organism. And although in this drawing I appear to be hugging one of these creatures, I couldn't actually do that, since the tentacles contain stinging nematocysts, microscopic capsules loaded with coiled tubes and barbs that inject a venom capable of paralyzing and killing small fish and crustaceans. While the sting of the Portuguese man-of-war is rarely fatal to humans, it is painful and causes welts on exposed skin. But hey, they're such beautiful organisms that you just want to hug them. Sorry, I'm a biology nerd.
