TW: Impure/Involuntary Regression

!!!Before reading, make sure you’re in the right mindset because I bring up some examples of what can happen when you impurely or involuntarily regress (at least stuff that happens to me personally)!!!

Sometimes, age regression is not like what it is online. Most people only show the positive and happy regression (pure regression). This includes things like coloring, playing with toys, watching cartoons, eating cute foods, and overall being in a happy/positive mindset. But sometimes, it can be the complete opposite.

Regression can also be tantrums and crying and bad memories/flashbacks. It can be having big emotions with a regressed mindset. Sometimes, it’s even rocking back and forth in a corner in your room/closet cause the bad memories are too much, or feeling regressed and staring at the door cause you’re reliving trauma and scared your abuser will come through at any second. Sometimes, it’s hugging a stuffed animal cause it’s your only way to get comfort and love while feeling alone and scared in your regressed headspace.

Regression is not always positive/happy times filled with innocence and childlike wonder. It’s also a trauma response/symptom of mental health issues and it’s not always pretty.
