“i mean, yeah, not like, quicksilver fast or anything. though, i think i’m getting there. it’s pretty dope,” milo grinned. compared to all the cool things everybody else could do, milo felt that his powers often paled in comparison. “but you can do cooler stuff, like control the freaking weather,” he scoffed as if it was laughable titus even thought his powers were even remotely as rad.
“no problem, dude. it’d be nice to have like, cute company on my jogs,” he said. he was looking forward to it, honestly. he’d run a few times with corey but none of the demigods at camp could keep up with him for long periods of time. it would be nice just to have somebody with him on the more scenic hikes through the forest.
after tending to titus’ knee, milo fell back with a ‘fwump’ on the soft bed of grass. the clearing overhead gave him the perfect view of the night sky, a sight he couldn’t see in a polluted city like brooklyn. he’d never even realized how many stars people could actually see from earth until now. “come lie down with me, the view’s fuckin’ amazing,” he said, extending an arm that titus could use as a pillow. maybe it was a little cheesy but milo thought even demigods needed some time just to unwind and revel in the silence for a bit. watch the world go by and not worry about anything else but… just existing in the moment. “pretty crazy to think, after all this, we might be like, actual gods, huh?”
“uhm, but,” titus went on, shaking his head, “i’m no storm. you actually are quicksilver.” he grinned, letting the other tend to his knee and then move his leg gently back off milo’s lap. he watched the other’s hands intently, unable to look up at the other’s face. even though he was grinning, even though this was rather easy, he didn’t want to mess it up. he breathed in through his nose, out through his mouth.
the fact such an attractive guy was complimenting him, and even saying he’d be ‘cute’ company on jogs. it was enough to make his heart race.
“i think i can keep up, though,” he admitted, shrugging a bit. he wasn’t the most confident in anything, but running was the one thing he knew he was pretty good at. he just had an endless stream of stamina, it seemed like, and could just go and go and go.
he chuckled as milo flopped back to the ground, he looked up, following the son of hermes’ gaze. the stars really were beautiful here. he looked back down as the offer was issued, a small blush on his cheeks. the arm was a clear sign. titus hesitated - but only for a moment. he maneuvered so he was laying down. he did use milo’s arm as a pillow, but there was a decent distant between their bodies. he didn’t wanna crowd milo’s space.
“y-you’re right,” he agreed, looking up at the stars from this angle, “it’s...it’s a really beautiful view from here...”
and titus chuckled then. he shook his head.
“you might be,” he admitted, a soft, sad smile on his face.
