can I fucking not wake up in the morning to having drawn some spooky bullshit in my cryptid sketchpad??? no? well fuck
as far as I can tell, this is just a series of broken thoughts
the repetition of ‘help’ is the most concerning
october 5th: “my boyfriend, mothman”
notes: “’Mothman?’: As big as a man, but it’s definitely like a moth. Nothing like the statue that showed up in my internet search, though.”
I have this distinct impression that this mothperson brought a human boy home and had to defend her decision to her mothdad. dunno where that could have come from haha
October 4th: “Facial Hair Cryptid”
Notes: “’Cousin It’: Best description I can give, except this specimen floats around like some detached wizard’s beard. The big googly anime eye really gets to me.”
I’ve decided to rename this thing “Disembodied Wizard Beard”
October 3rd: 👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁👁
Notes: “The Eye 👁 Fish: I don’t know much about this cryptid. I saw it for about 3 seconds before it vanished into the depths of our backyard pond. Thank the stars I haven’t seen it since. Spooky shit.”
Oct 2nd: “Look Mom, Can I Keep It?” Bonus Round
Notes: “Tentactile Petalaur: That’s what the nerdy kid who found this specimen named it. I have no idea why his mom let him keep it--Maybe because it’s only about 4 inches tall and seems relatively harmless?”
October 2: “Look Mom, Can I Keep It?”
Notes: “This is a Puggle-Wug. My cousin brought it home when she found it in this box. My aunt wasn’t pleased, but its name is Duggy and I think it ate the cat last week”
My youngest cousin renamed it to “Puggie-Wug” because she’s adorable.
Link back to Cryptid Core.
I’m late posting this, but I drew it on October 1st and I’m still on track with the official Cryptid Core drawing prompt challenge, so there.
My notes read: “Johnny Appleseed: A curious cryptid I’ve caught in the local orchards a few times. I think there’s more than one, but they all claim the same name. Cool American tall tale, right?”
I’d like to add that Johnny Appleseed likes to drum on his pan loudly every fifth Thursday, and drives the neighborhood crazy. Other than thieving all of the apples, these little guys seem pretty harmless.
look
not every monster i sketch is the kind that is going to tear you apart
sometimes they’re giant bird dogs
just a self portrait i guess
