Even though we never said it to each other, we knew.

Somewhere, there’s a version of us that survived.
Love pt.1
When I first met you, I was so young. I didn't know any better. I didn't know how to love. I wasn't ready for anything serious. We both didn't know how to make a relationship work.
I think about you from time to time. I think about how different I am now and how much I grew up. I wish you could see the person I am today and how much I have changed. I am clean now, have a great job, and have a great relationship with my family. I know you hate me. I hope that you know I have no hate in my heart for you. I have nothing but love for you. That will never change. I will always be here for you, even when you hate my guts.
Letting you go was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I had to let you go so we could grow. Together we couldn't make it work. I hope you're happy and I mean that. I take all the lessons I learned through our relationship to heart. I am thankful and sad. I do miss you.
Heartbreak is how we mature; yet we use the word heartbreak as if it only occurs when things have gone wrong: an unrequited love, a shattered dream… But heartbreak may be the very essence of being human, of being on the journey from here to there, and of coming to care deeply for what we find along the way.
– David Whyte, Consolations: The Solace, Nourishment and Underlying Meaning of Everyday Words

We broke up after 4 years.
I have a million things to talk to you about. All I want in this world is you. I want to see you and talk. I want the two of us to begin everything from the beginning.

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in. That’s what this storm’s all about.
