For a second it looked like she wanted to say something else but then she seemed to think better of it. Even though he hardly liked the smile she gave him any better. Still forcing himself to ignore it, the male gave her a frown when he heard her reply to his question. “Hardly sounds reassuring, does it?!”, he countered. It wasn’t like he was really worried or anything but he knew how important it was to know who exactly he was dealing with. And right now all he knew was that she seemed to stick to rather short replies and he wasn’t entirely sure if she did it because it was what he usually did or because she just didn’t want to tell him too much. “The diner then!”, he finally agreed, not entirely sure if she really would have walked away but now that he was determined to find out some more, he wasn’t going to risk that.
“well if i asked you that question you would probably respond the same. until one side figures out the other we are all in a very neutral ground.” she stated easily, although her expression was one things with her previous statement, his words caused a quick shift like a light switch was hit. “oh you speak my language now -- where are you taking me? i do happen to favor sushi but i enjoy trying new things as well. of course you know,” she moved to his side while she spoke a slow smile crept on to her face thinking of what she could get out of the man. “this means we have a deal. once you deliver your end i will answer whatever you ask, honestly and to my full ability.”
zaraxmorales:
Zara took another bite of her salad and sighed, motioning for the other to sit down. “Yes, of course. I’m not really looking for the talking kind of company but you can sit. It’s a free spot.” The brunette said honestly.
She didn’t look up from her lunch before commenting again. “What are you doing anyways?” Zara asked. “I mean… Is it like, an extra credit thing?” She continued. “Or do you just enjoy cleaning up after others?”
if the smile could have grown it would have with the others response, sitting along side them she let out a soft sigh. nature, it was a benefit of the academy. they didn’t take away all growth of the earth to give an aesthetic. “i’m not sure what you mean -- i threw away my bag of chips. do you not throw away your garbage?” she questioned, letting her head fall back so she could look at the sky. it wasn’t that different, give or take some things that were in valerias.
@zaraxmorales .
she was discovering the ease in getting into ones group, perhaps a benefit was being the species that came from another ‘realm’. it easily attracted those to her why wouldn’t it be a plus if it helped the other way around. the girl was circling the green, not really in search of someone particular more so seeing who was out and about. dumping the bits of crumbs into her mouth just as her eyes landed on a fateful victim. under a tree seemingly minding their own business. tin tossed the bag to the garbage before making her way to girl. “mind if i join you? promise i am great at not talking - i just don’t want to sit alone.”
@lornanieman .
the collection grows, tin waiting outside the banshee classroom. eating a thing called ‘dirt’ consisting of chocolate and whipcream.. cookies maybe? tinuviel didn’t pay attention much, the student was often receiving little treats from others although she was beginning to question if she was going to weigh more than she did when she arrived at this rate. a spoonful was still brought to her lips, staring at the door as it opened. revealing a group of folks leaving. none really interesting enough to go up to ‘till the clicking of shoes caught her attention. all but jumping up tinuviel stepped in tow with the other, offering a friendly smile. “hi - i love your shoes.”

“I mean.. you got a point.” Regina nodded in agreement. Although she was never a big fan of the objects, the dhampir did know what it felt like to not have anything handed to her. She had to work for everything she had. “At the same time.. some people need phones and some people don’t. The only reason why I have one is so my ward or the professor I work for can get in touch with me.” The concept of having rabbits as a form of communication certainly got the dhampir’s attention. “Never really thought that rabbits would be mean creatures.. they look so cute. But no, I have not happened to see one in my time here.”
“does everyone get the option to say no though? even if you live in a small village you should be aloud to have options. it seems very... closed minded to hold power like this in a reachable grab for only those who could ‘afford’ it.” civilizations adapted differently, it was something tinuviel would have to learn. obviously in their home there was also some form of ‘class’ but somethings were a given. “you know how short people can be meanier than tall? like a prey making itself look bigger to the predator kind of deal. they’ll be around, if the queen allows those to come and go.”

Roxi had planned on spending her downtime planning a party for later, and of course, snacking. Instead, her peace and quiet was interrupted by a rather pretty stranger standing before her. The dhampir raised her brow, a twisted look of wonder and confusion written all over her face. “Uh, thanks, babes,” she choked out. Looking away from who she now knew as Tinuviel, she took a quick sip of her water before turning her attention back to the other. “The name’s Roxi. But, uh, tell me, you always this nice to people you just met? You’re comin’ off like a candy-coated gummy bear. Sweet enough to rot teeth.”
“oh i’m nice to everyone i meet, but you’re the first dhampir i’ve met and i can’t help but lay it on heavy. i mean how can i not? in general you all are amazing. taking on a roll of a guardian, excelling in speed - strength - wit.” she dared herself to add ‘you could easily remove moroi and become the dominate species but you guard.’ but tinuviel bit her tongue, instead her lips twisted into a large smile. “it’s lovely to meet you ms.roxi -- is a gummy bear like a gummy worm? i haven’t tried the first yet but the gummy worms were easy to access once the wolves knew food is all my a weakness.”

@esotcric .
there was no hesitation in the elves steps, tossing the now empty bag of blueberry mini muffins away, her eyes were set on the ‘dhampirs’ a magician pointed them out to her and she was set on making friends with at least one. so far she had a perfect collection of species forming and the girl was oddly enjoying it. she put on the usual large and friendly smile, tinuviel managing it perfectly no thanks to a full stomach. “hi! i’m tinuviel - i just wanted to say i think you are very talented.”
efrainglynwarren:
It seemed that Tin would not wait for an answer as her feet crossed the threshold, bringing the noise of a crunching snack bag with her. Efrain raised a single stern eyebrow at her. “Do not get that infernal flavor dust on my furniture, and you may.” He gestured to the plush chairs that sat across from his desk, or to the table and chairs across the room below a line of laden bookshelves. “Have you done something to warrant such close babysitting from your guardian?” he asked as she entered, softly teasing rather than reprimanding. He had seen all number of guardian-ward dynamics on campus and it wouldn’t have surprised him if Tinuviel had gotten an overprotective one. Or that Tinuviel had indeed done something. Or, of course, both.
“oh don’t worry i’ll lick it up if i do.” she teased in response, though she made note to keep the bag under whatever chip she was engrossing herself with. finding one of the empty desks closest to the professor she tucked her legs safe and sound underneath herself, flashing an innocent smile in his direction. “she told me to be honest with her when we first met so i did... but i do believe if someones job is to protect you, you should listen to them.” as best as one can. given her current snack it definitely preoccupied the elf from wandering off. “you know, i think you two would hit it off.”
thecadedawson:
“I always like to be superior!”, Cade clarified with all his usual confidence or, what he knew quite a few people would say, arrogance. Not that he really gave a damn though. He knew what he was, who he was, and if someone had a problem with that, it was none of his business. Hearing her comment about them considering the elves a threat though, he raised his eyebrows once again. “Should we consider you a threat?”, he asked, knowing that they certainly were powerful. And he never trusted anybody just like that anyway, she was at least right with that. “What happened to ‘I answer your questions if you answer mine’..?”, he finally asked, still considering that option though even though he didn’t let it show. It certainly could be interesting after all…
she wanted to say she just pointed that out but she simply smiled up at him, slowly nodding with an ‘mhm’ like a child listening to a child ranting. at least he was tall, he could get the snacks she put on the top shelf, oh how she wouldn’t need to climb to get them. “i don’t know.” answering his following question with a shrug, tinuviels stance relaxed daring herself to sigh at his constant chatter. “are you going to take my offer or shall i walk away?” tinuviel stated plainly, her friendly tone faint for once. playing was only fun if it was going somewhere and he seemed to circle the same drain.

“I would never!” Karissa was quick to defend, jumping up from her seat to practically bound over to her friend, books in hand. “It’s just…this whole school setting keeps me so busy. I’ve been told to get a cell phone, but I’m just worried I’d break it.” They seemed so fragile and so many people had cases over them–further evidence that they could be broken. “Did you steal this from a prince? He’ll be cross with you if he catches you.” But she eyed it, expression becoming rather devious. “Unless we eat all the evidence first.” She took the cupcake with a grin, taking a bite. “Ugh, the food here is so sugary but it is so good.” Wiping some icing from her lips, she raised a brow at her friend. “What have you been up to lately? It feels like ages.”
a soft ah passed her, giving a glance to see what had been filling her friends time. nothing that interested her enough to question so her gaze landed back on their face. “are you really that busy? some of this stuff my father taught us when we were freshly planted seeds my brother would quote it -- oh just remember to charge it you should be fine.” she encouraged, giving the advice like an expert but she broke her second one already. wanting to test the strength of the object she tossed it against the wall. “he may be a prince but he is not my prince.” she responded with a large smile as karissa took a bite, gladly enjoying the downward spiral they could get themselves on. “my stars where have you been all my life? i seriously can’t get another elf to understand the beauty in this human cuisine -- a magician recently caught my attention. he’s become a shadow for elves and well, it’s very clear the shadows are mine to rule so.”

Azaria had always been one to feign the idea that she showed no weakness. Perhaps on many occasions it was true, considering her age and how long that she bad been walking the earth. Yet somehow, the other woman seemed to see right through that. She had cared for so many in her life, and it had caused her nothing but pain. But, it wasn’t just her employment that caused her to want to protect Tin. For so many years, she had found herself hiding behind the walls of her home and didn’t find herself compelled to let anyone in. Then, she had met Sebastian and now the elf. “Sounds delicious.” Azaria nodded, being completely truthful. Bonding. The thought would used to make her shudder, but it elicited a very small but uncharacteristic smile instead. “We are indeed bonded, aren’t we? Every bond is indeed different… it would make sense for us, wouldn’t it?”
tinuviel waited till azaria took a bite before following suit, she was truly a creature of delight. the creation gone in a few bites before her attention turned back to the brunette, swallowing down the remaining bits. “we are. aren’t we?” she repeated in a the same tone, weren’t they odd to say the least. how tin couldn’t imagine what the future would hold if she’d been given another guardian. what if they were picky in eating? “i’d like to go to get sushi too, if you aren’t needed here. i wanna try that mochi this time i heard it was good. have you had it? you can get some too.”
xseefxre:
“Since human technology is limited, this is the best we could do so far. Maybe in the future, we’ll come up with something that doesn’t need so much charging.” She explained it the best she could. Those notions were so ingrained in society she never imagined explaining them. “Oh, you have to click that option on the configurations menu.” She took the phone and showed her how to do it. In the end, the numbers appeared in the top right corner. “They’re not so bad. You can take photos easily, watch cute animals on YouTube and play mind-numbing games when you’re bored. We rarely use them just for communication.” She clicked on the camera app and stroke her arm out. “Smile.” She said and snapped a photo of them both.
tinuviel dared to question why not assist the humans then, sure some other species have intertwined their way into life as they are living now but why not help further push for better inventions. gently influence the humans the slightest bit more? staying quiet however, dark hues followed the screen as new things opened up. a card was given to her, she assumed it was the ‘money’ they explained it roughly. unlike a handful of elves attending she’d never encountered this... realm. “hm?” she finally responded, the thoughts for once getting the best of her, tin caught just in time to ‘smile’ as she was told. “that’s nice... photos i mean.”
asherxclarke:
Asher’s brow furrowed, and he looked down at himself before glancing back over at her. They were several feet apart, he hardly considered that to be hovering, but he supposed there was no point in arguing. She seemed frustrated enough, he didn’t care to delve deeper into it than that. “They’re the names of people and companies. You asked who invented those,” he explained slowly, one eyebrow rising as he tried to get a solid read on her. Stupid, mean, or an odd combination of the two?
“they don’t have better names for humans?” she responded, honestly those were rather lame creations. even a few of the other species were rather uninteresting in their names. although she could chalk that up to taste, hers was a bit more ‘extreme’. “i thought these were suppose to be helpful i’ve just found them annoying. the instructions only get you started.”
thecadedawson:
Still seeing the bright smile on her face, Cade wasn’t entirely sure what she was thinking about him but right now probably wasn’t the right time to test if he was able to read the thoughts of elves as well. At least not when it came to something this useless. “Never said you were any special, so…”, he only replied with a shrug. There were enough others who were so excited that they’d openly voice something like this after all. “When there’s some kind of threat, you hardly spent your time chasing shadows”, the male finally countered with raised eyebrows. After all she was right, even there had been rumors, no one had been able to say for sure that elves existed. “So you’re blindly following whatever that queen of yours says without even questioning it, hm..?! Rather sounds like you guys were too content to actually care about anything else…”
“so...you like to feel superior in a conversation.” she stated, he was going to deny it surely. why not? he was obviously someone who didn’t like to be ‘obvious’, probably enjoyed the upper hand in most things. doesn’t like anything out of his control. black was a solid color and his entire attire was that color. as obvious as he was, he at least he some mystery to him. “you consider us a threat.” tinuviel responded, hands coming out of her pockets and crossing behind her back. “i never said that.” repeating the same tone he used when he said the similar words a moment ago, a slow smile crept onto her face. he made her think of a caterpillar. “do you have food? i don’t usually talk this much without some snack.” admitting with a glance over him of course he didn’t. “honestly, if you would like straight answers you can buy me dinner and i will tell you anything.”
lonclyhcartsclub:
“That’s not what I me- never mind.” Regina sighed, knowing that she wasn’t going to get through to the other woman. Regardless of the annoyance bubbling up inside of her, the conversation was certainly intriguing. The brunette raised a brow at the mention of the phone. While she may have been an exceptional fighter, she never really found herself becoming involved in human technology. She knew enough to contact Civan and that was probably it. “Hm, well — guess I stand corrected. Phones are fucking weird anyway. If I had known that.. shit. Guess you learn something new every day.” Regina wasn’t really sure why the conversation had turned to bunny rabbits, of all things, but at this point she wasn’t going to question it. “Why rabbits?”
“it’s a smart invention but why does everything here come with such... an odd price? to hold it to a high value when it could easily be available for all seems like a selfish mindset.” she stated, slowly leaning back into the mention, tinuviel may understand the most basic of the animal instinct but thing extra ... demand? it didn’t feel like a beneficial evolutionary thing. “they a messengers? have you not encountered any yet? actually it’s probably better you didn’t sometimes they are very rude and are great at getting you to owe them one.”
