Hello everyone. I am Hunter, the owner of this account, and I feel as if the blood twins from the sun and moon show have been incredibly under utilized and i want to fix that, and what is the best way to do so?

CREATE A FANMADE SHOW ABOUT THEM

This show idea has been sparked by that idea, and I and @fandoms10v3r or @reboundofadazzlingstar talking about how sad their end really is.

The summary is:

The twins had died, everything had been quiet, and everyone had forgotten about them, but the blood twins came back, they remembered everything, and now they wander around trying to find meaning and how they came back to life after dying.

Me when I'm in an unsatisfying plot device competition and the sun and moon show shows up:

So let me get this straight. The setup is:

Ancient gods paralleling the main cast with extremely strong magic

So strong that it shatters the device meant to record it

So strong that they are able to use it BETWEEN DIMENSIONS.

They have a problem. Their life god is in a magic time-dilation coma

They establish that nobody can get them out of it because it'd be too complicated and pose too many risks to time itself, not even the other gods.

And the fucking SOLUTION?

Tell the one guy that doesn't practice magic

hasn't practiced magic for years

Has memory problems that have inevitably erased parts of that knowledge

That guy

To use magic

to get the god out of the time coma

It works

Are we fucking serious right now.

Is the implication that he's just stronger than GOD magically? Stronger than Dahlia, the insect warrior who's been practicing magic all his life, stronger than Sun who's objectively practiced more than he has and has been said to have a lot of magical potential, stronger than the LITERAL GODS of this dimension? Can we be internally consistent for five minutes PLEASEEEE.

Why not have the solution be mechanical? It would even be foreshadowed by Moon being able to lockpick the magic book even when Dahlia and Sun couldn't! If it's a time-dilation thing, and the risk is time being altered forever, then have Moon do complicated math on a time crunch! What if he used his portal tech to teleport him and the life god into a dimension with the opposite time flow to cancel out the process, just long enough so he could beg them to help his friends, and the god chooses to undo the spell themselves in order to discipline the lesser gods? Why does it always have to be a mary-sue solution with zero foreshadowing or buildup?

I feel this. I really wasn't expecting it to be Moon's nonexistent magic saving the day. However, I kinda think maybe it wasn't just his magic doing it. During his time trying to get the runes right and doing the ritual he was talking out loud about his hopes, his "prayers", so to speak. He said "god, I wish I was braver." And while he definitely wasn't praying to the king of gods, it was super close to the king of gods and I think that that prayer so close to him got him to wake up at least a little, to send some of his energy to Moon's "prayers". I always like the idea of a deities' powers being tied to being believed in and prayed to.

What I really hope is that Moon isn't gonna suddenly get over his distaste and fear of magic. I don't want him to just be using it willy nilly now. It was only a last ditch thing because he had no other options and it was runes which feel safer than trying to do verbal and hand movement based spells. I don't want him training with Dahlia and Sun on this.

Honestly, I really do like the interpretation that Moon was accidentally tapping into a higher power of some kind, because he has done that before (Taurus coming down to talk to him after he freaks out and runs into the woods to scream into the sky is a good example, as well as star power in general being a god-like power that he didn’t know was connected to the astrals, and his relationship with the Devil from The Bible). Having a science-y character who somehow has a very unscientific connection to deities IS a great concept, but I don’t think the writers had that in mind at all when constructing the resolution.

There’s been a lot of interesting themes like that that seem to be implied within the show, but then the writers will say on stream that “oh no we just needed a way to move on to the next arc” or “we don’t like *insert character they literally wrote* so we got rid of them” or “this just brought in the most views so we did it” and it just makes it so hard for me to believe they put any effort into their story at all. They don’t care about themes or motifs or emotional through lines, they care about YouTube memberships and

And getting views and stream donations. Like the entire astral arc, one of the most important components to the main lore, was dropped because it didn’t get enough views. Which is also why they keep making Y/N episodes, because they appeal to a wider Audience who don’t care about the show but will watch a video titled “Sun and Y/N fall in LOVE?!”. It’s why the thumbnails border on elsagate or is just complete clickbait that has nothing to do with the actual episode.

If I were to do a full TSAMS rewrite, I’d love to include Moon’s connections to deities as a character trait, but in the canon show, they don’t even have enough foresight to plan three episodes ahead, let alone across the whole thing.
