   He really should be in bed right now. He knew he had a long shift waiting for him in the morning but he just couldn’t get comfortable in his bed. He figured maybe a walk would help. Tobias always loved the outdoors and it did help him relax and clear his head.  He glanced to the person who’s shadow he caught sight of, “Out a little late, no?” He chuckled knowing he had no room to speak himself.

Vaughn stood tight-lipped, his piercing gaze focused on a streetlight in the distance. He’d gone outside for fresh air, the crisp wind filling him with a newfound surge of energy. Even so, his tolerance for people was limited, as usual. He let out a sharp breath, turning to address a person near. “I must ask that you refrain from weighing me down with any personal problems you may be having. Even I understand that everybody’s going through something awful right now.”

   “Always oh so charming.” Tobias stated as leaned back against the wall. He needed a breath of fresh air before he went back in. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, “Although, I hardly consider asking if you’re pulling a 12 hour shift as well as something of a personal issue. I mean, I am a little tired but I don’t mind working. I understand how serious the issue at hand is.”

Small Facts:  name: tobias shacklebolt former house: ravenclaw sexuality: bisexual  age: 24 occupation: healer

Tobias is the grandson of Kingsley Shacklebolt. So growing up, there was already a giant weight on his shoulders to stand out and be different, be great. 

At the age of 14, Tobias had to move in with his grandparents which didn’t make things any easier or better. Tobias’ parents were both well known and powerful Aurors. They two died on a mission together. They were hit with the killing curse. Although Voldemort and blood purity was no longer as well accepted as it used to be, the beliefs still lingered long after his death. They’re just more subtle than before. Tobias’ parents always made sure to remind him of that. 

When his parents passed away, Tobias became very withdrawn from everyone. He quit Quidditch and began to just stay out of everyone’s way which in turn made him feel alone. He was angry all the time and he tended to snap being as he had just barely turned 14, death was not something he knew how to deal with. The anger just grew when he learned the name of the person that killed his parents and the fact that they were not caught and to this day, they were never found. Thankfully, his grandfather was a patient man and his grandmother very loving. They understood that Tobias was angry that he had lost his parents so soon and they allowed their grandson time to cope.

It took a very long time for Tobias to go back to his normal self and even so afterwards, there was evident differences in the boy. After Hogwarts, he attempted to become an Auror but his grandfather had let his intentions for doing so slip and in so, he was denied. 

Tobias didn’t know what to do but spending time accompanying his grandmother who liked to volunteer at St. Mungos awakened something in him. He liked helping and he liked being able to be the reason that someone had hope. This led him to become a healer which ironically, helped him heal himself.  It also took years for him to let go of the grudge he held against the person who was never found who was guilty of his parents’ early demise but the more he helped people, the more his anger slipped away. 

Tobias didn’t know what to do the first time someone rushed into the hospital in a panic of no longer being able to perform magic. He tried his very best to help ease them but then it was starting to become a regular thing. Tobias doesn’t quite know what is going on but he is working hard to help figure it out in any way he can.
