since there are people who are interested in requests i made this pinned post so its easier to know when i accept them. the status will be shown in the bio of the blog ↑
currently, i don't accept new requests! i'm sorry!
i'm adding more information under "keep reading" . please read it before requesting. thank you!
a few things to take note before requesting a drawing:
keep requests appropriate and vocal synth related.
if requests are closed and you send one, i will keep them unanswered in the inbox. they are not ignored, but please know it might take a short (or a long) while between rounds.
since i'm getting a lot of pairings, i will filter them between rounds. there are many ships asked for (lets go!) but i'm running out of ideas of what to draw aaaa,,,, i also prefer the page to have variety of drawings and not pairs only.
really happy to see you post again! i loved your vocaloid stuff several years back and seeing how your style grew has been such a treat. your art is always so cute and creative!
anooonnnnn!!!!!! TToTT
thank you so much for writing to me such kind words!! i think one of my biggest worries is that one day my art grows in a way people might not like , so i'm happy you do!!
thank you for enjoying it through the years, i hope i get to surprise you with new art in the future! ✩
Sorry if you’ve already answered, but are you okay with RinxLen? No harm meant!
hi anon, are you asking me if i'm okay with the ship itself, or okay to make a request art? (i'm sorry my reading is not 100%)
i'm okay with rinlen! i personally see them as two versions of one soul (same person?) so i don't ship them, but i don't mind it when others do. each creator has their own interpretation of the kagamines and its always interesting to see 🙏
A few Kaitos... I wanna put him as my widgets , I LOVE YOUR ART SMM!!!
hi anon!! it's been a while since you've sent the request (thank you!), but if you're still around, here are background transparent version of the kaitos. i never set widgets myself so i'm not sure what kind of art is good for that, so i hope it's useful...! feel free to edit it however
can u do a tutorial of how do u draw faces/bodies pls :)
hi anon! thank you for being interested in how i draw.
it ended up long, so everything is under "keep reading". please take in mind that the drawings under the cut are drawn as anime bases (no hair or clothes, just overall shape of body).
[before reading, i want to say that's i'm not a professional at drawing or human anatomy. these are my drawing takes, but some things might not be correct, so don't treat this post as facts]
this post has a tutorial + further explanation.
head and face
faces i draw have a shape that resemble an upside down egg. its upper part is where the hair goes. the lower part is for the face. the face elements proportions follow common anime proportions that take inspiration from real life human's faces.
the faces i draw usually have bigger eyes and youthful look, but these proportions can also work for other faces types. smaller eyes with longer/wider jaw go better with more mature look.
when i draw heads i usually start with an overall line / shape that can tell me where the face is facing. i add the eyes and then the rest of the features and fix the cheeks.
it's wrong to do probably, but i change the position of the ears when i want to show the face is looking up/down.
the nose should be between the eyes. however, since anime faces are mostly flat the nose stands out, so when the face is not facing front the nose position in the face changes and can get closer/farther away from the eyes. i'm sorry that the example is not 2D, but i think it'd be easier to see in 3D.
it might feel like the upper part of the head (scalp?) is too big, but that's okay because the hair covers everything
for the eyes, i divide them to lashes, the eye itself, skin and eyebrow. the eyes have an oval shape. i don't let the upper part of the eye to be seen unless the expression is surprised, if looking down the whole head looks down and not only eye.
body and posing
the body is usually divided to (kind of) two halves (head to legs / legs). the longer/shorter the halves while the smaller/bigger the head make it look more mature or young. there are areas in the body that due to fat/muscle/bone are a bit more wide (blue arrows) which gives the body more curves.
the order of how i draw the body is dynamic, but after the head i either draw the arms or the chest.
feminine characters have smaller shoulders and body, while being a bit more curvy. their ribcage is a bit more narrow, so the torso is smaller. when i draw chests, i use diamond shapes to help place them over the ribcage area.
the arm is made of two equal long parts + hand. the wide area in the middle of the arm when its open is due to bone placement. when its closed, it's because of the skin folding with the arm. the inner arm also has a slight curve for skin/muscle.
except for noting i don't draw fingernails, i'm not sure how to explain hands because they're weird (ww). i think what helped me get better with hands is treating them as a bunch of cylinders and not care much about how they look. this might be an easy-to-follow hands (and feet) tutorial (miyuli).
=
the leg is also made of two equal long parts + foot. it has an overall shape of two waves (outer leg) and smaller waves + bump between (inner leg).
the slight bump inward is for the knee when looking at it from front view. the knee itself is made of the two long leg bones + kneecap (and muscles), so when the leg folds, they all face front which gives the knee a more box/flat shape. the curvy area underneath the knee (blue arrow) is the calf muscle.
[a bit about posing]
drawing the whole body together can be sometimes frustrating, as some parts can end up longer/shorter than they should.
when i want to have a better flow or draw something that might be more hard, i start with a stickman that has the same half/half proportions and draw the body over it. i try to not put too much detail or effort in the guidelines (so stickman is good) because it can confuse me more than help.
=================
i think that's it...! i hope i explained it well, but feel free to ask if you have questions.
some people are more comfortable studying by watching videos, so you can view videos of how i draw the body, limbs and heads in those links (with some extra drawings i removed here because it got too long). there are also a few speedpaints of existing drawings here.
i myself am still learning and make a lot of mistakes. i've been recently enjoying this channel's shorts (excaliblader) that cover how to draw better based on human anatomy. if it interests you, maybe give it a try!
