Children's ability to create without consideration is a beautiful thing. The goal for the Harlem Holiday Art Day event, November 22, 2014, is to create a space for children in Harlem and their parents to come together and create artwork, learn art terminology and take home art supplies to continue their exploration. The holiday season is a time for giving and celebration. Instead of giving children toys or video games this holiday, why not give them the opportunity for creativity. What you donate will be used to acquire the art supplies the children will take home with them, secure a space for the event, and provide a stipend for community assistants. Why is this important to me? Art, in it's various forms, has always been a part of my life and has been a way for expression and learning. Working with multiple arts institutions and organizations has allowed me to see the profound impacts that an interaction with can have for young children. The Harlem Holiday Art Day is my way to create and provide a space for Art, Harlem, Children and Education to exist in one space.
