Digimon Secret Santa ‘21

Hey, @timelessanimo ! Huzzah, I was your Secret Santa! My apologies if it’s coming your way a tad later than you’d want, but I hope you enjoy!

You implied that the underrated Digimon series deserved some extra love, so I put some thought into it. At the time, I was currently watching Inuyasha and that’s when I realized: I can create a parallel digi-verse based off the show! So I picked out five Digimon characters and began my project.

I’m not very fond of digital art and I DEFINITELY don’t have proper art supplies… (contemplates why I joined a secret santa I’m not capable of) Anywho, I did my best and I’m actually kind of digging it… except the colors, but it was required so I couldn’t pass it up lmao. As you can see, there are five characters just like the main five from Inuyasha, along with their outfits! Can you guess who is who? I’ll leave a cheat sheet at the bottom. Bonus, Digimon hasn’t really had a female lead yet, so I made one of the digi-girls the main attraction x)

Now, I realize you may not know anything about Inuyasha. No worries, I kind of forced my own preferences on this project so that would be my fault xD As a solution, here is a short little fanfic of how this unique digi crew came to be! (and yes, it will be based off of the Inuyasha plot)

A Digi Memory

In a small, humble temple, a young boy quietly paced around while quietly humming to himself. The day felt fresh and bright for a perfect school day. In fact, news spread that his tiny crush had a small surprise for him. He bid his folks farewell as he walked out the doors, when suddenly a small glow glistened nearby the corner of his eye. Curious, the young boy came closer to the light to find a mysterious object lying on the ground. He picked it up and it quickly shoved bright rays of light up his face as he fell backwards. He stared into the device. Just when he was about to put it down, a blinking arrow was leading him towards the well in front of him. Assuming it was nothing, the young boy soon enough went inside the well. Nothing happened. Just as he was about to climb back up, gravity pulled him down. The floor started to disappear and the area around him appeared to be a space and time continuum. Before he could process anything else, he black out.

“HEYY!! OOII!! HELLOW!?!? WAKE UP!” A hoarse voice was screaming into his ear and his face felt slightly swollen. He groaned as his eyesight continued to try and come into focus. Around him he was surrounded by green friends and luscious tree forests. Processing this, he suddenly jumped up all startled. “Wh-What in the…?” He looked in front of him and there lied what appeared to be a woman with thick pink hair up to her middle back and a white hakama. She absentmindedly stared into his eyes. They stared at each other for a long moment before turning away. Breaking the silence, the boy asked, “Where am I?” Instead of an answer, the girl avoided his question and asked, “What’s your name?” Annoyed, he answered, “Henry,” he looked at her while she was sniffing the air. “Where am I???” She turned to him and said, “the Digital World.” Henry’s eyes widened with confusion and they ended up exchanging a few questions and answers, along with a few quarrels here and there. Henry learned that the girl who found him unconscious was a young girl named Eri Karan. More importantly what he had was a Digivice - and with a Digivice, comes a Digimon.

For a few days, the girl helped Henry traverse the hostile DigiWorld and soon enough they met a little boy with a bright orange hat that could fit thousands of dollars. He was small, but he had a playful heart and wanted nothing more than to be useful to those he cared for. He called himself Tommy. Eri would tease him and make fun of his dumb aspirations, but when it mattered, she knew what the priorities were.

Joining them on their conquest, the three soon met another young male who appeared to be quite strong in the mind and also with the “ladies”. One could call him a ladies man! He constantly flirted with Eri whether it be with pick-up lines or full on physical touch. Henry felt a strange pinch into his heart and would constantly get into quarrels with the blonde Eri simp who calls himself T.K.

The pack of four was pretty set when suddenly another girl stumbled upon them who was quite the powerful fighter and she also knew a little origin story of the mysterious “digivice”. They all called her Yoshino.

Henry laid down on the green field and closed his eye as the breeze swept through his thin hairs. Slowly the breeze came to a complete stop. When he opened his eyes, all he saw was a plain white ceiling fan and Terriermon all up in his face. “Dang it,” he sighs as he groans into his pillow. “Just another dream.”

Yeah, that was kind of rushed since I did this at like 4AM, but I hope it helped a bit with getting a little familiar with this trope of mine! I wish you happy holidays and stay Digimon strong!

LuNa Week 2021

His Strawhat

Surrounded by bickers, lies, deceit

I feel uneasy.

In these heavy seas, there’s only me.

These weightless berries

My dry tears

Those mocking pirates

How I despise them.

My fist clenches as I smile through the facades

My head spins when I stare into their hideous grins

My everything hurts.

I’m tired and cold.

The sea breeze sends chills through my bare body

The ship rocks like a baby’s cradle

Except it’s not putting anyone to sleep - at least, not for me.

I stare off into the dark sky

No stars out or any kind of glow

The only accompaniment are the undersea howls miles away

In the end, there’s only me.

In the end, trust no one.

Years of fighting reality

Thinking I can pull through

Hoping for change

Hard work pays off, right?

Thoughts like these swirl through my mind in nights like these.

I hold myself tighter in the unsympathetic blanket

A tear slowly walks it’s way down

Followed by another

And a couple of sniffles

My vision blurs

My heart sinks.

Darkness caves in.

Suddenly,

A soft glow fills the dark ventures of my blurred vision

It wraps around the dark corners

Crouching in front of me

I wipe my eyes.

Strutting eyes stare into my pudgy face

Before I speak my reflexes punch the figure before me

He falls back

His face facing the dark sky

Entangled in his presence

My heart warm

My mind relaxed

My body calm like the still waters

He sits up and stares again

Empty stares

Empty thoughts

Just us

Not even the stars or moon present

He reaches up to his head

Yellow seams

Red pillows

Thin patches

His strawhat.

Leaning in, he places it on top of my head

No words are needed

My restless mind snaps out of it

That’s right.

It’s all in the past

The battle has been won

It’s really over

My mind flowing with flashbacks

I grab the hat

I hold it tight

I whisper soft words

Too tired to hear myself

My eyes close

And the last thing I see

is my hand on the strawhat

And his hand on mine.

This is his strawhat,

Our treasure.

A/N: Hey, sorry this was kind of rushed ;w; I wanted to go for a poem format, so it’s kind of a freestyle?? But It’s pretty narrative at the same time. This takes place during a humble night on the Merry. During this time, she’s reminiscing over her past with the Arlong Pirates until Luffy comforts her with his strawhat. I really enjoyed this prompt and I’m super excited to participate in the rest of them. Happy LuNa Week!!
