OPEN STARTER. location: the factory rooftop.
he’d been drinking the night before. that’s how most of his visits to the factory usually panned out. alec would show up, schmooze his way into conversation with some of the most interesting, upcoming figures at the place & then do his own thing for the rest of the night ( with company too, depending on the evening ). though, he couldn’t quite remember what that was this time. he could gather that he’d definitely had one too many– he could still feel the effects, his vision slightly blurred ( even though he’d been too drowsy after first waking up to notice his glasses were missing ) & a headache he could only hope would smooth over in a couple of hours. he was on the daybed alone, which indicated that he’d either passed out by himself or whoever he was with skipped out on him before he realized. alec groaned, resting back against the head of the bed. taking a moment to come around, the first thing he could notice was the morning sky. it’s varying shades of blue & orange softened by his lack of focus, melting together to create something beautiful. “woah,” he said in awe, speaking out to no one but himself. “you don’t see that every day.”
Adelaide was sitting at her usual corner of the rooftop. It was her favourite place to come, day or night, to sit and draw. Today’s subject of her drawing was a guy who seemed to have been passed out on the daybed nearby. As she drew the rough sketch, she wondered who he was, what he had been up to the night before, what brought him here. She didn’t draw people very often, but this stranger was a nice change. She was only about halfway through her sketch when he began to grow restless and woke up. With her notepad leaning against her knees, she put her pencil down and watched him with careful eyes. She watched as he opened his mouth and spoke, she assumed to no one in particular. It was still early (arguably too early) and there was nobody else around other than the two of them. “No. No you don’t.” She wasn’t entierly sure what he was referring to.
