The Pomegranate theatre is one of the presenting house's in chesterfield as it is owned by the city council and is also funded by the arts council, it counts as a presenting house as it does not create it's own productions it uses other dramatic company's to create full productions for them to present on there stage, with it being a presenting house it has also incorporated a cinema inside the theatre that is cheaper than the actual cinema and show past shows that have been played at the national theatres as well as some older films. this company markets itself to larger audiences as they present there productions to the outer audience so it uses strategies that would be more effective to larger groups of people.
An Introduction to QDOS Creates
Qdos Creates has been delivering performances, workshops and accredited courses regionally and nationally for young people and adults since 1995. We strive to create innovative work that is challenging, informative, inspirational and unlocks creative potential, empowering people to make informed decisions about their lives. Our work has explored identity and aspirations, tackling issues such as peer pressure, bullying, sexual health, drug and alcohol misuse, smoking, homophobia, anti-social behavior, racism, domestic abuse, arson and hoax calls, all delivered with our trademark high energy and honesty - have a look at some of our productions in the performance section. Our audience is varied and always expanding - we deliver projects for public, private and voluntary organisations, and work in arts centres, specialist young peoples’ centres, theatres, prisons, libraries, community centres and at conferences. The company has been going for around 21 years presenting performances, workshops and accredited courses regionally and nationally for people of all ages. The company’s ethos and wants are to create work that is challenging and informative for its audiences's,this then makes it inspirational and helps people be creative and discover new things about their selves while empowering people to make important life decisions. The company was originally set up by 4 people, but they now employ freelance artists, visual arts and craft staff, musicians ,directors, a company called wild wood activities and a board of trustees.
Ways in Which the Pomegranate Theatre markets their company
Posters/Flyers- Posters and Flyers are one of the main ways that the Pomagrante markets the shows they are putting on there as a lot of there audience still hasn't made it so far in to the technology era and they still find out about shows with flyers and posters around chesterfield but these flyers and posters can make it quite far like they can make it to places like Sheffield which is a good half an hour journey so the news and information about the shows makes it quite fair.
community connections- the pomegranate theatre uses connections to public community events as well as local stores as they use them to put posters up of upcoming shows as well as offering flyers of some of upcoming shows that will be on at the pomegranate, they also offer special offers for community groups who book on mass with a lot of people to get them to come to some of there shows as well.
social media- they use social media to advertise to the younger audience members that they are trying to market themselves to since the younger generation are in to the social media a lot and it also allows them to spread word of there productions quite far as well since social media can be seen all across the world and it can gather the attention of people if it is advertised correctly.
Ways in Which QDOS markets their company
Word of Mouth and Events- word of mouth is the most favorite option used by Qudos as they always make sure that they advertise there work during one of there workshops such as the one we had today as she mentioned many of the current projects that are being produced and created at the moment, they also use events to use word of mouth or show to larger audiences what they do as this is also part of there word of mouth strategies.
Social Media- Social media is a very important way that Qudos markets themselves to people as it allows people that they have maybe not met before and they can see there work on pictures or videos that might be on social media allowing them to be involved and know about Qudos and they can share that social media account to others they might know which then further spreads the name of Qudos among people.

Partnerships and Relationships- Qudos relies on its partners as well as there relationships with companies as well as for example care homes and prison's as they need a good relationship with these types of companies as they need these companies to keep coming back for workshops so it can keep Qudos as well as the needing partnerships between partnerships with companies allows Qudos to market through that company.
Flyers and Business cards- This way that Qudos does there marketing it allows them to take these leaflets and business cards to be spread to other people as they will be taken by some of these people who know people who could use a workshop or a commission for a piece, flyers are also good for there marketing at events as most people will throw away the flyer when they get back home however some people will consider something like this of a business.
My Opinion on QUDOS’s Marketing Strategies
My opinion on Qudos marketing strategies are that all of these strategies makes them very flexible with the way they can market themselves so if one of them starts to fails them another might be doing really well for them and it also helps them make sure that they are stable and allows them to keep marketing themselves.
My Opinion on the Pomegranate's Marketing Strategies
It seems that the Pomegranates marketing strategies are based on getting more people for a large audience to see so more people can come and buy tickets to there productions since they need to make money to host and maintain more productions after they have done the one they have just completed in the theatre, they also seem to have a large range of members in their target audience since they use social media as well as posters and flyers so it reaches both ends of the age range from young to old.
