“I have the choice of being constantly active and happy or introspectively passive and sad. Or I can go mad by ricocheting in between.”
— Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath

we were searching for ourselves in each other
ta tìm mình trong kẻ khác
Loneliness for you is like a mountain that you need to climb over, right? But loneliness is like a wave, Ravia. You can never get over it. You may be able to swim with the current to stay afloat, but you can never overcome the waves.
Hye-yeon Jin… whenever he thought of her, the dark and deep Jinseong river would appear before his eyes; the cold winds that gently touched his body and cut his heart, the sound of the softly flowing water that wreaked havoc in his senses.
It was still fresh like it’d happened just yesterday. And why not? For she was the woman who had given him hope only to fiercely beat him back to the bottomless abyss.
The sight of her trembling back would forever linger in his heart. When he closed his eyes, something dropped down. He was not sure if it was his tears or soul. His love came to an end. It was disgustingly arduous, painful, and desperately tempting.
With only the moon as their witness, two broken hearts cried for a great love that had finally run its final course, never to be together again.
“I’m in my prime”
The long-forgotten pain came back. Only humans know that sort of ache
The embers dull within me, but I am tranquil. There is no bitterness left. What irony to live yet again, dying with thanks on my lips for the very man who slaughters me anew.
(...) in the past I wanted to be alone for reasons of coquetry, stupidity, laziness, (...) today I am alone from necessity and in no small measure from my yearning for you.
Franz Kafka, Letters to Felice
the only thing humans are equal in is death
My issue is I lose more words in my native language by trying to figure out what words to say from other languages. I just fumble trying to cycle through them
Same with me. And this can be either a tragedy or a blessing. Imagine how bad it is for your mind to lose the capacity to express what your heart feels.
After learning a new language, if you care enough, part of you becomes a member of a tribe, to which the language belongs
the bigger the circle of the known, the greater the contact with the unknown the more firmly unlearnt believes used to stands , the more helplessly your new identity totters

love is about how our relationships encourage us to act selflessly
