LOVE CAME ALONG

The two people that hurt me the most in life

A distant lover and an one time best friend

I carry em with me everyday

They inspire the emotions of love and hate

Love for the good times

And hate for the way we outgrew those times

To have lost love is better than to never have loved at all

If it was not for those two I never would have loved at all

I loved them so much there was no room to love myself at all

Since i did not love myself it forced me to love somebody else

We fell apart and that taught me love starts at home

I am a romantic so I wear my heart on my sleeve when I rome

I learned to love with my mind and leave my heart alone

I ignored all those lonely nights my heart sang a sad song

Just when i gave up on love Monique came along

I hope life is treating you grand my friend

Sometimes I dream of kissing your lips again

But silly things I must let be

The time has passed for you and me

I thank you for showing me how real love can be

Sometimes I awaken longing to hold you in my arms

But the time has passed for you and me

Silly things I must let be

Although I try I cant help that in my dreams we are still in love

Some nights I refuse to sleep some mornings I refuse to wake up

But silly things I must let be

I pray for you regularly and hope you pray for me

Let nothing but blessings remain between me and thee

For silly things there is no need for you to worry

As for silly things just let them be

My children

My children I have birthed not of my body but of my heart, my time, my stories, my love, my life.

My children are my children because I am in them and they are in me.

Always a part of me, forever immortal, in them, a mirror of my heart and mind that holds not only my light but their added own.

And what a resplendant light it is that they bring into the world.

I am so proud to have been given charge of such extraordinary lives. I am grateful every day of my life.

Once one of my daughters asked me if I had to pick anybody in the world to be my children would I have picked them? And the answer I said was, Yes, because families are brought together by love more than genetics and I couldn't love them more even if they had not been born of my body for they are born of my soul so I wrote this for them and especially for my son whom I couldn't possibly love more @freedom-before-its-too-late . You are a bright beacon every day of my life and I am so proud of you and your gentle heart.
