Little heart pirates - (they're pulling off a heist)

I started drawing them without any real plan but it turned into a whole thing. Using their meagre little origin story and just imagining freely from there. So, it's been about a year since they met. Penguin (16) is in the middle of an awkward growth spurt and desperately needs to get new coat but it hasn't been a priority. Shachi (15) should also invest in a new outfit. Hopefully there's something worth selling in that bag he's carrying. Law (14) is also growing, for the first time in his entire lead-infused life, and has optimistically gotten himself a pair of jeans made for someone twice his current height. Aim high! Bepo (10) is wearing shorts in the winter, because he likes it.

Those were some notes on their outfits. The point though, is that they've just pulled off their first major heist as a team and now they have a treasure map that might make them incredibly rich!! Rich enough to upgrade from the creaky little rowboat I imagine they've been using to get between bleak little winter islands.

Seeing dude bros fall for Law's front he puts on is so funny. "He is a cold badass, he will cut you down with no remorse." Brother he tatted memories of one of the few ppl who showed him love all over his body, named his crew after the guy, and cries when he realizes he wasn't saved to fulfill a mission but because someone just loved him and wanted him to live. He loves comics and robots, he says he hates helping ppl while actively helping them. He let's ppl think he is dark and evil when he has avoided killing most ppl. Once he realizes the Straw Hats don't want him to feel like he owes them, he actively views them as a safe space to run to and sometimes loses himself to their antics. He tattooed death on his knuckles not because he causes it but to remind him that he is a doctor and he holds life and death literally in his hands when operating on others. His best friend is a polar bear in a jumpsuit.

He is cool, but first and foremost he is a repressed nerd with attachment issues.
