Esteeming ahead.

If we base our confidence and esteem on the 'values' of a world that celebrates youth and vilifies age, are we not wasting our time? We are guaranteed to physically change as we age and lifestyles take hold and mould us. So these so called values seem an utter obvious waste of time and energy. Its nice to have magpie moments but your time is better wasted living and experiencing rather than stood in front of a mirror or screen worrying what other people might think.

DIY Mint Facial Beauty Products

The mint in my terrace herb garden has been growing like crazy lately, as this herb is known to do. Even if you have a black thumb and very little outdoor or planting space, if you would like to start growing your own herbs, mint is a great place to start. It grows quickly and in a variety of environments (full sun or partial sun and can withstand a variety of temperatures). It also can be incorporated into a variety of food dishes and is amazingly easy to use for DIY beauty products. Mint is refreshing and cool for your skin, which is perfect during this time of year, and helps with skin irritations and blemishes.

Three of my favorite DIY beauty products with mint are above: mint blemish remover, mint lip scrub and a mint facial mask. Simply combine the ingredients listed in the photographs above and you are set. Each keeps well in the refrigerator for a couple of weeks. Also, I like to keep the chopped mint leaves in the products to retain their minty freshness, however, you can also use a sieve to keep the larger chopped leaves out before incorporating the ingredients. And don’t forget to keep these in mind next time you need an extra special handmade gift for a friend or family member!

Big or small. Romantic or friend. It always requires at least 2 people, a connection and respect. No demands. No grandiose expectations from one side. That said people can be cruel, self centred and neglectful even of those we love. Equally this can and does work both ways. To err is human, to love is divine. But the grace of the divine does not keep love alive. So before you irrecoverably lose/end a relationship remember to treat with some iota of respect what was once a beautiful thing. Chances are you are also being human. And remember that life is a journey, people can and do change and so inevitably will our relationships. Demands to keep everything the same are unrealistic and will only lead you to disappointment. Embrace the path the people you love walk, even if it is out of your life, even just for a little while. They may be back and you my need/want their support and love again. A true love will always be there even after years of absence. So cherish/don't fritter that away.
