   Marshmallow men? Is that a reference to the boiler suits they wear or are they calling his crew soft? He doesn’t get why other crews get so hung up on the outfits his crew wear. It’s not like he cares about anyone’s opinions though. Those suits are practical and necessary for living on a submarine. Better than his people getting hurt unnecessarily if something was to break or get too hot. What does draw his ire some is the idea that this guy is insulting his crew.

   Yeah, they’re goofy and a bunch of idiots at times but they are capable. They can be almost as brutal as he is at times and don’t blanch at the things he does. With them under his leadership Law genuinely feels like he can accomplish anything he puts his mind to. They wouldn’t have gotten this far if he crew wasn’t strong enough.

   “Fine, stick with the volatile shrapnel filled powder keg,” Law says, sliding out of his seat and giving an uncaring shrug. That easy smirk lingers for a few seconds longer, the Hearts Captain about to make a comment about how it is a permanent fixture of his features and even death can’t take it from him. Then Susu makes a grave mistake, one that does make his smirk fall. Gold eyes go hard, his smooth voice slipping into a menacing snarl.

   “If you want to keep your organs inside your skin do not threaten my crew.”

it was like clockwork though a slight shiver ran down his spine at the snarl though rather than pulling away from the subject their smirk simply grew in return in fact looking more relaxed than before , not that he looked down on the man despite their words they did hold respect for him though the raven should have expected better than having this exchange be ‘ civil ‘ by any means.

‘   oh , who was the volatile on again ?  ’  the smirk turning into a mocking smile fingers twirling the glass giving it a few knocks against the wood a silent order of a second drink.

‘  and if you want to talk bullshit it’s fine with me but the notion of me betraying my own is quite derogatory so if you wish to pick up new members maybe choose those who have no standards or are highly gullible i am sure they’d take the bait.  ’

   Is this an underhanded tactic? Perhaps but Law has never been above using sly and sneaky techniques to fuck with his enemies. In all honesty the outcome of this conversation doesn’t bother him. Either Susu agrees and he gets a new crew member, someone who is a bit more mild mannered than the people he usually accumulates and has some pretty decent medical skills from what Law has heard, or the guy refuses and goes back to Kidd and tells him about this. Which would make Kidd furious and that is absolutely a win in Law’s book.

   The Hearts Captain shifts in his seat, head moving to rest on a raised fist as he leans on the bar. He sits beside the Kidd pirates’ physician, eyes focused entirely on them. A smirk plays at the corner of his lips, Law curious to see the other man’s reaction to this. Must have been a surprised to be approach by the rival captain while he was just taking a relaxing drink in this bar. It’s not like Law was waiting for him. He just saw an opportunity and took it.

   “All I’m sayin’,” Law continues, that smirk settling on his lips. “Is that I can provide way better medical, both as a working environment and physical care, along with a more relaxed atmosphere and a guarantee that I’m not going to lose my shit over any random dude that looks at me wrong. Just think on it.”

‘   you think i’d trade what i have for a place among your gang of marshmallow men ? truly that is a joke for the ages  ’  they scoffed the mere notion of taking this ‘ offer ‘ seriously was ridiculous to the point of mockery. pink hues stayed unimpressed as they took one last swing of the alcohol before placing it down fingertips on the rim of the glass.

when kidd talked about how punch-able this captain was they assumed it was the same way he always was , agitated. however considering the raven had the look of a cat that just ate a canary , they could understand where he was coming from the urge to see it ripped off that face of his was quite a pleasing thought at the moment.
