Where: We will be on the north benches near High Park station, which is a wheelchair accessible station.

This is an outdoor event. Barring thunderstorms, event is rain-or-shine. Info will be available by Sunday morning if we cancel.

Accessibility:

the picnic benches are on a patch of grass, off the paved path but fairly level

water bottle refilling station and gendered washrooms nearby

according to the City of Toronto website, the "High Park Chess House Washrooms" have wheelchair accessible stall, entrance ramp and automatic door opener.

We’re excited to be returning with a call for submissions for the another issue (the third!) of the Toronto Aces and Aros group zine!

The theme of this issue is access and the way in which this intersects with asexual and/or aromantic spectrum experiences, identity, and community. Submissions should be generally based around this theme, but you are welcome to interpret the theme in any way you like. 

For example, this may include topics such as:

The importance of accessibility in ace & aro communities.

Access (or lack thereof) to queer and/or ace & aro spaces.

Finding language and terminology for one’s experiences.

The overlap of disability justice and queer justice.

Or anything else you would like to talk about!

The deadline for submission is August 15. We accept both text format (essays, poetry, etc) and visual format (art, comics, etc) submissions!

Toronto Aces & Aros' ages 40+ group is holding a patio meetup this upcoming weekend!

When: Sunday, August 16th, 2026 @ 3:30pm

Where: Church Street Espresso (585 Church St.)

This is an outdoor patio event, so masks are optional. Unfortunately there is no ASL interpretation. People are responsible for whatever food or beverages they want to purchase. And the cafe also sells beer.

Accessibility:

The venue was chosen because it was the most accessible patio people could think of and it meets the access needs of the people who were collectively involved in planning it, but it is not fully accessible:

the patio itself is level to the ground and spacious (i.e., wheelchair accessible) -- this is where people plan to sit

there is 1 step to enter the establishment (where people can order/pay for their orders and use the bathroom)

If anyone would like to attend but can't do the step, other people are happy to assist with logistics of going inside to order, etc.

Trans March meetup (Friday, June 26th)

Meet by the Toronto Aces & Aros' table at the Trans Community Fair

We'll be on Church St., near Isabella (south of Hayden). Look for the "Toronto Aces & Aros" banner and ace & aro flags

Dyke March meetup (Saturday, June 27th)

Meet at the north-east corner of Church & Hayden, near the brown pillar

Pride Parade meetup: (Sunday, June 28th)

Meet in the little parkette at the north-west corner of Pear Ave. & Yonge St., by the tree (Map of meetup spot: https://shorturl.at/TGXXM)

We will be moving into the Staging area at 2:30pm

Latecomers can join us # E3 (behind the Toronto Bi+ Network)

We encourage RSVPing so we know to look for you in the crowd, especially for the Trans March and Dyke March since we will be a small group in a crowded space!

Dress for the weather (including hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.); all events are rain or shine

The Pride Parade will involve A LOT of waiting in a crowded staging area -- maybe an hour or more. There might be a set of portapotties like last year, but no access to bathrooms is guaranteed.

Unlike the Trans & Dyke March, the Parade route has barricades -- people can't join in later in the route. It's possible to leave early in case of emergency, but if you leave, you can't come back into the parade.

Have you been to at least one Toronto Aces & Aros event in the past year? Are you interested in helping at Toronto Aces & Aros info tables during the Pride season? We are looking for volunteers to help host/staff Toronto Aces & Aros info tables coming up soon!

Tabling involves:

Setting up and taking down leaflets, zines, and other materials etc.

Offering event attendees leaflets and giving a brief explanation of asexuality, aromanticism and what Toronto Aces & Aros does.

Taking email addresses on a sign-up sheet.

Networking with other groups tabling.

There will be virtual tabling orientation ahead of time for all new tablers.

We're hoping to hold some info/skill-share community sessions, where members of our community present on topics they'd like to share with others.

On May 28 we'll be holding the first of these in a virtual session.

The fitness info-share is a virtual presentation about exploring topics related to physical fitness and to help provide information related to some facets of gym-going and personal trainers. This info-share is for both newcomers to the gym and veterans alike and will feature information related to general principles behind exercise, different forms of exercise, flexibility training and its importance, personal trainers, and how to reduce barriers to gym access!

Note: This event aims to be weight-neutral and will not explore body size/weight loss or diet topics.

Want to repair a ripped shirt, untangle a chain, fix an earring? Maybe have something else you've been meaning to tinker with or a DIY project or craft? We're holding a make & mend social this upcoming weekend!

When: Sun. March 8th (2-4:30pm)

Where: 519 Church St., room 304

Bring something to work on, come to share your skills or just come hang out!

We'll have some supplies (like pliers, glue and needle and thread and stuff for learning how to knit or crochet) but please bring any specific tools you might need.

We recognise masks are uncomfortable but when we all wear them they help keep the space safe enough for many of our community members to attend.
