The real reason for why Toto just magically showed up and didn't seem to care about Ron's emotions is because

it's actually his evil twin that got send by (idk someone evil lol)

At first Ron didn't notice any differences because of the pure shock that his beloved partner is alive. But as the story progresses and they solve more cases together, Ron notices some changes in Toto's preferences and character. How he isn't as empathetic towards the victims of the cases they do together or no longer mutters something accidentally and etc etc.

Now Ron's goal is to find his real Toto and make sure he's safe, without making the clone suspicious.

There is a serious, intimate bonding (like RonToto getting emotional that they have to fuck, Ron holding Toto like a limpet bc they miss each other so much and are so glad that they are so alive) before they decided to go to a cafe and drink their coffees.

Reading the final chapter makes me realize how much I care about the bond between Ron and Toto tho. I cried over how depress Ron was without Toto.

So when Ron and Toto reunited just like that it feels half assed. Literally no emotional attachment on Toto's side. Prove the lack of development Toto has. It's so frustrating.

Random things I want from rkdd would be Amamiya and Toto's relationship tbh. Like a background of how they meet or Amamiya's first impression of Toto. Y'know for the boss and rookie frienship. Like why Amamiya is comfortable around Toto when she's not wearing her make up or why she just didn't throw Toto out of the first division. Something simple like that.

The amount of hanging plotlines make me think that Amano is probably not planning to end it here, but the sales is kinda low so she was forced to end it. Also, it could be that she doesn't wanna write this series anymore. Idk what's true, however. But still... The amount of chapters should have been enough for some Totomaru character development, or just a semblance of a backstory even. If your name is not Ron, fuck you. I guess. Heck, even Ron's writing got... Stilted. So I'm really leaning on she doesn't wanna write this anymore.
