Think coffee
Okay so think coffee has like a bazillion locations which is cool because you generally want to have a good version of Starbucks that isn't Starbucks if that makes sense? And I feel like this kind of fills that void in Manhattan for me just like the tiniest bit.
Anyway this is the one that's on 3rd because I walked from Irving farms that new one and I was like oh my God there's a think over here and I've never been there because I've been to the other things like two or three that I've been to otherwise that are okay but this one let me tell you what it is my favorite.
So the space is really good I feel like when you walk in it's easy to navigate and it's not like a weird wishy-washy maze kind of thing that some cafes kind of get I don't know it's just New York buildings I guess whatever. But there's like so many seats that are open and I found easily one to sit in and kind of chill there was a couple of outlets it wasn't like a lot of them but it was enough for I guess whoever needed them to kind of like share whatever and it did get a little busy in the afternoon granted this was like a Sunday and that was after the football game where Argentina won, so I think it's fair to say that was expected.
I always like things selection of coffee I think their prices are pretty fair usually you know that average 10 bucks whatever you know and you're going to get good coffee and like a pastry or something also they had like other food that they were cooking and it smelled so freaking good I was like yum please!!
I'll give this 10 out of 10 Kikis because honestly it kind of filled every vibe that I need I mean it had good Wi-Fi and had a outlets and had space and had good food and good prices and good coffee and actually I drink just the hot chocolate this time but that was like super good so I liked it.
Irving farms coffee
Welp I stopped in at the new location which I think used to be third rail coffee because it said I was where they're real coffee was but I didn't see it but then again my GPS system is like the devil so I don't know.
It was pretty good it was pretty minimal they don't have Wi-Fi there because I guess they're just encouraging people to like actually have like a quick meal you know and then just beat scoot but like for that purpose it serves very well I mean there's outlets if you're just doing stuff like not needing an internet or whatever yeah that's perfect place for you to kind of get away from that and do a little bit of work too.
Their cost is like about 10 bucks average for things I mean they have like sandwiches and stuff but then the coffee's obviously like a little bit cheaper depending on what you like put in it or whatever but I did have their iced coffee and it was like super smooth so that's worth getting.
7 out of 10 Kiki's, it seems it has another location I might vibe with better. This one was off west 3rd.
hello. i live in nyc. i am from texas originally, houston suburbs near galveston, and have only been here since may 2022. i am stupid obsessed with finding THE ultimate nyc cafe that gives me what i need:
outlets, good wi fi, ok price, plenty of space, and whatever else. i write as a hobby so for me finding a perfect place to post up, buy some grub and suds, and get to work is pretty much goals.
i also want to find places that are pleasing in ways that inspire i guess. like, you know, its easy to find a sbux that gives you the basics but is it cute?? is it fuckin cute????? well i will tell you on a scale of 0 to 10 kikis.
thats my cat
she is extremely cute.
anywayyy maybe one day people will realize this exists and is actually updated and stuff and will want to support the cause. sweet. i will be spending free time (usually weekends) exploring all five boroughs to bring you the info you need to decide where to go.
questions? hmu.
BLACK CAT LES
Cafe: Black Cat Les
Located: LES, duh. Ok but seriously 172 Rivington St, manhattan.
prices: i dont have a rating system yet. lets just say i give this five clams. it's not incredibly cheap, like no dollar coffee or whatever, but you get quality coffee for a starbucksish price and its better than starbucks.
serves: coffee, alcohol, tea, basic coffee pastries like bagels and shit, but also some more complex stuff like paninis and what have you.
outlets: enough! plenty! top notch! you can plug in so many things?? it's wonderful.
wifi: free, ask for password, not bad and not laggy or anything that i ever noticed.
space: it has a pretty nice space for chillin or working. there are several little tables with chairs for about 3 people, one big table in front of a piano, 4 people, and then various couches and comfy looking chairs. seriously it's one of the better spaces and i never have problem finding somewhere to sit.
bathroom: nice and clean, keep it that way if you go.
events: yah tons. they do comedy shows several nights and have tarot readings on wednesdays.
hours: pretty good, open till 10 on saturdays so that rocks.
downside: no outdoor seating except like one tiny patio table but it's not a huge downside considering how nice it is inside.
overall: a fave. i keep going back. i get shit done there. oh snap and they have a printer you can use, like hell yea brother. it's not so quiet that it's awkward to meet people and hang and they have vintage board games you can play, which is neat. i have yet to go to an event but want to and will report back once i have.
rating: 10/10 kikis (thats my cat)
