hi, so school is starting up, and i have intense tics but i don’t have official diagnosis of TS yet. i’m really scared because i don’t know how to tell people i have tics but not a official diagnosis. how do i make people aware of this. i’m also really anxious because i’m worried i might get bullied, and causing attention to myself, which i know is out of my control, but i don’t want that. sorry if wasted any of your time
You’re not wasting my time! Being undiagnosed is really hard. If you’re in the process of getting diagnosed, you could have a parent talk to your teachers about it so they know there’s something going on.
Before I was diagnosed, I would just say something like “I have neurological problems” when someone asked, and they usually didn’t push it past that. I did draw attention to myself sometimes, but I didn’t really get bullied over it.
I hope that helps!
