and the process
my corp class final. we had to make a design and product for a famous company as our hypothetical client. I chose Larian Studios (they've only got like 2 pieces of merch that aren't dnd or divinity)
using their logo knight character with an emphasis on their relationship with the gaming community so he's sharing a drink
below is a quick mock up for how it might be used
these are so rushed and bad but here's a few frames from the rushed animatic I did for class with my two dnd ocs. this is really just like. the first rough pass. woulda coulda shoulda but my health tanked so *shrugs*

I was limited on time so cut corners and omitted details (like the mushrooms growing on Evoka's armour) so might return to these later
my Heathers movie poster final. I wanted to do something different than what's already been done. really happy with how the rendering came out cause that's something I struggle with.
I put so much work into the city illustration so breakdown
combined some 3D models I found, tweaked pov and perspective. blocked out the silhouette and sections in a way I thought was more balanced. then added the lights which was the most time consuming thing before finishing up with a combination of cloud textures and final visual edits.
for the lights I found a set of brushes (stamps?) on clip studio's assets page. content ID: 2065378. there was so much editing, transforming, erasing and combining to get the perspective and density/distribution I wanted. it was a lot harder than you'd imagine. the brush set helped me so much, and even then this took me several hours and multiple sessions.
it could definitely be improved and has problems ofc but I'm honestly p proud of how it ended up considering I don't do backgrounds or environments much and had issues with time in the project overall

I am the worst at perspective and backgrounds. it's embarrassing. for whatever reason perspective is so hard for my brain to wrap itself around and I feel like no matter what I do I'm doing it wrong. like I'm fine roughly sketching it out cause if it's sketchy no one really cares how jank it might be but actually refining it and trying to make it functional is rough.
I also really struggled with getting the furniture to look ok. I decided to learn into my failures and make it a stylistic choice. I found a brush that was super messy and I think for the tone of this story it works, if I had more time and less panic I would have used that brush on final lineart for the character, bedroom and lanterns as well.
admittedly I traced a couple free 3D models and premade brush stuff. tried to be transformative at least and it was all publicly available but for transparency sake. bedroom layouts and lanterns were also heavily referenced. (the symmetry tool carried with the lanterns)
I really tried my best but did not have a good time and cut a lot of corners. this was a 'just hand something in even if it's a C- because that's still a pass' type of situation. :')

tried to focus on shape and body language as areas I need work in
honestly half baked and unfinished. because I mostly do character drawing I intended to circle back but just ran out of time. (I also misunderstood parts of the assignment x-x)
coverpage for a vis. development book for my narrative illustration class. I choose to adapt The Tell-Tale Heart into the cyberpunk genre. the characters symbolizing the struggle between the super rich and impoverished.

went with the lipstick idea and explored that concept further
I decided I wanted to avoid what's already been done by the film and musical. take a more unique approach. hard to decide what to go with, even my prof and classmates during crit were divided.

not sure what my class or prof will say tomorrow when I submit. I definitely could probably have more and I don't know how strong these ideas are but I tried to have variety.
rewatching Heathers as an adult really shifts things into perspective. also neat to go back and see what the musical changed. I think they're both great imo.
I got covid and so missed like a week and a half of time to work on this. Very rushed admittedly. but my first project for my corp and cultural class.
