Some ground rules and info

• No serious accusations from anon accounts/without substantial evidence added. (Namely, allegations of someone being a pedo/groomer are not allowed.)

• Asks will be submitted whenever Im available, which wont be 24/7. If your ask isnt posted, don't yell at me about it. I might have just not gotten around to it yet. Believe it or not I have a life outside, even if I do run a drama blog.

• I wont check with people who send asks off anon. Double check youre posting anonymously, or if you feel inclined, put "dont post if off anon" somewhere in your ask.

• Please dont misgender people in your asks just because you're mad at them.

• Art community submissions in general are welcome, even if not necessarily toyhouse related. Species submissions are welcome even if they're not hosted on toyhouse.

• You can submit positive asks if you have them. You can ask me to make a poll if you have one.

• Artfight submissions are welcome.

Not a rule, but keep in mind I am just a vessel for asks to be sent to. I, random moderator on tumblr, do not agree with every post that comes this way. Dont shoot the messenger. I might include a comment here or there but generally I'll just post an ask without adding my opinions. If I say something you dont like, then you can shoot me.

Is this a safe place to say I dont agree that bases that are "made to be traced" should be allowed on artfight anyway? Im surprised I saw multiple people defending this??

Like trace your own pictures, trace your own models, all that is fine, but using bases even theyre "made to be traced over" feels in bad sport imo. Ive seen people saying its helpful to be able to draw faster, and like sure... but you know you dont have to make a trillion attacks, right? You dont have to revenge everyone. You have a whole month, what are you speedrunning your art for!!! Chill out, take your time, quality over quantity and all that

ppl need to get more normal about being blocked like right now right away

if i had a nickel for every time i saw a "is there a beware on me :((??" post when like one or two people blocked them i would have at least 12 nickels which isnt much but is more than u would think

especially if theyre super active in forums!!! maybe they just think ur annoying thats not the end of the world (and i know me personally i will block people for whatever even if its inconsequential. blocks are prob rarely that serious)

This is probably a really petty complaint but I hate that custom profile codes overwrite the dark mode on browsers. I'll look at someones profile at 2am and BAM flashbang like no other, goddamn!!!

i think a person i follow may have used ai to write about their ocs?? she uploaded a kinda long fic that seemed very... like how ai writes stuff. shes also never posted writing before and her ocs are fairly simple as far as lore goes, but here she is posting a kinda suspicious looking (and lengthy) fic

but im barely a writer, im a lot better at spotting ai art, not ai writing and i would feel like a massive dickhead if i asked and it wasnt ai

at what point do you cancel a hold for someone cause i sold("sold") this adopt for 30$ to someone asking for a hold and they have yet to send the money over,,,, first it was they didnt get paid until the end of the week, then it was they had to spend it on gas but would pay the next week, now its they had to spend it taking their cat to the vet

like i havent sent the adopt over, they havent sent any payment yet, but i asked in if they just wanted to cancel and they said they were still really interested they just couldnt pay

i hesitate to cancel because they're the only person to comment and i really could use the money,,, its not like an emergency or anything but yknow

So I bought this character a few months ago, right? 25$, not a whole lot but it was a little treat for myself, since I really liked it, had had my eye on it for a little bit, and I dont often buy art for myself.

I've been using them ever since but an artist sent a message my inbox saying that they made it, hadn't sold it to anyone, and obviously hadn't given anyone else permission to sell them. I did take a look at the design they apparently made, and while the character I own and the one this artist made are slightly different, I can absolutely tell that the one I own was copied from theirs (Ive seen the creation dates, mine came afterwards). I dont really know what to do now. I like this design a lot, and I don't really want to change it as Ive drawn them a lot and have gotten some art made from them with teades and stuff, but at the same time I obviously don't want to use a character that was obviously copied from someone elses work. The artist that sold them to me was last active in November of last year, as far as I can figure out anyway.

obv i think u should be able to trace poses u made urself like irl pictures or models u poses urself but like, premade poses "made to be traced" like ive seen some people defend feels a little too close to using a base imo.

anyways if it really make or breaks artfight for u just do it anyway, if u do it right it'll be p much impossible to tell lol, its one of those rules im positive people break all the time like the "dont start your attacks before artfight begins" i do ts every year and its been 5 years so...

tldr i think some people r overreacting to this rule specifically. if not being able to trace poses bothers u that much just do it anyway.

Someone asked me for a design I just bought because apparently they kin the design? (Not based on any characters mind you) and they blocked me when I said no lol. What really gets me is that I paid 25$ for this character and they asked if I'd be willing to just give it to them free of charge, I'm almost surprised they didn't claim it was their birthday or something. I realize that this is probably someone super young if they thought this would work but if you're old enough to use toyhouse you should probably know better than to ask strangers for free stuff 😭? Not even offering art or trades either. I mean, I still would've declined but it would've been a little more reasonable.

i notice that when people are complaining about something a popular artist has done, people in comment sections everywhere, tumblr included, always have something to say about how their style is "really basic anyway i can't believe people would pay for that"

at best yall didn't gaf about their art before and at worst one or two of yall did gen think they were basic but i think the hive mentality of "theyre basic anyway" is still alive and well with toyhouse and tumblr users alike. they can't all have basic art/they got popular for a reason 😭
