BREAKING: Luigi Mangione's federal trial has been delayed until Jan 2027 due to scheduling conflicts with New York state case. Voire dire will begin on Jan 5, opening statements on Jan 25, and the trial will be around 2-3 weeks long. Jury questionnaire won't be made public before voire dire starts.

Okay, it looks like the teams are in the court room and we are waiting on the judge and Luigi.

The scope of this hearing should be scheduling/DCO, jury questionnaires, and other related matters (so essentially, anything lol). Just waiting on Judge and Luigi.

Now they’re just going through a few more scheduling things. Jury questionnaires will remain sealed to avoid making “a difficult task more difficult”.

Word in the court room is that this hearing was delayed because Luigi was stuck in the court’s prisoner elevator???

Due to how high profile the case is, the parties have agreed to additional alternate jurors for a total of 6. They are also calculating the amount of strikes each party will receive. These allow each side to strike potential jurors during the voir dire process and narrow down the venirmen. Judge then made a joke about being bad a math (it’s true - lawyers suck at math).

Also, disclosure of the governments witnesses needs to be in by October 23.

Judge Garnett says that the federal trial will be 2-3 weeks.
