Is it just me or does it seem like the Gamemaster's have fallen off the face of the planet? They haven't been on in two weeks+ and we kind of need them for the Game and updates and things.
Upon seeing Int’s excitement, Winter couldn’t help but chuckle. “That’s good to hear that your hand is healing fine, But try not to move it as much as possible so it can heal completely.” He was happy for Int that his hand was healing. He really was.
"Okay, I'll try not to," Int smiled brightly, and though he had stopped fidgeting and looking like he was excited, it still showed in his eyes.
"Soooo...how are things coming with the plan..?" he asked curiously. It had been awhile since he had last asked about it, and he wanted to know if Winter had made any progress.
Winter looked down at the soup and then at Int, still really unsure if he should take the last sip but if Int insisted…
He finished the soup and placed the can on top of a near by rock and stretched.
“Feeling much better, I hope?”
"Yeah, I am actually!" he grinned and looked at his hand, "And look!" he carefully moved his fingers, "I can move my hand a bit now!"
Int was so excited, he almost sounded like a child on Christmas. If he could use his hand again he would finally be able to help out some more. He wouldn't have to wear his sling either, and it was starting to bother his neck a bit.
Winter had gone into his pack and searched for the notebook he found and pencil. After finding it he sat at the opposite direction of Int and started sketching something which soon turned into the sketch of the collar they were wearing.
Upon hearing Int offering some soup he smiled and closed the notebook. “heh, sure. ” He got up and went over to Int and took the soup. He took 3 long sips, he was litterly drinking the soup as if it was like a cold bottle of water.
He enjoyed those 3 long sips and saw there was still some left.
“Oh man, that was amazing heh. There’s a bit left, Would you like the last bit?”
Int fiddled with his sling as he watched Winter drink the soup. His hand was beginning to feel better and the feeling in his fingers had almost come back completely. He tried to wiggle them slightly, but he ended up wincing because he moved his wrist in the process. After moving them again though, being more careful about his wrist, he smiled, glad that his hand was beginning to heal.
When he heard Winter's offer, that last bit of soup sounded great, but decided against it.
"No, no, I'm fine, you can have it," he smiled slightly, he felt fairly full and it was great. There was something about the warm feeling in his stomach and the fact that he could move his fingers that just put Int in a good mood.
“Oh…Alright…” Winter responded softly. He focused on the flames of the fire and on the soup. Waiting for it to warm up. When he started to see the soup boiling, He took a stick to push the soup out of the flame and quickly took the soup out. He winced slightly as his hands made contact with the hot metal. He placed the soup on the ground to let his hands and the can to cool down a bit.
It was a rather chilly night so the soup didn’t take long to cool from the outside. He picked it up and went over to Int handing it to him. He didn’t have a spoon nor did he think Int had one so he bent the top lid as a scoop and hand it to Int.
Int looked up and smiled brightly, "Th-thanks Winter.."
He held on to the lid tightly in his good hand and the can in his other, being careful not to tilt it to much, and took a scoop. He began to feel better almost immediately after the first sip. The gnawing feeling in his stomach was gone and his headache was beginning to fade away.
After he took a few more sips and looked up at Winter, holding the can out slightly, "Do you want some..? It's really good, and it's still fairly warm.."
Winter grabbed the knife and noticed Int’s shaking hands. He didn’t know what to do. Int looked really bad but He hopped that maybe after he has eaten some of the soup he’ll feel much better.
He said thanks softly and went back to the can. He stabbed the knife in the edge of the top and started cutting it open. After he had the top of the can open, he placed it on top a slab of rock he had found which was placed in the middle of the camp fire.
As he was waiting for the soup to be ready, he would glance over at Int. “Are you cold…? I ,uh, can let you borrow my sweater. It isn’t much but its something…”
"N-no, I'm fine.." he said stuttering slightly, "I-i think I j-just need something to eat.. Th-that's all.." Int smiled weakly up at Winter, and tried to sound reassuring. He was sure just just having some food in his stomach would help a lot.
He looked down slightly and put his hand back up to his head, waiting for the soup to finish warming up.
“Okay…” He said a bit uncertain. If it was a small headache it was okay wasn’t it…?
“Just take it easy alright…? Err Can I borrow the knife for a sec..?”
"Yeah, o-of course.." he pulled the small knife out of his pocket and handed it to Winter, his hand shaking slightly.
Winter went over to his bag and took out a can of soup or at least thats what he thought it was. He placed the can on the ground and turned around to ask Int if he could borrow the knife for a second until he noticed him feeling his forehead. He kinda stared at him a bit uncertain to ask him if he was okay but he ended up asking him anyways.
“You okay….?”
"Yeah.. I-I've just got a bit of a headache, that's all.."
Int looked up at Winter and smiled weakly, trying to ignore the pounding feeling in his head. It felt like someone was taking a sledgehammer to his head, but he tried not to show it. He didn't want to worry Winter any more than he already was.
Winter noticed Int swaying slightly but kept his mouth shut. He had a good idea why Int was walking like that…
He must be really tired…
He placed the bottles down and upon hearing Int’s request for a bottle of water he nodded and passed him one.
“You hungry? Should I cook that can of stuff now..?”
Int took a drink from the bottle, emptying a little less then half, "Sure.. Some food sounds good about now.."
He placed his hand to his forehead, feeling some effects of fatigue, and wondered why they were just starting to hit now. He took another drink and finished off the last of the bottle. He felt bad for being so selfish, but he was so thirsty.
Winter nodded, “Thanks, I’ll take your crowbar then. It’ll be hard to carry a torch and a crowbar with one hand, heh”
Winter placed the crowbar under his arm and grabbed the bottles. He carefully followed Int back to the camp site making sure not to drop any bottles.
Int smiled and placed the torch down where the fire usually was and sat down. He wasn't sure why but his legs were kind of wobbly, but then he remembered that the entire time they had been in the game he had only had half a granola bar as sustenance.
He looked over at Winter, his mouth going a bit dry, "Can you pass me pass of the bottles of water..?"
Winter nodded. “I have a few empty bottles we can refill that I found at the house…! I’ll go get them.” He placed the torch down near a dry area and ran off to get the bottles.
He found 3 empty bottles in his bag and took them back where Int was waiting. He started filling them up one by one.
Int waited patiently as Winter filled the bottles up.
"Here," he smiled, picking up the torch after the bottles were all fairly full, "I'll take this back so you don't have a ton of things to carry."
Winter looked at the stalactites in awe.
“yea, I think so…” Winter trailed off as he went closer to one that was hanging rather low. Winter smiled and touched the tip of it which was dripping wet with water.
“They’re beautiful, wow”
"They really are."
Int smiled slightly, he hadn't seen something this beautiful in a long time. He stood in for a minute in a daze, just watching the fire light bounce off the water, before saying something again.
"Do you think we should try collect some of it..?"
“yea ‘m okay! Lets get going then,” Winter chuckled lightly and continue walking back until he saw the entrance of the cave. His jacket was still wet but he figured he could always start a fire and place the jacket on a rock nearby to dry. He took the torch and lite it up.
“Alright! We’re good now,” Winter smiled and turned to walk back to the water source.
Int followed Winter back into the deeper part of the cave. He wasn't as scared as he was before because they had the light now, but he was still shaking a little.
As he looked around the torch lit cave, he noticed some stalactites hanging from the ceiling. They almost seemed to glisten in the light from the fire.
"Hey Winter, do you think this is where that puddle came from?" he asked looking up at the pointy formations.
“Yea, We should do that…ah ha..;; Don’t want to fall or trip anywhere, now do we? heh. Lets go.” Winter turned around cautiously in the dark. He walked for a while until he tripped on a rock and felt a splash of water on his face.
“W-wha??” Winter got up all wet from falling inside a small puddle of cave water. It made sense since the mountain was close by the beach to have water systems inside the cave.
Which means the water they found was filtered water. Drinkable water!
He got up and turned his shirt to get out the water.
“W-well that was pleasant ,” Winter said a bit sarcastically.
Int let out a small giggle, "You okay..?" he asked, then looked up at the top of the cave. He tried to see where the water had come from, but it was still way to dark to see, even though his eyes had adjusted to the lack of light.
"Let's go get a light and find the source of the water, there might be even more there."
Winter nodded and turned around, “Lets go then.” He started walking down the cave.
As they got deeper and deeper the cave got darker and darker. Winter then noticed he forgot to bring the torch He couldn’t barely see what was in front of him.
Winter turned around in attempt to see if Int was behind him but it was just too dark.
“Int you okay?”
"Y-yeah..D-do you want to go back for a light o-or something..? I-it's starting to get really d-dark in here.."
Int was starting to get just a little freaked out. He had never been a big fan of the dark, and he'd been even more freaked out ever since he had his nightmare.
Winter blinked a few times, surprise that Int turned from not wanting to go to so eager to go. “Okay…? Uh…Just tell me when your ready and we’ll head out.”
"Okay," Int walked over to where his things were and grabbed his crowbar, then walked back over to where Winter was, "All right, I'm ready.."
Winter noticed the weak response he gave, “Hey…I can go alone real quick and check. You don’t necessarily have to go.” He said a bit worried. “You can rest and stuff…”
"N-no, it's fine, I-I want to come..!" Int tried to smile convincingly. He actually didn't really want to, but he didn't trust himself to be alone. He was worried that might do something drastic.
