SPOILERS FOR S5 OF ST!!!!!
Heart with fangs, a steddie fic
The plan was simple, get into the Abyss’s and defeat Vecna, save the kids. In the upside down, Steve felt watched, like if there There was a lingering sensation behind his back, as if he was being watched. Sure, the upside-down was very creepy, but still, it didn’t feel normal.
Steve’s plan was going well. All they had to do was reach the tower, and then Eleven would interfere with Vecna, giving them time to rescue the trapped kids. That’s until they noticed that the towel needle wasn’t lining up with the rift of the Abyss, and they would definitely die if Eleven didn’t save them.
- CHIEF! WE NEED ELEVEN TO STOP THE PLANET! – Dustin shouted on the walkie talkie to Hopper.
Everyone was desperate as the planet redhead closer and closer to them. It first hit the tower needle, making the whole construction tremble. The group held onto the fences.
The abyss hits the Needle, and it starts to fall onto one of the fences. Steve immediately shouted.
- EVERYONE LOOK OUT! LOOK OUT!
The group covered themselves as e fence fell. Because of the impact the tower started to tremble once again, and Steve lost balance of his feet. He fell and slid right off the edge, he held onto it with all the force he could manage, desperate.
He started panicking, his mind flashed with a bunch of different memories of his friends, like when he first started befriending Dustin, or when he worked with Robin at Scoops Ahoy or at Family Video. Every memory passed through him, all the laughs, fights, everything.
Thats until his arm started to tremble, he heard Dustin shout something, he also heard Robin crying, the kids were all shouting. Until he finally fell off.
For him the fall felt like it was in slow motion, he could feel the toxic air of the upside down flow through his body, that was becoming motionless. He promised Dustin that he wouldn’t die, he promised, and as always he failed.
Steve remembered when he was a kid, 5 years old, he failed a math test his teacher passed him, he was tired that day, and not up to mood to do the activities, he did try tho, he did his best, giving his all. But still, he failed, and his father didnt like that.
- I didnt raise you to be like this, Steven. I thought you would do better, when will you not disappoint me? – His father said angrily, Steve curled up on himself after hearing the discipline.
- Sir, I’m sorry, I’ll promise I’ll do good, I do.
After that night Steve followed what his father wanted him to be, until the whole upside down happened, that’s when he couldnt hide his facade anymore.
Steve got back to his mind, he noticed that he wasnt falling anymore though, he was still, not still, he was curled up to something. He looked up at what was holding him, and his jaw dropped.
Familiar dark curls, familiar doe beautiful brown eyes, a ripped leather jacket, and the once again familiar Hellfire shirt. It was Eddie, he looked just as beautiful as he remembered.
Before Eddie “died”, Steve had a crush on him, he never thought it was big, but it was. He would always shut down the feeling in fear of how others would react, but after talking to Robin he felt comfortable once again with himself, and started to accept the bisexuality in him.
- E-Eddie? – He mumbled, looking up and locking eyes with Eddie, who smiled down at him. He had sharp fangs on his canines, and that made him look way hotter than before.
- Hey big boy, long time no see, huh? I let you alone and here you are, almost dying, couldnt let that happen to you.
Steve blushed, Eddie also had wings, they looked dragon like. He looked at his face and smiled.
- Wait...is that my shield and spear? – He laughed quietly.
-H-how...how are you alive? What is all this? – steve ignored the question Eddie gave him, too focused on what the fuck was going on in the moment.
- I’ll explain later, let's get to the group.
He flew up with Steve in his arms. Dustin started crying as he saw them. He looked confused and worried. He saw Eddie, and his jaw dropped.
- Eddie? – He asked as Eddie landed. He placed Steve on the floor and looked at everyone.
He said, and Dustin ran to both him and Steve, hugging them tightly as he cried, the rest ran to them and hugged them as well.
- So, you’re like a zombie now? – Robin asked, she looked at Eddie and then at Steve, a knowing and relieved smile on her face.
She knew about Steve’s crush on Eddie, she heard about it from Steve when he felt comfortable talking about it with her. She obviously supported him, but it was too late to do anything at the time, well since Eddie was “dead”
- More of a vampire, actually. – Eddie said, showing off his big fangs.
- Cool! Steve is like that too! – Dustin said after cleaning his tears of emotion and backing off along everyone.
- Not really, Henderson. I’m just half vampire, because of the whole bat thing.
- We’re immortals, Stevie.
Steve blushed at the nickname. – I guess we are.
- Okay guys, we need to get into the Abyss, like right now. – Jonathan said, everyone nodded. And steve looked at Eddie.
- So...this means you’re coming back, right?
- I mean, yeah, I just need to get used to the life as a vampire, and a wanted man.
- You see, Hopper cleared your name, man, and youre kinda dead to everyone out there. But like...we can sort this out, together.
Eddie smiled, he shook Steve hand.
- that sounds like a plan-
- Hey lovebirds! – Robin shouted. – lets get going.
Steve blushed, didnt say a word and just walked to the rift among Eddie and the others.
After the fight, they defeated Henry, Eleven sacrificed herself in the upside down, destroying it with her as we know.
The others months passed like a blur, Steve took Eddie in his house and took care of him, he became his blood source, so Eddie wouldn’t go around hurting innocent people. Because of that, they grew closer, and they finally spoke out about their feelings.
Their first time was nervous and shy, but lovely, and sweet. They both went on dates, Eddie always covering himself on the day, staying hidden as they would eat at night in Steve roof, both eating together as they watch the stars.
Since Steve was a half vampire he didnt understand his powers or how to control them, so Eddie helped him, since he had more experience. They started to date after some months of dates and small hook ups. They finally felt happy, their life was now calm, the same for everyone else. They didnt have to fight monsters anymore, they could be happy in their normal life.
18 months after the whole vecna thing. The kids were graduating, Steve worked as a coach and as an sex educator. Eddie would pick him up every night so he could go back home and enjoy their company together.
Today they went to see the kids graduate. Steve felt so proud of them, he watched them grow, protected them, and now they were adults, going off to their life’s as independent adults. Dustin was chosen as the Valedictorian, and Eddie was so proud as well.
He was under a umbrella with sunglasses besides steve and robin on the benches, watching as all the kids entered in. Steve cheering for all of his kids loudly. Eddie couldnt help but fall more in love with Steve, it was so sweet how he always cared for the kids, and how he loved them.
- GO DUSTIN!!!! – He shouted as Dustin took his place to give his class speech.
- THATS MY BOY!!! – Eddie shouted as well, holding Steve hand.
After the speech and Dustin rebeling out everyone cheered, Eddie felt so proud. He always dreamed of doing something of sorts on his own graduation, but he wasnt able to, but he was glad that someone else did.
The next days passed well, Steve and Eddie kept a safe and nice routine. Tonight Eddie was planning something special. He picked up Steve at school, he was just sorting some stuff at the school gym before getting in Eddie’s van.
- Hey baby – He kissed his lips gently
- Hey, Stevie, ready to go?
Steve nods, Eddie rode off to a different direction then their home.
- Where are we going, Eds?
Steve huffed a laugh. He talked about how his day went, how he was so annoyed by the kids and all the same shit. Eddie knew deep down that Steve loved them, so he just nodded along to his lover.
The place they got to was beautiful, it was right on edge of town, so up that you could see the whole city below them. Steve turned to Eddie.
- Oh, Eds, you didnt have to take me here.
- I love you, Steve Harrington.
- I love you, Eddie Munson. – He said back
Eddie laughed, he then got out of the car, walking over to Steve’s side and opening the door for him, helping him out onto the cold air of the night.
- Okay, so...uh, the reason I brought you here.
Eddie fiddled with his jacket, he looked at Steve.
- Well Steve, I love you, since I can recall, I love you ever since High school. You and your stupid hair, I couldnt help but feel attracted by that crap.
Steve laughed quietly, then nodded, letting Eddie continue his little speech.
- Anyways, ever since I became a vampire, and you kinda of too, I feel safe, especially with you, knowing that you’ll protect me, and that I can protect you as well. And im forever grateful for you Steve, that’s why I...
He got down on one knee, and Steve gasped, his hands moving up to his mouth in a surprised manner. Eddie hands trembled as he pulled a small box from his back pocket, he looked at Steve eyes as his started to water, the same for his lover.
- Steve, I want to pass eternity with you, forever and ever, never let go, be by your side, on your downs and ups. Will you marry me?
Steve started crying harder, he nodded fast.
- Yes! Yes Eds! I’ll marry you!
He said sobbing as he hugged Eddie, Eddie hugged him back just as tight. They kissed sweetly under the moonlight, both alone in their own little world. Now they would live eternity together, bonded with each other. Steve will be forever grateful for almost dying that day; otherwise, he wouldn’t have reunited with Eddie, and now he feels like the luckiest man alive.
