Carona case of the funnies, insensitive or a great escape?

The entire world has changed the way they view things due the spread of this virus. Panic filled the streets, supermarkets were raided and schools closed at the mention of an influx in covid-19 cases. We have never had anything like this before and the way in which we have chosen to deal with this determines who we have become as human beings and how strong our belief systems really are. One of the most life threatening era's in the world has not only instilled fear in our hearts but it has exposed it and revealed to the world and ourselves who we really are in this time of fear.

Some have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this loss and having to grieve over long and treacherous periods of time for the loved ones who we never had the "privilege"  of saying goodbye to whilst others have merely chosen humor as an escape. What  baffles me most is how so many people around the world, in-spite of the facts, have chosen to create memes and videos that insensitively humored this awful series of events that have already seen too many fatalities to count.

When is the line visible to the offenders, has humor become the escape for those living in fear or has our world become so insensitive that we have lost sight of what makes us human? The even bigger question is , that our human nature could be the very evil thing that we may be consumed by, what life practices and moral compass of direction do we need to follow to escape our ever popular destructive behaviors? When the Carona virus has faded and a cure has potentially been found what will we think of ourselves after this hateful participation has already taken place.

"It is better to live a life of regret than not to have lived at all," some would say but what life would that be if the inhumane things we do bare no consequence and the insensitive behavior that is birthed from the "knowing to much" over powers our common decency and fuels even greater hates in this world. We cannnot afford to spend what would be our final days leaving behind crumbs of an unhinged life. This 2020 instead let us focus on being better humans, through comic relief that did not come at the expense of other peoples lives. Let us become knowledgeable about the things that matter and be kinder to one another. You never know when it may be the last thing you ever do, live the legacy you wish to see.
