Do you think gollum had ticklish feet?

He mentions the cold hard lands gnawing at his feet, meaning they tend to be hurting. I think he might enjoy a gentle touch when the cuts heal but maybe not if he's already got cuts on them and they're aching.

Emotionally I think Sméagol would like to be tickled if his feet arent all wounded just because he wants somebody to touch him and laugh with him

Just finished an LOTR rewatch and went to look for my new toxic otp and

Seriously, only 23 other people have had this thought?? In the vast expanse of LOTR fic, one of the most iconically fanficable series of all time?

They're two sides of the same coin. The red string of fate is strangling both of them. Their relationship canonically is filled with heartbreak, betrayal, and yearning for redemption. Each wants to be the others salvation but they're both doomed to fail bc their birth so damaged. Both of them have giant sad eyes. One of them is a habitual nudist who's always wrestling the other. Gollum and Sam are always butting heads over jealousy and there's a significant plot point where Gollum sabotages their relationship.

So rare for people to see the appeal in this pairing which is crazy to me. YOU UNDERSTAND.

Would you like them to change the title of The Hunt for Gollum? What do you think they might come up with?

I think they will change it since they said it's just the Working Title. I think it's a good idea to change it, too, since the fan-made shortfilm goes by that name.

Good question. "The Hunt for Gollum" is a really good title that explains exactly what it was and has that Tolkien-esque feel. It also pairs well with titles like "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit". Honestly I'd have them keep it if I didn't think it was a little unoriginal, given the title of the fan-made shortfilm.

Maybe "The Pursuit of Gollum"? "The Finding of Gollum"? (Comparable to "The Finding of the Ring") or simply "Finding Gollum"? (I feel like there should be a "The" in there, though, seeing how almost every LOTR/HOBBIT film, and book, has "The" in the titles haha)

I love that we get to see from the Ring's point of view for a second. The Ring has never been more cherished! Who has ever claimed the Ring and smiled THAT BIG!! If I were the Ring, I'd be totally happy being cherished by this little guy for eternity.

I think it's good evidence of Sméagollum's capacity for love to be honest, like the Ring is pure torture but he's not just obsessed and addicted to it, he LOVES it. (I know he hates it as well but I am making a specific point here)

Por que o Nariz de Sméagol Encolheu?

Sempre me perguntei o que fez o nariz de Sméagol encolher tanto. Que parte de sua evolução causaria isso? Qual seria a vantagem de ter um nariz menor?

Inicialmente, pensei: “Seu nariz não deveria ser MAIOR, já que ele vive na escuridão de uma caverna e precisa de um olfato melhor?”

Mas, refletindo mais sobre isso, percebi que um nariz maior tornaria o ato de cheirar MAIS difícil. Os odores teriam que percorrer uma distância maior dentro do nariz para serem processados.

Então, faz mais sentido que seu nariz seja MENOR e não MAIOR. Os cheiros seriam captados imediatamente ao inspirar, pois chegariam mais rápido aos receptores olfativos.

Outra coisa interessante: o espaço entre a base do nariz e o lábio superior aumentou. Não é que a parte inferior do rosto tenha crescido (na verdade, ela parece menor, especialmente porque suas gengivas estão mais expostas devido à perda de dentes), mas sim que o nariz encolheu, criando mais espaço acima do lábio superior.

Na verdade, quando estou realmente tentando sentir um cheiro, às vezes relaxo a parte inferior do meu rosto para abrir melhor a passagem nasal e permitir a entrada de mais ar. Então, faz sentido que, se Sméagol estivesse fazendo isso constantemente e dependesse muito do olfato ao se acostumar com a escuridão total, seu rosto tenha se transformado dessa maneira por razões evolutivas específicas.
