Day 018
I lost all my progress in writing, but ...
I found a Goomy in Route 14, Shun left to Laverre Town to have some quality time with his Pokemon, and I went to the haunted house with Shauna and didn't tip the man because I didn't believe in his dumb ghost story.
I finally reached Laverre Town and found a clothing store! I bought a coat, although it was pink, but it was getting chilly, so something warm was needed. I wonder how Shun is doing ... well, I should rest up here and get dried off from the swampy Route 14!
Day 017
Bumrushing through Lumiose gym ...
Not stopping, Clemont stepped up and sent out an Emolga! Luke looked at me and I nodded. I raised up the bracelet and the stone that Luke was holding started reacting ... Luke evolved into Charizard X! With a single fiery fang, the Emolga was taken down! Clemont next took out Magneton who Luke tried to bite down again, but the Pokemon stood against the attack! Clemont gave it a Hyper Potion and I took a deep breath as Luke took the initiative and slashed the Magneton. It didn't do much, but I was hoping it's enough that it won't stand against the fiery bites of Luke again. Once again, Luke charged at the defending Pokemon and finished it off! One more to go ... a Heliolisk was brought out! With no intent to stop, Luke bit down on the defending Pokemon and took it out in one go ... the battle was over. Thanks to Luke, I won against the Lumiose Gym Leader!!
Clemont's little sister looked confused to see her older brother lost, but he shrugged it off, telling her it's all part of learning and having a great challenger for him. I sighed and thanked him for the battle. He smiled and reached his hand out, with the Voltage Badge in his palm. His sister, Bonnie, handed me a TM disc and explained it was Thunderbolt. I thanked them both and Clemont started talking about Pokemon and science. I told him that if he was ever to go to Kanto, he might meet Bill ... and with a glimmer in his eyes behind those foggy glasses, I knew he was excited.
As I left the gym, I got another Holo Clip; this time from Sycamore. He asked me to meet him at Lysandre Cafe. The red cafe was just near the Pokemon Center and I went in. I saw Sycamore talking to Lysandre and I waved at them. The professor waved back and told me that he was talking to Lysandre about Mega Evolution. The tall red-haired man congratulated me as well and told me he wished he would be able to use it one day to make the world beautiful. Beauty this, beauty that ... Sycamore said that the man is of royal ancestry so he is a chosen one. He rambled about the king's younger brother ... ugh, what is this even all about? The story is super old, according to him, so of course it might not even be reliable ...
Sycamore suddenly asked me where the Holo Caster was made and I jumped! I was thinking too much ... and I nodded. The Caster was made by Lysandre's corporation. Sycamore started complimenting the man left and right and Lysandre rambled about different types of people ... and how he wishes to be the person who gives ... and something about foolish people ...
Foolishness, foolishness. I feel like I'm just hearing a broken record of a man who just can't stop talking about beauty ... he just seems fishy. He started rambling more to use about the legendary Kalos king who unleashed a dangerous weapon. He walked towards me, and I quickly took a step back. He grabbed something from his pocket and handed it to me. It was a King's Rock! Lysandre thanked me for listening and as an apology for taking up my time. Fashionably walking away, Sycamore complimented him once more of how passionate the man was. I groaned a bit and told the professor that he was kind of silly. He laughed and told me not to bother since the way he looks at things is just one way and it's not necessarily the truth.
He grabbed my shoulders and shouted my name! He started exclaiming the importance is how much time my Pokemon and I spent together!! I nodded vigorously and hoped he would let go of me soon ... everyone is so strange here! I really miss my home country already!! He thanked me and apologized for taking my time and I nodded again and again. Once I left, I received a holo clip from Trevor ... uhh, I'm really tired and wanted to rest, but I'll see how he's doing.
Trevor told me that everyone was going to meet on Route 14 so I should head on over. I nodded and he clicked off.
Day 016
Lumiose's Gym ... I'll come back another time.
Right now, I can't battle them. I need to re-train my Pokemon after I lost North. Plus, the gym leader is electric type and Hiryuu and Luke would be weak against those Pokemon types. I taught Luke Fly and flew back to Camphrier Town to train in the Battel Chateau. I might as well do this for the rest of my time. I brought in Alvis and Garren after returning Axel and Riley into the box. I had to be careful, and to be careful, I needed to train harder.
Well, after tonight's hard training, I'll be able to fight the Lumiose Gym Leader for sure!!
Day 015
Route ... uh, another Holo Clip?
It's from ... Lysandre! Strange ... how did he get my number? Wait, I remember that he was the corporation who made the Holo Clip ... anyways, it seemed like Sycamore told him how I can wield Mega Evolution na dhow he hopes it will steer my future towards the better. He then went on about making the world beautiful and turned off ...
Geez, what a weird guy! As I was heading towrdas Route 13, the two kids shouted at me. I freaked out as they slowly approached me. The two giggled at my reaction ... they told me they were investigating the power outage and gave me another part of the Pokedex ... the Mountain range. Sina tilted her head to the side as she looked at me. I asked her what was wrong and she shook her head, telling me it was nothing. The two then left to the road ... what a strange pair.
The Lumiose Badlands were super duper windy!! And full of sand ... while trying to walk around, a wild Gible leapt out! Hiryuu jumped in front and was ready to battle, but he realized that he was much stronger than it ... I told him to stay back and sent out Luke since he had more HP and was able to take the blows while I tried to catch the wild Pokemon. As I threw several Greatballs and Pokeballs, the Gible wouldn't stay in! Scared I might defeat it, I couldn't risk wasting anymore balls ... I asked Luke to slash it, but to not hurt it too much ... uh, I don't even know if he can! But Luke gave it a scratch and with luck, the Gible was still alive! I grabbed a few Pokeballs and Greatballs again, but it still wouldn't stay in!! Finally using a Preimierball ... one ... two ... three ... CLICK! I caught a Gible! Garren was transferred to the box.
Walking around in the badlands, I kind of lost where I was going ... I ran into a Team Flare grunt though! And i easily finished him off thanks to Hiryuu and North. He started mumbling about the power plant and how he dropped the pass to get in ... guess I know what to find! I found the Power Plant Pass thanks to my dousing rod. I asked the grunt what would happened if someone found the pass and he said it would be a terrible hot mess! Ehehe ... he ran off searching for the pass and I went on ahead to the Power Plant!
Taking my sweet time, I ran into another grunt, humming a strange tune while saying "knock, knock" and "who you, you who" ... after a pause he seriously asked me who I was. I fumbled to make a pose of the previous grunt, but he started laughing at me! How embarrassing!! Sending out his Pokemon, it was another battle!! Afterwards, the grunt ran off, telling the other personnels ... guess I really am not invited here, but I should really see what's going on ahead!
"Fool, do you really think a kid like you can just barge in?" YES! One by one, each grunt was taken down by my team of Pokemon. Battling the last grunt, who had a Scraggy, I sent out North. Without knowing, the Scraggy crit North with a high-jump kick, sending him back at me. Holding onto him, I let my Pokemon not let the hit get to him, but North didn't budge ... huh? Hey, this isn't a joke ... North? He stayed silent as I kept shaking him ... n-no way ... "You know that it has a four-times weakness against fighting, right? Scraggy is a fighting/dark-type Pokemon!" I instantly sent out Luke who charged at the Pokemon and took it down. The grunt, frightened, sent out her next Pokemon, but Luke finished each one instantly.
Sitting down on the metal floor, I took a deep breath ... I was full of myself ... and this is what I received. I apologized to North several times, hoping he would wake up, but nothing came from him ... not even a breath. I heard footsteps behind me, but it wasn't a grunt. A bald man and a strange woman with orange hair wondered what a little kid was doing at the Power Plant. As the man brought out his Houndoom to finish the business, Hiryuu jumped in to fight! He took it down with ease, but the battle wasn't over. The woman stepped in front and gave me a smirk. Introducing herself as Aliana, who was one of Team Flare's scientist, sent out a Mightyena. Hiryuu didn't hold back and blasted the Pokemon with his mighty water attacks. Truly, the battle in the Power Plant was over ...
Team Flare disappeared and two strangers ran up to me to see if I was okay. It was ... Sina and that other boy that I forgot the name of ...? What were they doing here ... with a mask and scarf on ...? The girl healed my Pokemon, but I asked her if she was able to revive North. She looked at my Amaura and lowered her head. The boy handed me a few full restores and told me to be more careful next time. I apologized and they both picked me up from the ground.
Slowly making my way south, I saw a really tall man in front of me ... h-he looked like a giant!! He mumbled something about a flowery Pokemon that was given eternal life and walked away ... c-creepy! As I finally reached Lumiose City, I heard Shauna call my name. She exclaimed happily how the power to Lumiose was back and she can finally check out the other places around the city. She wondered who was the one who stopped the bad guys from stealing the power and I shrugged. She laughed and told me there was someone just as strong as me to take down the bad guys. I laughed and she grabbed my hand to reach the prism tower. As she pulled me ahead she saw someone she recognized. Clemont, the Gym Leader of Lumiose, was a friend of Shauna's. Clemont's little sister waved at her and the lights on the tower lit up brightly.
Clemont's little sister asked if I was a challenger and I nodded. She explained how the tower itself was the city's gym. Pretty interesting ... Shauna wished me luck if I ever took on the gym and I thanked her. Right now, I think I need to train again ... it was a mistake for me to have lost North and it could have been avoided ...
I returned to the Pokecenter and took out Riley, the Lucario Korrina gave to me ... or he's the one who chose me instead. I apologized to him, but promised to do my best to be a great trainer for him. Time to train at all cost!!
Day 014.5
To the next route ... huh?
As I was about to leave, Shun stopped me and handed me a disc. "It's the HM Surf which you can use to travel over the water. I'll battle you again sometime. That's the best way to get strong, after all." As I headed over to Route 12 a breeder stopped me and saw my Rumble Badge on my bag. He said he was willing to give me a Lapras, but I already felt bad to not use the Lucario I received from Korrina. I declined the offer, but the breeder insisted that if I wanted it, he's willing to give it to me.
As I walked into the grass, I ran into a Slowpoke. I had one before, but it ... died when I was in Johto. I easily caught the Pokemon, but I wasn't going to use him. Speedy was transferred into Pokebox.
I taught Hiryuu the HM that I received from Shun so I can go across the bay. I groaned since I ran into a cute Mantyke, but since I already caught the Slowpoke, I was unable to get it ...
I reached a cute little farm called Baa de Mer Ranch and rode on the Skiddo! I wonder if I can do that with my Skiddo ... well, I can think about that later! I went on and finally reached Coumarine City. Walking my way down the paved path, I received another Holo Clip. It's from Shun!
"Lyn, I challenge you to a battle in front of the Gym! You'd better be ready!" The clip turned off and I sighed. Glad to know there's a gym here though! I needed to heal my Pokemon up first! As I looked around the city bay, a fisherman stopped me and asked me about fishing Pokemon. He handed me a Good Rod and went on his way. People here sure are really nice!
Running around town, I found the hotel, but no Pokecenter was seen! Maybe I need to take the monorail? As I entered the building, I saw the professor speaking to ... Diantha? Sycamore turned towards me and waved. "I see you finally obtained everything you need for Mega Evolution! A Mega Stone, a Mega Ring, and a strong bond between the two!"
Diantha looked at him, questioning what he meant. "It's only a hypothesis, but I think the bond between Pokemon and their trainer is the key to this new Evolution! There's so much we don't know though ..." The two sparked a conversation together about the Mega Evolution and the legendary Pokemon in Kalos region ... I wonder if they already forgot I was here ... "Oh, right! I came to give you this!!" Sycamore handed me another disc ... it was HM Fly! "Well then, Lyn ... Diantha, I hope to see you both again soon!" And the professor was gone.
Diantha walked beside me and smiled. "Bonds ... they really are important to us all, aren't they? When I'm acting, I think I'm always trying to forge a bond between myself and the character I'm playing ... it would be hard if I didn't or I would hate the character ... oh, never mind me! I'm just babbling ... say, where is that young boy you were with in Lumiose?" Oh, she meant Shun! I told her my brother was waiting at a gym to battle me, but I needed to head there first. She nodded and told me that if we meet next time, we'd battle. Excited, I promised we would, too!
As she left, I went to take the monorail. As I reached the other stop, I wonder if I was still in Coumarine City. I wonder what the monorail was for ... probably to get over the waters. There was a Pokecenter nearby, and I gladly went in to heal my Pokemon. The city was rather small actually ... it was more like ... far apart. I found the gym, but Shun was nowhere to be found. I waited a bit and then saw him running towards me. Without a word, we sent out our first Pokemon!
"The reason I wanted to meet you is that I want to see Mega Evolution in action, sis. Whether you use it or not is up to you, but I want to know about things that make Pokemon special." His Meowstic was out first and I had Hiryuu ready for battle. His Meowstic flinched Hiryuu, but he washed the Pokemon away with Surf! Shun sent out his Quilladin and I brought out Charizard. Since Shun was so eager to see a Mega Evolution, I let Luke to mega-evolve ... Mega Charizard! He looked at it in awe, and I was pretty surprised myself! Luke looked super awesome!! The Quilladin was blown back by the flaming burst! Shun sent out his last Pokemon, Absol who did a qucik attack against Luke, but he finished off the defending Pokemon with a fiery bite. The battle was over, and I was the winner!
Shun scratched his head and shrugged. "Sometimes I forget how strong you are. Even though we're twins, there's a gap in our strength ... do you have something I don't? I guess I have to think about that ..." I told Shun to not worry, but he brushed it off while he laughed. "Hey, good luck with your Gym Battle. I know you can do it!"
I nodded and went it after he turned away to walk off. Coumarine Gym was full of grass-type Pokemon, but that doesn't mean I let Luke finish everyone off so easily. I know that North was able to shine this time as well, since he was a ice-type Pokemon. The gym was like ... a jungle! I had to swing on vines and be careful of my step on the nets ... ah, geez. So high up!! I remembering holding onto dear life back in the first gym in Johto against Falkner ... I don't want to think about it ... it was just too scary!!
I ran into a Pokemon Ranger who had a Ferroseed. At first I though North would be okay, but its metal claw attack was super effective against him!! I quickly returned him and sent out Luke. With a burst of flames, the Ferroseed as taken out. Giving a huge sigh of relief that North was alright, the battle wasn't done yet. The next Pokemon was a Lombre, which I have never seen before, but I sent out Lorelei to battle. The Pokemon made her flinch, but in the next turn, her extrasensory attack brought it down easily. Carnivine was next but my Charizard finished it off. The battle was over and everyone was safe. I healed up North and returned to climbing up the tower.
Finally reaching the top, I looked around and saw the Gym Leader hidden in a small room. A library ... or an office? The gym leader gave a strange feel ... he looked like a war officer ... a very old war officer. He introduced himself as Ramos who created the gym to be a garden playground. Twirling his scissors, he brought out a Pokeball ... oh! Time to battle!!
His Pokemon were Jumpluff, Weepinbell, and Gogat, but Luke finished them all one by one! Piece of cake ... I won! I cheered happily and high-fived Luke. Ramos clapped and congratulated me on my win. He slipped the badge in my hand and clasped my hand tightly. "Yeh believe in yer Pokemon ... and they believe in yeh, too ... mighty oaks from acorns grow." He also handed me a disc with the TM Grass Knot and I thanked him several times. He showed me the way out and I slide back down to the bottom of the tower!
Healing up my Pokemon, I think that was enough for the day ... time to get some rest and head on to the next gym tomorrow!
Day 014
To the Tower of Mastery!
I got up first thing in the morning and ran straight to the large tower looming over Shalour City. Once I entered, the guru told me that Korrina was waiting for me at the top of the tower. As I looked at the statue once more, I realized it looked a bit like a Lucario ... something was a bit off about it ... needless to say, I went straight for the stairs and started my journey upward!
As I finally reached the top, I saw Korrina looking over the balcony. She saw me and smiled. "When I'm here with my Pokemon, looking at the wide-open sky above, all my worries disappear and I feel like I can do anything!" She rolled towards me and thanked me for coming. "It was decided that this must be the place where the Mega Ring is handed over. Something about making sure we never forget to set our sights as high as the sky. And here it is ... your very own Mega Ring!"
She handed me a bracelet and I put it on my left wrist. Her Lucario stared at me intently and she turned towards it, asking what was wrong. The Pokemon growled and walked really close to me. "You want to battle alongside that Trainer?" I looked up, surprised that it was asking for that. Korrina rubbed her chin and sighed. "I'm a bit shocked that some traveling trainer seems to have a stronger bond with you than I do ... you really must be something special then Lyn!"
"Oh, how about it? Will you and Lucario battle against me and my Lucario? They both have Lucarionite in hand!" I got flustered and asked the Lucario if it was alright. The Pokemon nodded and stood in a fighting stance. "Heh, I can feel his passion ... perhaps he just doesn't want to lose to the other one, or maybe it's on the same wavelength as you ... whatever, let's battle!"
Our Lucario jumped in front of us, both reacting to the Mega Ring. I called out Lucario to bone rush the defending Pokemon, bringing its health down. Korrina's Lucario power-up punched my Pokemon and almost defeated him. Taking a deep breath, I nodded at Lucario who looked back at me, giving me a smirk. He powered up his fist as well and defeated the other Lucario!
Korrina caught her Lucario from falling and gave a sigh of relief. "What an incredible bond you have! What amazing power ... an explosive battle! I could tell that both Mega Lucario didn't hold anything back!" She cooed her Lucario softly, making sure he was alright and I gave her a Potion just in case. She thanked me and put her hand on my shoulder. "Lyn, with strong bonds like that, you shouldn't have any trouble triggering your Pokemon's Mega Evolution! I think it would be best if you took that Lucario along with you on your journey."
I smiled and shook my head. The Lucario looked at me confusingly, but I told them that it would be a waste for me to have the Pokemon since my journey was best with the Pokemon I have with me right now. "You two really make a great team though ... as long as you two have the kindness to care for each other and give each other courage. I'm sure even Lucario is willing to be cheering for you on the side." The Lucario stared at me intently; it wasn't going to budge at all. I sighed and relented. I nicknamed him Riley and promised that if I ever needed his help, I would surely go ask him. Korrina smiled and thanked me for taking the Lucario. I nodded and told her that I felt almost ashamed to think I would reject a Pokemon's feelings.
As I returned to the Pokecenter, I remember getting a stone from Professor Sycamore for my Charmander. Can it also mega-evolve, too? I let Luke hold the stone and waited a bit ... hmm, I guess I need to wait until it's actually in battle, huh? I stretched my back and smiled.
Well, I guess I need to keep going then!
Day 013
Shalour's Gym Leader ... here I come!
As I defeated the other trainers, a slope raised from the side towards the middle. Keeping my balance to reach the middle, Korrina swung in and twirled around. Ending with a kick, she shouted "Time for Lady Korrina's big appearance!"
Taking off my skates, I walked up to her and she looked at me surprised. "Not a fan of skating? Well, that doesn't mean anything as a Pokemon trainer! I already know you're a strong trainer so let's get this show on the road!"
She sent out Mienfoo and I let Lorelei into battle. Her Mienfoo faked out my Meowstic, making her flinch, but the next turn, she easily brought down the Pokemon. Korrina started hoping a bit ... she looked like she was only getting started! Leaving Lorelei out, she sent out a Machoke next! Lorelei finished it off easily. Korrina returned her Machoke and kissed her next Pokeball, a Hawlucha was brought out! Lorelei's psyshocking move couldn't finish it in one go, so Korrina used a Hyper Potion on it twice each time Lorelei brought it to critical health ... in the end, my Pokemon was the winner! Korrina was out of Pokemon ... I have defeated the Shalour City Gym Leader!
"N-no way! Oh! I have been defeated! Alack, alay! Lady Korrina gave a terrible display!" Korrina fell on her knees dramatically. I helped her up as she laughed. "This is it. I must give up my title and admit that your strength far exceeds--huh? Kidding! But here's your badge!" She tossed a Rumble Badge at me and winked. She explained how I can have Pokemon up to level 50 listen to me and to be able to use the HM Surf outside of battle. SHe also handed me a TM known as Power-Up Punch.
"You'll have to make it up to the top of the Tower of Mastery if you want the Mega Ring. I'm sorry for sending you this way and that. I swear, I'm not givng you the runaround!" I laughed and reassured her it was alright. She nodded and then quickly grabbed my hand. "I'd like to ask you a favor! Battle me again, won't you? But this time, it won't be another Gym Battle ... I want a battle between equals! As two trainers who can use Mega Evolution!! I'll be waiting for you with Lucario at the top of the Tower of Mastery!"
And she zoomed away. I shifted my hat and smirked. I can't wait then!
Day 012.5
Oh ... I reached Shalour City ...
It was already evening ... geez, I was resting a bit too long, huh ... as I walked ahead, I ran into Trevor and Tierno. They were talking about how the professor told them to find the Mega Evolution guru, but I told him I wanted to check out the gym. I ran off a bit and started visiting the northern area. Tierno followed me and asked me if I wanted to see something cool. I asked him if it was a new dance, but he held out a stone in his hand. "Looks cool, huh? I got it from this person called the wandering stone collector for showing off my dance moves! It ... it might be a Mega Stone!"
I looked at it closer, but then he pushed it in my hand. "H-here! I want you to have it because you're such a great Trainer and all ..." I thanked him for the item and his face went a bit red. Confused, I told him I need to find the gym leader so I needed to hurry. He stopped me once more, trying to stutter something out. "Oh, up ahead is the Tower of Mastery. S-Sooo cool! Well, I'll call Trevs to go with me. Go on ahead, okay?" And Tierno ran off. I went to visit the gym, but a butler blocked the way telling me that the leader was under some intensive training. She's probably at the tower then!
As I entered the tower, I saw a large statue of a ... uh ... I never seen that type of Pokemon before. I looked around and saw a door below the statue. Entering in, I saw the gym leader and an old man. Uh ... h-hello? "You must be Lyn, then. Sycamore told me you would be coming. I'm called the Mega Evolution guru. I guess you could say I'm an acquaintance of his. Come here for a moment, will you?"
I nodded as I closed the door. As I got closer, he looked around. "I thought he gave five kids a Pokedex. Isn't there anyone else with you?" Tierno and Trevor barged right in. They introduced themselves and I suddenly remembered the stone Tierno gave me. Taking it out of my bag, I told the guru that Tierno found it. The guru looked at Tierno, who suddenly flailed. "Uh, it was you who found it, Lyn!"
"it doesn't matter who found it. What's important is that you were honest. If you tell lies, the truth is clouded and eventually lost ... just so you know, that rock is just an ordinary rock." He looked behind us and wondered if everyone else have arrived. I sighed and put the rock back in my bag. The gym leader tapped my shoulder while the guru walked off to see what was the commotion outside. "Glad you made it to Shalour City! Luccario is in its Pokeball, but it's really happy yo see you! Let's go check what's going on outside!"
Once we exited, I saw Shauna and Shun as well. Shauna waved at me excitedly while still clinging onto Shun. I wonder how he's dealing with her ... I would almost think they were going out ... "How are your Pokemon?" he asked. I told him they were doing well and Hiryuu evolved into a Greninja.
"I forgot to introduce my granddaughter, Korrina. She's the Gym Leader of Shalour City." R-right! Her name was Korrina ... I forgot about it the whole time I saw her ... yet she remembered mine ... I guess I don't need to tell her yet, but I still feel bad. "Anyways, I supposed I should explain Mega Evolution to you all. I assume you know about Pokemon evolution?"
"I know!" Shauna waved her hand. "You have your Pokemon battle a lot, and then they grow stronger and evolve! Some Pokemon need stones while other Pokemon need certain items to evolve."
"Some Pokemon evolve through friendship, while others evolve in certain places," Shun continued. "I'm guessing there's another way Pokemon can evolve as well known as Mega Evolution."
"Exactly! It's an evolution that transcends all other evolution! Mega Evolution is a transformation of Pokemon that were thought to be unable to evolve any further! It's a whole new level of power!"
"But unlike evolution, it's more of a transformation because it ends after a certain amount of time. In other words, it's a temporary Evolution," the guru finished. "Still, little is known about it. We just know that it required special items. And the most important element is the trust between Pokemon and Trainer."
"Trust ..." Shun looked at his Quilladin in his Pokeball. "in other words, the bond between trainer and Pokemon."
A Mega Stone for the Pokemon and a Mega Ring which has a mysterious stone set in it for the trainer. Since the professor entrusted each one of you with a Pokedex, I would like to give these items to all of you, but ..."
"But what? Just say it already!" Shauna whined.
"I only have one Mega Ring and it's a very precious item. That's why my research isn't getting anywhere ... so I want you all to decide among yourselves which one of you will be the one who challenges the Mega Evolution successor."
We all looked at each other for a bit. Tierno, Trevor, and Shauna all backed away from the deal, each having their own reason. The three looked as Shun and me. Suddenly, Shun raised his hand. I guess he's more interested in it since he spoke to me a lot about it, and he's always doing things for me so it's alright! "Hey, sis, let's battle for it."
H-huh!? I told him that it was alright if he wanted it, but it seemed like he had something to resolve. He sent out his Meowstic and I let Luke out to battle. Luke blasted out a dragon rage while his Pokemon protected itself with a light screen. With a single fiery bite, his Pokemon fainted. Returning his Meowstic, Shun sent out Absol and I sent out Linette. The Absol went first and did a critical slash attack against her! Her fairy wind was super effective against it, but didn't do so much. Returning Linette, I sent out Luke again who defeated his Absol with another fiery fang!
Shun sent out his Quilladin and I smiled and sent out Hiryuu. Shun looked at me and shook his head. "You know my Pokemon four times stronger than yours, right?" Confused, his Quilladin's needle arm attack stabbed straight at Hiryuu, doing critical damage! Afraid that he might get killed, it looked like Shun was holding back ... Hiryuu was in critical health and I quickly returned him. Letting Lorelei finish the battle, I checked for Hiryuu's pulse to see how he's doing. "Sorry. Your bonds with your Pokemon are really strong. Geez, to think my little sister will be better than me even now ... but I'm sure you'll be able to Mega Evolve your Pokemon!"
"There may be winners and losers, but you two are the real winners in my book!" Korrina exclaimed happily, hugging both of us. "Mega Evolution is just one way to make Pokemon stronger, but there are many other ways to bring out the strength of their Pokemon with it!"
Shun nodded and gave me a fist bump. The guru laughed and said that I should challenge Korrina first before he's willing to hand over the Mega Ring to me. "My mysterious trainer, Lyn, my Lucario may ahve taken a shine to you, but now I must test you to see if you're ready to challenger the Mega Evolution successor!" she shouted excitedly before rolling her way out of the tower. "I'll be waiting for you!"
We slowly left the tower and thanked the guru about telling us about the strange new ability of Pokemon. As the three other kids went off talking about the battle and Mega Evolution, Shun stayed by. Asking him how he was feeling, Shun shook his head and sighed. "I must be doing something wrong ..."
I disagreed and told him that he was getting much better and learning faster than I would've expected. "Heh, but you're a natural talent. That's one way you can show mastery as a trainer, sis."
"Oh, Shun, let's go! Hey, Lyn, I think you and your brother are going to compete against each other and get really strong! I want to be a great trainer like you guys some day!!" Shauna shouted out of nowhere. How did she get beside us!? Shun jumped back, but Shauna quickly caught his arm. "Come on, let's go! Let's go!!"
As he was dragged away, I waved farewell for the time being. It was really late now ... tomorrow, I should train and battle against Korrina!
Day 012
Oh, it's raining today ...
I sighed and tried to run after him, but I heard Shun call out to me. He asked me if someone from Team Flare was just around and I nodded. He was ... but not anymore. Shun looked at his map and wondered what the grunt was up to. "That leads to a dead end ... maybe it's their hideout?"
I went with Shun to the dead end ... and it was a dead end for sure. A metal building seemed to be hidden behind the rocks, but neither of us were able to budge it. "We'll find out what that guy was doing later ... I'll see you later, Lyn!"
And with that, Shun went off. Time for me to go to the next city as well! As I was about to head east, I saw that Gym Leader with her Lucario again. She rolled up to me and said her Lucario wanted to battle me! I shook my head and said it was quite sudden, but one of her Lucario growled at me. Hiryuu jumped in front and gave me a nod ... both of them wanted to battle!!
Hiryuu blasted a water pulse and the Lucario tried to attack him with Metal Sound, my Frogadier was able to dodge the attack. The first Lucario was taken down and Hiryuu croaked ferociously! The second Lucario was sent out and Hiryuu took it down as easily as the first. Once the defending Pokemon fell down on the ground, I told the Gym Leader that we should be fighting ... she laughed and looked at me surprised. "Not even my ultra-powerful Lucario duo could stand up to you, huh!? Now I see why Lucario likes you so much!" I was still confused, but the girl kept talking. "So you remember that I'm the Gym Leader in Shalour City? Once you get past the cave just beyond here, you'll be there, so stop by and say hello!" She rolled off right afterwards ... w-what? I guess she wants to battle me in the gym later.
The next route was Route 11 where there were several trainers and many wild Pokemon. A ran into a horde of Stunky!! I let Lorelei battle them, but I was trying to be careful to not let her get gravely injured ... ugh, just battling a group of them is scary! She was able to take them all down to low health with Disarming Voice, but she was already getting weak. I returned her and sent out Hiryuu to finish the business. One of the Stunky poisoned him ... geez, should I even waste my time trying to catch on? Suddenly, Hiryuu shook his head and smiled at me ... he wasn't poisoned anymore! Was he able to expel the poison that easily? I smiled and told him to finish the battle! Slowly but surely, Hiryuu took down each Stunky one by one until there was one left. I grabbed a Pokeball and threw it at the remaining Stunky ... critical catch! Esmy was tranferred to the box.
As I continued walking down the road, I received a Holo Clip from Professor Sycamore! "Looks like you've almost made it to Shalour City! Fantastique! Looks like your journey with your Pokemon around the Kalos region is going swimingly! I wanted to let you know about a person in Shalour knows a great deal abut Mega Evolution. If you have a second, you should give him a visit!" And with that, the holo clip was over.
Next place was Reflection Cave, and past that was Shalour City! based off of what the professor said, I would finally be able to learn more about Mega Evolution there. The cave walls were literally reflective enough to be able to see myself! I ran into a Roggenrola and was about to let Hiryuu finish it off, but its sturdy body kept him alive! It also got confused, but right when I was about to throw a Pokeball at it, it hit itself due to its confusion and fainted. Hiryuu and I looked at one another and shrugged.
While fighting a Battle Girl, Lorelei was battling a Hawlucha and was about to be defeated due to the defending Pokemon's Aerial Ace, but she was able to withstand the blow and finished it off with a electrical charge beam!
After defeating another trainer, Hiryuu started glowing brightly. He was evolving already!? He became a Greninja!! He looked so cool! As I kept blabbing about how awesome he looked, I didn't realize Tierno was nearby. He called out to me, and I apologized with my sudden spazz. He didn't mind since he thought Pokemon evolving was really cool as well. I asked him what he was doing here, and he explained to me that he was heading to Shalour City as well, but wanted me to try out a new Pokemon move called Flash, which lessened the amount of Pokemon turning up. Handing it to me, he laughed and wished he was as good as me. I shook my head and told him to keep trying! I thanked him for the TM and went on ahead!
There is a lot of wild Pokemon in the cave, but my Pokemon were able to get through them easily, although it was troubling ;; Shifting around the cave was a bit crazy as well. Luke evolved into a Charizard and we finally got out! Oh boy, I'll worry about everything later ... I think I need a break from the cave!
Day 011
Onward to Route 10, also known as Menhir Trail!
And afterwards I just beat him up. What a creep! He got up after returning his Pokemon into their balls and wondered why I kept defeating him. I shrugged and told him to back off since he was seriously getting on my nerves. As I went through the area, there were more Team Flare members around ... I have to be careful. I needed Lorelei, Axel, and North to train, but I didn't want them to be badly injured.
I reached Geosenge Town and saw a grunt happily roaming around ... I'm not all for ruining someone's fun, but they really have been trying some strange things ... I returned to Route 10 to train and ran into a Hawlucha. At first I was going to catch it, but it brought Lorelei down badly, so she critically defeated the defending Pokemon. I sighed, hoping to get another Pokemon, but I didn't want my Espurr to be defeated by a wild Pokemon. As I was taking her back, she started glowing ... ah! Lorelei evolved into a Meowstic!
I went to visit the other places in Geosenge Town and went into the hotel. A girl handed me a ribbon to my Amaura. It was a simple ribbon, but also very cute ... I kind of wanted to give it to my Meowstic, but a ribbon is a ribbon! It's really nice nonetheless!
Once I left the hotel, I heard the sound of chirping ... it was my aunt's Fletchling! It had a letter in its talons and it flew down at me. It was a letter from my aunt alking about how she received a stone from a mysterious sender from the Hoenn region. I was a bit confused at first since the time I was in Hoenn was in the future, but as I read more and more, it seems like the trainer who sent the stone knew about my adventure ... how ... strange, really. I accepted the stone and realized Linette was floating really close to it. I smiled and thanked the Fletchling as it flew off.
Linette got close to it, but I told her to be careful, not wanting something to happen to her, but she chirped sadly. I told her to not worry and maybe it'll be a give to her! She chirped happily and I told my team we should get back into training! Once we hit the next gym, we'll be ready to go!!
Day 010.5
Cyllage City!
Once I entered the city, I ran straight into the boutique nearby! I was really tired of the dress I'm having and I really should get something new! Looking through the shop, I bought a tank top and blue skinny jeans ... although it's not my thing, it was better than that dress, even though i it was a really nice dress.
Once I left, I went a little sightseeing and had a good time on the beach a bit, even if it was in the evening. The smell of the ocean breeze with sound of the waves was very calming. Hiryuu croaked and pointed towards the cliff. I looked up and saw a strange figure standing by the edge, but soon it disappeared. How strange ... I told Hiryuu we should check it out and he hopped up and ran to the cliffside.
Cyllage City was quite a small city on the beachside, but it was paved with cement roads and slowly becoming bigger. It's much more interesting than I expected, but I kind of missed the warmth and old-feel of Johto ... as I finally reached the cliff, I didn't see anyone around, but I saw a little save within the cliff. Was this the Cyllage Gym? And to my surprise ...
... yep. It's the gym ... and a confusing one! It looks like I need to rock-climb my way ... but I really do not like heights ... but if I have to go through the gym to keep moving forward. Once I finally reached the top, the Gym Leader was named ... I realized I never caught his name before.
"I've been waiting in eager anticipation! What have I been waiting for? After seeing you resting with your Frogadier, I was hoping to see you on here! A worthy challenger! Very impressive, actually! it's quite an achievement to have climbed all the way up here. This battle is worth the wait. I hope you'll show me that your skill as a Trainer surpasses even mine. The name's Grant! Let's battle!!"
I sent out Linette while Grant sent out an Amaura. Linette's magical leaves was super effective against it! The amaura did a hefty amount of damage against her, but she was able to take it down. Grant's next Pokemon was a Tyrunt, which I'm guessing was from the Jaw Fossil. I sent out Hiryuu to defeat the Pokemon and BAM! With a quick water pulse attack, the defending Pokemon was down! I have defeated the Cyllage Gym Leader!!
Grant clapped his hands and whooped. "Nice job! I can see you and your Pokemon understand there's still bigger mountains to overcome! To commermorate such an impressive show of teamwork, please accept the Cliff Badge!" He handed me a badge and I thanked him. He also handed me two discs, one was an HM and the other was a TM. "The HM is Strength, and since you finally beat me, you can use it outside of battle! The TM is Rock Tomb. With this move, a Pokemon can hurl rocks at its target. Not only inflicting damage, but also towering the target's Speed and preventing it from moving."
I thanked him again and told him that I was off to the next place. He wished me luck and I slid my way down the man-made mountain. Next Gym, here I come!
Day 010
The morning in Ambrette Town ...
I woke up and cleaned the Pokeballs my Pokemon were in. I guess I should check around and see the Fossil Labs that Shun wanted to go to with me. I saw a Pokeball lying beside me that was already cleaned up ... huh? This was Hiryuu's Pokeball ... I forgot I never asked him to go back into his Pokeball, so it was never really dirty in the first place.
As I left the Pokecenter, I saw Shun waiting outside for me. "Going to sleep any later, Lyn?" I shook my head. Before I was able to ask about my Frogadier, Hiryuu jumped at me and gave me a hug! I fell onto the ground, but I was so relieved to see him again! "Talked to him a bit, so I think you two will do good. Want to check out the labs now?"
I nodded and hugged Hiryuu tightly. He has a smile across his face and croaked happily. I asked Shun what he talked about with Hiryuu, but he shook his head; his way of telling me it's none of my business. Puffing out my cheeks, I followed him to the labs. The town was rather small ... a bit upset there's no Gym Leader around.
As we entered the lab, we were greeted by a scientist who exclaimed happily about fossils. My brother and I looked at each other at first and told the scientist we were mainly interested about Mega Evolution. The scientist brightened up even more and was happy to see Sycamore's students in front of him! Students? What a strange title to call us, really ...
"Mega Evolution, you say ... I'm sorry, but all I know is that it has something to do with mysterious stones ... still, since you're students of the professor, you must know about Pokemon Fossils, correct?"
Shun and I both nodded. I don't know about Shun, but I remember hearing about fossils when I was in the Kanto region. Shun probably researched about it on his own when he had the time. The scientist clapped and told us we should visit the dig site. Shun disagreed since there was nothing about Mega Evolution in the area, but the scientist retorted, telling him that the Pokemon restored from fossils might have something to do with Mega Evolution. I told Shun we should check it out, but he sighed. "As long as I'm here, I guess we can go see that assistant. Let's head to Glittering Cave, Lyn."
We walked through the passage to reach Route 9 and there were two Rhyhorns awaiting. I guess we need to ride them to get through the area. I hopped on one and started riding ahead. I accidentally stepped on a wild Pokemon along the way and my Rhyhorn pulled back! Shun quickly charged beisde me and caught me before I hit the rocky path. I called out Axel battle against the wild Pokemon and have it use Assurance against it.
Shun got me back on my Rhyhorn and told me to be more careful instead of charging straight ahead. The wild Pokemon, although I've never seen it before, was already weak, so I threw a Pokeball and caught it! Opening my Pokedex, I realized the Pokemon was called a Helioptile ... interesting! Alvis was sent into my box.
I thanked Shun for saving me or I might get some bloody bruises. "Be more careful, seriously ... you get yourself into trouble so easily," he grumbled. He turned away and pulled his hair in his face before realizing he didn't have his cap.
As we headed towards Glittering Cave, we ran into a few interesting trainers! I fought a Sky Trainer where the battles are fought in the sky and I let Aria finish off the opponent's Ledia! An Ace Trainer gladly healed my Pokemon as well. And a hiker just told us to be careful and to not run around. I laughed as Shun looked at me with a "I told you" expression. I walked in with him, hoping we won't get lost together.
Once we entered, it was really dark, but there were a few plants that lit the area. It was also tightly spaced ... and just really easily to get lost in! I bumped into a Solrock, but Linette critical hit it. I told her not to worry since the last thing I needed was to be attacked in the cave ...
We got a bit stuck several times, but we finally reached a bigger room. We looked around, but Shun called out to someone. It was a man dressed in bright red! "Well, well What do we have here? Nosy little trainers have come poking around," he spoke as he walked towards us. "Listen up! We're the fashionable team whose very name makes people tremble in fear: Team Flare!"
Shun and I looked at each other and before he could talk more, Shun punched him in the face. He flew back and I told Shun to calm down, but the Flare grunt wuickly got up and threw out a Pokeball! A Houndour came out!!
I sent out Linette, but it kept dragging out my other Pokemon. Once Luka came out of my Pokeball, he blasted a dragon rage at the defending Pokemon! The Houndour was down! Returning his Pokemon, we sent out a Zubat. I returned Luke and let Lorelei into the battle! Her psybeam was super effectve against it! I beat him!!
"Grr ... you may have beaten me, but when I lose, I go out in style!" he shouted angrily. "You're a pretty tough trainer, for a kid. But I'm not the only member of Team Flare!"
Shun was about to go after him, but I stopped him and asked what his problem was. He pulled me off his arm and glared at me. "Team Flare ... they better not do some shitty thing like Team Aqua and Magma ..."
I forgot he went through a tough ordeal when he was traveling with Celebi ... I apologized, but he returned the apology as well as his emotions got the best of him. I told him not to worry and said we should defeat the other Team Flare members. Once we walked past a rail track, one of the grunts saw Shun and called out her Pokemon to battle him! I was about to help Shun, but he told me he was able to fend for himself and I should stop acting like he needed to be taken care of. I nodded and went off to battle the other members!
As I ran off, two members from Team Flare jumped towards me. I was ready to fight back, but Shun ran up from behind me and grabbed a Pokeball from his belt. "Two members, huh? Are you ready to battle alongside me, Lyn? Guess Team Flare will find out how strong us twins are!" I sent out Linette and Shun sent out his Espurr. The two members sent out a Croagunk and Scraggy. Their two Pokemon were taken down easily by ours. I fist bumped my brother and the members ran off past us. "Right, we need to find the scientist."
As we walked, we finally met him, and asked if he was alright. The scientist was confused, so we explained that Team Flare was out trying to find fossils, but he looked even more confused and thought we were talking about a Pokemon ... Shun shrugged and told us to drop the conversation about Team Flare. The scientist was probably too indulged in his work to care what was going on. The scientist turned towards us and showed us two fossils. "I found two fossils, but since I already have both of them, I'll give it to both of you!"
I asked Shun which one he wanted, but he insisted for me to choose first since I was his younger sister. We kept asking each other, but eventually the scientist shoved a fossil into our hands. I received a Sail Fossil while Shun got the Jaw Fossil. "Enough of that, I'll see you guys in the lab to restore your fossils!"
My brother and I watched the scientist dash off. "So, we went looking for the assistant, and we found that suspicious group called Team Flare as well ... still, with those flare people running around, it would be better to train more so we can travel safely. The best thing would be to challenge the Cyllage City Gym." Shun walked on ahead and told me to take care as he will go battle the Gym Leader first. I nodded and waved goodbye to him!
Finally finding my way out of Glittering Cave, I rode the Rhyhorn back to the Fossil Lab. I saw the scientist again and showed him the fossil he gave me. He said he can restore it back into a Pokemon and I nodded. He took the fossil and when he came back, a young dinosaur-looking Pokemon was in his hands. He explained it was an Amaura, which was a Rock/Ice Pokemon. He looked super cute! I named him North ... guess he'll be a new member of my team! I returned Aria and set off to Cyllage City to face the gym leader!!
Day 009.5
Couldn't take a break, haha ;;;
I ran straight past Connecting Cave and was about to go into the next town, but I was stopped by ... Sina and ...? I forgot his name ... but he asked me how my Frogadier was doing and I tried to hold up the big guy, haha! Hiryuu is pretty huge now! They told me my Pokedex needed an upgrade and I handed it over to Sina. She added in some chip and a new part of Kalos was added into the Pokedex ... strange! The two explained how the Kalos Region was split into three regions. I nodded and thanked them as they left to return to Professor Sycamore.
What a strange pair ... but I guess that's something good to know! As we both walked down the mountain in the night, I had to be careful and held onto Hiryuu's hand tightly. For some reason, it reminded me to be close to my Typhlosion in Johto ... SNAP! I let out a yelp and saw Hiryuu croak at me angrily. I sighed and told him to stop acting so jealous! Geez, even though our journey just started and all, we've gotten pretty close, but my first Pokemon means a lot to me! I told Hiryuu to stop being rude and suddenly he let go of my hand ... gosh, I never seen such a Pokemon be so fussy! As he hopped off, I trailed behind him, trying to catch up. As I tried to find my way through the grass, I accidentally bumped into a wild Drifloon! What a peculiar Pokemon. I was about to call out my Frogadier, but he wasn't near by at all!! How can a Pokemon leave their Trainer!?
I sent out Linette and made it use Magical Leaf to slowly take down the wild Pokemon. Slowly, but surely, the Drifloon was in a bit of low health! I took out a Pokeball and threw it! But the wild Pokemon slapped it out of its way!! I never seen such a feisty wild Pokemon ... well, actually, I've seen a lot, but maybe for a Pokemon in the night! I groaned and threw a Greatball and ... the Drifloon was caught! Ymn transferred into the box!
Oh goodness ... I wonder where Hiryuu is. I took out my Pokemon from their balls and asked them to help find him. I let Axel, Linette, and Lorelei stay close to me while Aria and Luke ventured off. We slowly walked our way down the mountain while searching around. We call called out to him, but no sound was returned ... I hope Hiryuu is okay!
As I finally reached Ambrette Town, I told myself to not go to town until I find my Frogadier. "Hey, sis!" I turned around and saw Shun running towards me. "We should go to the Fossil Lab and have them tell us about fossils. Maybe we can learn something about those mysterious stones related to Mega Evolution. I studied a lot of about Kalos once we got here so I can be better in you in something, heh!"
Shun saw my almost in tears and asked me what was wrong and I told him that I couldn't find Hiryuu! He was confused as to why my Frogadier would leave me so I explained what happened and Shun sighed. "Well, you should be more careful in what you say, Lyn," he replied. "Pokemon have feelings, too ... you told me that. Of course they will get jealous, right?"
I nodded, but I told Shun that Taike meant a lot to me, so of course returning on a journey would remind me of my old Pokemon ... Shun patted my head and told me to not worry about it. He said he'll find my Frogadier so I should rest up in Ambrette Town's Pokecenter. At first I disagreed and told him that I should find him myself, but Shun promised he'll stay up to find my Hiryuu. He told me that he didn't want me to feel like I had to lose another Pokemon, but I quickly shushed him since I don't want to think the worst happened to him! I nodded and headed down with my five other Pokemon to let Shun find Hiryuu.
Ughh ... it was getting rather late ... I guess I should rest ... but Hiryuu is still out there ... I hope he's okay!! I lulled my Pokemon to sleep and tried to get some rest myself, but I was too worried about Hiryuu ... I would try to go find him myself, but Shun promised he'll find him ... it'll be okay.
It'll be okay ...
Day 009
Oh, huh? What's Shun doing here?
I nodded and sent out Hiryuu and Shun sent out his Fletchling. Trevor and Tierno sent out Pikachu and Corphish, respectively. Shun was in sync with his Fletchling and we both defeated Trevor's Pikachu. Tierno's Corphish took down his Fletchling, but his Quilladin, Chestnut easily finished it off. Hiryuu defeated Trevor's second Pokemon, Flabebe, afterwards. I high-fived my brother and he smiled. "All thanks to Birdie, yeah?"
I laughed, but again, accepted that he was nicknaming his Pokemon. I sighed and turned to the two. "Everyone sure has a different approach to being a Trainer. Well, that was fun, but I guess we should head to Ambrette Town."
I nodded and told them I was going to get a head start over. There was a cave ahead, but from reading the sign, to get to Ambrette town was a little south. The cave was a bit scary, but I've been to several caves in Johto, so it wasn't too bad. I saw a young nurse inside and asked her if she was okay. She laughed and told me she's willing to heal my Pokemon if needed. I thanked her and I went on ahead. Suddenly, a wild Pokemon jumped out at me! Hiryuu jumped in front and blocked the attack. I fell onto the cold dirt ground, but caught a glimpse of the Pokemon ... it's an wild Axew! I never seen this Pokemon before!!
Since it was the first Pokemon I ran into the cave, I needed to catch it ... maybe I should try to catch it on the spot. I grabbed a Pokeball and threw it! I was surprised how it shook three times ... am I able to catch it!?
CRACK! The Axew jumped out!! Of course, I remember I needed to weaken it, but I was scared to defeat the poor Pokemon ... the Axew suddenly roared a dragon rage at Hiryuu, taking it down past half health ... WHAT THE HELL!?
A-Axew is a dragon type Pokemon ... already!? I didn't even reach to the second gym leader and it's a dragon Pokemon ... usually it's hard to even find it! I ... I needed to catch it! Getting up from the ground, I was afraid Hiryuu might faint so I brought out Spiral. Hoping his poison sting would do a bit damage, he didn't poison the wild Pokemon. Axew blasted another dragon rage and brought Spiral to critical health! Returning my Beedrill, I sent out Luke ... hoping he'll be able to do something more. I called out to ember the Axew since fire moves aren't very effective again'st dragon Pokemon, but Luke burned the Pokemon!
I freaked out and Luke looked at me. I told him not to worry about it, but because he wasn't paying attention to his opponent, the Axew blasted him with a dragon rage! Luke flew back and slammed into my stomach, but I grabbed him to see if he was okay. He looked at me and gave a grunt, letting me know he was okay. He was also in critical health, so I grabbed another ball, an Ultraball this time, and swung it straight at the wild Axew!
One ...
Two ...
Three ...
... Click! The wild Axew was caught!! I cheered and hugged my Charmeleon, but he was badly injured. I ran to the nurse who was near the opening and asked her to heal my Pokemon. She gladly took care of Hiryuu, Spiral, and Luke. "You should be careful in this cave," she said as she bandaged Hiryuu. "The horde of zubats are very scary in here ..."
Zubats? She looked at me and I told her I ran into an Axew! She was surprised that I didn't even run into Zubats when I first entered. She told me the Axew was hard to find, so she congratulated me on the catch as she watched me from behind. I thanked her again and told myself I should return to Camphrier Town to put it on my team.
Once I headed back, I took out Spiral and thanked him for being with me on my journey. He cooed back and accepted to stay within the box. Well, I guess I need to return back to Connecting Team! Welcome to the team, Axel!
Day 008
Time move on ahead in Route 7!
The Snorlax licked Hiryuu which caused him paralysis! I told him to hang in there, but he shook himself up and looked at me with a grin ... he got himself out of it!? I smiled, trying to not let him think I was worried about him, but I guess he already knew ... heh, I called out to tackle the large Pokemon and slowly drain its health! Hiryuu's water pulse brought the Snorlax down to very low health and I quickly grabbed a Pokeball. Throwing it at the Snorlax, I held my breath, but the Pokemon broke free! The Snorlax was already in low health ... w-why!?!? I don't have that many Pokeballs left either ... I threw another Pokeball, hoping it'll stay, but it broke free right away!! Hiryuu was taking the Snorlax's attack one by one ... even though he seemed fine at first, I could tell he wasn't holding up too well.
With one more Pokeball left, I grabbed it and hoped for the best! I threw it with all my might and held my ground ... ONE! TWO! ... THREE! CLICK!! The wild Snorlax was caught! I sighed after taking care of it and watch Hamburger go into my box. Shauna clapped her hands and congratulated me for catching the Snorlax. We all high-fived each other, but the small party was over when the owner of Parfum Castle came by ...
At first I thought he was going to take away the Poke Flute, but he explained how he only put it only display, yet the other man was able to play the lovely tune of it since he was little ... is he thinking of letting his old friend keep it? He still acted rather all high and mighty, but he let him keep the Poke Flute and I gave a sigh of relief. All of them walked up after thanking Shauna and me.
"Was THAT supposed to be an attempt to patch things up?" Shauna growled after everyone left. I laughed and told her to not worry too much about it. "Yeah, whatever! I wonder what lies past where Snorlax was sleeping. I'll see you later!"
Shauna dashed past me once again as I took my time on the road. I saw a strange house with cute little Pokemon in their backyard and stopped to see them. Hearing someone call my name, it seems like Tierno and Trevor caught up to me! Trevor seemed to be interested in the Pokemon Daycare and I asked him if I can follow along, in which they both agreed.
"This is the Pokemon Day Care! They take care of Pokemon for you here," Trevor explained once we walked in. "I seem to remember something good can happen if you leave two Pokemon here."
I smiled while I heard their conversation ... I remember in Johto there was a Pokemon Day Care as well, but it was runned by the grandparents of my friend, Ria. It was kind of nice to see a young couple taking care of Pokemon in the day care ... hmm, I realized I didn't even say good bye to Ria when I left my hometown ... I wonder how she is doing ... hehe, she would probably laugh at me if she saw me wearing this dress ...
Suddenly Tierno ran off and Trevor followed behind. Left alone with the day care couple was a bit strange, so I apologized and promised to return soon. The lady behind the counter asked me happily to let her take care of a few Pokemon and ... I relented.
Oh! I forgot to say, while training last night, Minami was able to evolve into an Azurill! Sadly I already have a water type Pokemon AND a fairy type, I thanked her for being part of my journey and returned her in my box. She seemed sad at first, but I told her I wouldn't forget about her ... EVER! I was also afraid she might get hurt ... but even part of my journey is to take care of my Pokemon!
Returning her, I brought out my Espurr, Lorelei! Some training just needs to be done! And that's why I'm on Route 7! Trevor called out to me while I was walkng on the road and gestured me over to him next to the building. "Do you know about this building? It's called the Battle Chateau, and it's famous for being a place where Trainers gather to improve their skills." I gasped with excitement! I wonder ... how hard is it? At the same time, I was really excited to try it out!! I thanked Trevor for letting me know and barged into the building right away!
Once I entered, I saw the first gym leader, Viola! She recognized me and asked me a strange question ... "What is your title in the nobility?" I asked her what she meant, but she took a step back from shock. "What? You don't have a title!?" After calming down she smiled. "That's a surprise. No one could doubt that a kid as strong as you should have one."
"See, your title here at the Battle Chateau shows everyone just how strong you are. Only a handful of Trainers can join the ranks of the nobility and earn these titles!" Viola explained to me. I nodded excitedly ... this is getting better and better!
A young man that Viola was once talking to asked if she knew me. Viola nodded and she made me show off my Bug Badge. "It appears that Lady Viola has recognized your ability as a trainer, then. It's a pleasure, my name is Hennessy."
I introduced myself as well and Viola pushed me ahead, asking Hennessy if she could be the one to grant the beginning title. "She has the makings of a very strong Trainer, so I'm sure she will contribute to the Battle Chateau!"
Hennessy stammered an agreement right away after seeing the first gym leader so cheery. He looked at me a bit surprised, but smiled. "I, too, sense extraordinary potential emanating from young Lady Lyn. Lady Lyn! You are hereby granted the title of Baroness!"
O-oh goodness!! Too many things happened t-too fast!! What's going on? I already got my title, but so many people just complimenting me back and forth ... I was probably just as red as my skirt ... Hennessy explained how I may be the lowest rank of nobility, but as long as I continue to battle in the Chateau, my victories will increase my rank and title. I nodded and thanked him again.
Once he left, I ran to any trainer I could meet. It's time for some hardcore training, Pokemon!!
After defeating all the trainers, I sighed and stretched myself. Geez, maybe I've been overworking my Pokemon too much ... or just overworking myself! As I was about to leave, the maid stopped me and congratulated me to have the title of Viscountess now. I thanked her and she hoped to see me return again. I smiled and told her I'll be back soon!
I went outside and realized I have yet to catch a Pokemon from Route 7 ... jumped into the flowery grass, I ran into a wild Swirlix! I called out Hiryuu to pound it and it did a critical damage to bring it to low health ... but I forgot to bring Pokeballs!! I groaned and took out a Greatball, hoping that was good enough to catch it ... one, two, three ... click! Swirlix was caught! Gumo was transferred to my box.
Well, it's time for me to train some more outside before I go to the next area!
Day 007
Camphrier Town ... the town where you can taste the ages.
I stretched myself after reading the sign beside the hotel. Guess I should check around this small place. I visited the houses and met a man named Cassius who worked on the PC Boxes. Several people within the homes I spoke to gave me many items, although surprised with how nice they were! Thinking I was done visiting the town, a young boy stopped me and asked if I visited the castle yet. Confused with what he meant, he told me he wouldn't pass unless I went to visit the castle. I looked at Hiryuu and he croaked while pointing towards the north. I wonder how I missed that entirely ...
Shabboneau Castle ... what a strange name. Once I entered, I saw Shauna and she greeted me. I guess this was the town where we might find things about Mega Evolution? The man standing before us talked about the history of the castle, but it was really just all trash. Shauna groaned and asked about Mega Evolution, yet the man knew nothing of it! How strange ...
A man barged into the castle and shouted that something returned. He was the same young man who stopped me! I wonder what he meant ... the man who told us the history quickly left and said he'll be at Route 7 so we had to visit the castle by ourselves.
"What was that all about? I thought we'd find something about Mega Evolution here ..." Shauna sighed. "Hey, Lyn, let's go to Route 7, too! We should check out what they're up to."
I nodded and went off to Route 7. The road split into two ... I went straight ahead first, hoping to see what the commotion was all about. Going down the road, I turned to the left and found a man talking to his little granddaughter. Suddenly he pointed at me and exclaimed that I needed to take care of his berry field! W-What in the world!? Suddenly I was pulled into learning how to farm ... trying to not be rude, I kindly declined and told him I was very busy ... but he didn't stop so I relented and learned ... maybe berries aren't such a bad thing? I'm just not interested right now though! I need to find that man!!
Going on ahead, I saw Shauna behind me and waited for her to catch up. We kept walking and saw the two men standing in front of a Pokemon blocking the bridge ... oh! It's a Snorlax!! The man turned towards me, slightly surprised I knew what Pokemon it was. I told him he needed a flute to wake up, but he didn't seem to have it on him. Shauna asked what the flute I was talking about and the man explained it was what is needed to wake up Snorlax, but it's currently in a different palace.
"Oh, that's it? Lyn, le's go get it!" I nodded and asked where the Parfum Palace was. Shauna was happy to help me out and said it was just past Route 6. Yet, she sounded more excited to learn about Mega Evolutions. I guess Route 6 was the road up north. Well, to Parfum Palace it is!!
Route 6 had a nice path with trees on the side, but on the outside, it was infested with really REALLY tall grass! Fighting past the tourists, I finally reached the castle! It's so huge!! How would I be able to find the flute around here ... I found a photo area and got a picture taken in front of the castle gate by Phil the Photo Guy!
Walking to the gate, an old man who looked like a butler stopped us and told us we had to pay $1000 to enter. I heard a loud "WHAAT!?" from behind and saw Shauna has caught up to me again. Sounds very expensive, but we need to get in either way ...
The butler explained how the owner liked the idea of there is never too much money for one person, but Shauna scowled and exclaimed how that's just how rich people get richer. We both took out $1000 and handed it over to the old man ... geez, this is rather too much to just get in, huh? Once the gates opened, Shauna dashed straight away! I just want to take my time here ... I mean, I paid $1000 for this!!
Once I entered, I saw a man frantically running around trying to find his Furfrou. I wonder what that is ... a name for his Pokemon? "Oh, that's a dog Pokemon ... I guess you've never seen one before?" Shauna asked. I shook my head. There's a lot of new Pokemon I never seen before, really ... "Hey, Lyn! Let's go find it for him! If ... If my Pokemon were lost as well, I'd be sick with worry!"
I went on ahead to find the Pokemon, but I really wanted to check out the other places. I met a backpacker who did a terrible punny joke of how it was "ir-regal" to sleep in the king's bed ... ughh, I wonder what else I can see around here ... another man was excited about chairs and exclaimed how they were "chairrific" and I'm just ... dear goodness, are people in the Kalos Region just terrible punmakers?
In the end, after looking through the palace ... it was actually really small!! I ran down the stairs and bursted into the courtyard ... are you serious!? I wasted $1000 to visit a shoddy small palace with no Poke Flute in sight!?!?!?
Shauna called out to me and told me that we should check the back for the Furfrou ... would I even know if I see it? Running around the courtyard was crazy ... maybe the palace should be as big as the courtyard, seriously. I heard a barking noise and a little shout. I turned and saw Shauna running after a Pokemon. "Please! Don't run away!!"
I ran to her and she told me to give her a hand to catch it. I ordered her to stay in certain spots to help capture the Furfrou. Once we finally cornered it, the man who was trying to find his Pokemon ran up to it and hugged it tightly, thanking us greatly for finding his Furfrou. He exclaimed how he'll start shooting off fireworks for us for finding his Pokemon, but neither of us had time to ask him about the flute.
Shauna grabbed my hand and and told me to head over to the balcony with her to watch the fireworks. She dragged me inside the castle and up the stairs and finally reached the balcony before the fireworks started. She took a deep breath and apologized to me. I was confused at first, but she started telling me that she was sorry for being rude to me at first because I was really close to Shun. I kind of took a hint that she liked him, but I didn't expect her to be jealous of me just because I was his sister! I told her it was okay, but she shook her head. "I'm just happy to be your friend, Lyn!"
I smiled and agreed. I asked her if she knew where my brother was, but she didn't. It looked like he ran off again, doing his own thing. I wonder where I could find him ...
My train of thought was interrupted by the man for started the fireworks for his Furfrou and then remembered we needed to talk to him about the Poke Flute. He groaned after hearing the name of the item and asked for his butler to grab the item. He started grumbling about how he was rich and taking the item as a payment for a loan by the commoner ... once the butler handed to use the Poke Flute, he started ordering us to return it after our use ... but what's the point? It's not like he needs it more than us.
Leaving the palace, I accidentally took a detour and found myself stuck in the tall grass! Accidenatlly getting myself stuck a bit, a wild Espurr was staring at me and Hiryuu, ready to attack! It charged at me, but Hiryuu quickly blocked the attack. I took out Minami and she blasted the wild Pokemon with a bubble beam! Critical hit!! The Espurr was really weak now. I quickly grabbed an empty ball in my bag and threw it! One ... two ... three! The wild Espurr was caught! Realizing I threw my only Greatball, I groaned ... but I caught the strange new Pokemon! Lorelei transferred into my box.
The tall grass wasn't just full of wild Pokemon ... it was also full of tourists!! Once Minami finally leveled up, she started glowing ... she evolved into a Marill! I hugged her little round body happily and was happy she was able to evolve ... it meant that our friendship is really high!
After a few more battles, I finally found my way out of the tall grass ... to think there's another side is almost crazy ... well, more training is good! And training sounds really good right now after a good rest!!
Day 006
Route 5 and onward!
In Route 5, I ran into a cute Pokemon named Skiddo! I first had Minami battle against it, but I didn't realize it was a grass type Pokemon until its first move! Almost freaking out, I forgot Azurill wasn't a water type Pokemon yet ... jeez, I should really try to remember this, but it's hard when a Pokemon is a different type in a new land ...
Anyways, catching the Skiddo and naming it Skip, it was transferred to my box in the health center. As I ran through some tall grass, I saw Trevor and Tierno up ahead. Trevor looked really beat about something and I asked him what was wrong. "Hordes of Pokemon are crazy ..."
"Hey Lyn! Do your Pokemon know any sweet moves? Show me in battle!" exclaimed Tierno towards me. Shocked by the sudden question to battle, I didn't even get the time to say no ... but it's not like I would say no in the first place! I sent out Spiral while Tierno showed off his Corphish! I wanted to try out the new move I got from Viola and Spiral easily infested the defending Pokemon and took it down. Great job!
Tierno congratulated me and I told him he should try out his dance moves for his Pokemon and he exclaimed he's been trying to do that. Trevor groaned and told him that there's no way that will make his Pokemon stronger, but I explained how Tierno's goal as a Pokemon trainer was to have a team of dancing Pokemon. Trevor looked at me a bit confused, but he seemed to get what I was saying ...
Route 5 is so long ... I wonder how long this road actually is. I fought several trainers already and had to run back and forth from the Pokecenter in Lumiose City several times already ... really, I was getting tired and my Pokemon seemed pretty beat. I told Hiryuu that we should take a rest, but he suddenly croaked angrily at me. I realized he wanted us to keep moving forward, but I explained to him that our other friends need their rest as well. Silence came between us, but a small chirp from my Pokeballs broke it. I took out the five Pokemon I had with me and told them that Hiryuu and I were having a discussion about resting until the next day. Aria chirped at Hiryuu, but he groaned and croaked back at my Fletchinder. I told them to not fight about it, but suddenly Luke and Linette were tugging on me. They seemed like they wanted to keep going even if they were the weakest on my team ... Hiryuu nodded, agreeing with them two.
Minami and Spiral seemed indifferent, but I asked them kindly to choose a side. Ironically, they said nothing and let Hiryuu push the rest of us through Route 5 ... I tried to explain how tired I was, but with how much my Pokemon wanted to keep moving forward, it made me want to keep going as well!
Luke evolved into a Charmeleon and my other Pokemon leveled up greatly throughout the tedious road! We finally reached the next town, but before I was able to check where we were, I hit the hay in the Pokecenter ... just gotta rest!!
