Visit Morro Bay, California - 5 Fun Things to Do
7 Must Do activities when you visit Bryce Canyon National Park
One of my favorite winery in Napa Valley is Castello di Amorosa. I took the tour of this medieval castle winery and the tour and wine was stunning. Its like going back in time. I learned a lot about Italian culture and good California wine. There are lots of wineries to visit in Napa but Castello di Amorosa should be top of the list to visit.

I visited Lassen Volcano National Park a few years ago and had a great time. Its located in northern California and is like a mini Yellowstone Park with its own Thermal Pools. Lots of great hiking and scenic views. Lots of once in a lifetime photo opportunities. Very close to Redding, California for lodging. Great place to spend the day or several days. I stayed 2 days and commuted from Redding where I stayed at the local hotel. Â

Stunning Santa Cruz of the Channel Islands. You can visit this remote island almost any day of the week. Island Packers has a ferry boat from Ventura Harbor. Plan on spending the day exploring this island. Â

Me and my two buddies exploring Channel Island - Santa Cruz. We did a day hike around the perimeter of Santa Cruz Island with breath-taking photos. We had a blast. Â

El Matador Beach in Malibu California is probably one my most favorite beach. Its located near LA in Malibu but the beach seems more like you’re at Big Sur.Â
I have more details on this beach at at https://www.explorecaliforniatoday.com/matador-attraction/
The beach is definitely rocky but absolutely beautiful. I suggest if you visit the Los Angeles area in the spring, summer or fall, you got to visit this not so popular LA beach. That is the best thing, most locals don’t even know this beach exist which gives it that remote vibe with few tourist.

Big Sur Trip
Last month, took a road trip to Big Sur with my friends. We ended up in Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park where we did some hiking and photos.
Taking a Los Angeles to Big Sur Road Trip is a journey of a lifetime. I saw incredible coastline and there are many places to stop to take photos and short day hikes.Â
I noticed that California state parks around Big Sur offer plenty of hiking trails and beautiful ocean views. Upon arriving to the Big Sur area when driving from LA to Big Sur, I encountered California State Parks in the following order: Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Andrew Molera State Park and Garrapata State Park.Â
We ended spending most of time at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. They also have a nice hotel, Big Sur Lodge but we did not stay there. It’s a nice place. Book ahead for room availability.
Big Sur California is known by several popular bridges. One of them is the Bixby Bridge which is a great place to stop and take photos. The photos you take at Big Sur California will be pictures and videos of a lifetime.
Driving from Los Angeles to Big Sur can be an adventure and a very long drive. Driving to Big Sur from Los Angeles is probably the most difficult because of the 100 mile stretch of narrow roads and constant turns along the coast between San Simeon and Big Sur. You will have to endure lots of winding turns on Highway 1 and it will take you roughly 6 hours to get to the Big Sur area. Total mileage is around 350 miles via Highway 101 and Highway 1.Â
Because of the narrow turning roads the drive can be exhausting if you attempt to make this trip in one day.Â
What I Learned - The best way to drive to Big Sur is to make several stops for rest, sightseeing and photos. Don't rush to get to Big Sur. Make the trip a fun adventure.
