As you may be able to tell, this sketch animatic took me a rather long time. Trials Of Apollo (really the whole Riordanverse) is honestly a super huge interest of mine and it always has been. Ever since I read the first Percy Jackson book I've been kinda stuck in it- maybe I'll never leave!

Anyway, I am also very interested in the history of Rome. As you can imagine, reading the Commodus section of the Historia Augusta was very fun for me. The fictional portrayal of him in ToA is also interesting in my opinion, especially because Apollo is my favorite character in PJO/HoO/ToA... or really anywhere in the series.

So yeah. I like Copollo a lot. What can I say? The fact that they are not good for each other has compelled me.

This idea for an animatic was actually inspired by a post by @/apollosgiftofprophecy! (https://www.tumblr.com/apollosgiftofprophecy/751466998199926784/apollo-commodus-be-like-they-are-very-veronica?source=share) It seemed like a good idea, so I went for it!

I ESPECIALLY love the one with Apollo in chains, that was a really emotional and climatic part of the book! I’m guessing the scars are from his skin splitting during the flaying process? Oh, and the tears are a nice touch.

The Jason Grace badge, really well done! He’s really stoic and seems fine, and then you see the arrows sticking out of him and you remember.

The Lester doodle’s great too! I guess that’s book 1 Lester? Nice touch with the sun!

Ah yes, Percy. He’s just DONE.

That communist bit was great! I really like how you made one person in the crowd have actual details, and it’s Apollo. Also, Meg’s adorable!
