#I always feel bad for sirius #wanting to parent harry #feeling like his place is being usurped by the weasleys #and yet #how much must mrs weasley remind sirius of james’s mum? #can sirius look at her and not remember the way james’s parents took him in #when he had nowhere else to go? (via picascribit)

I tend to feel like Sirius as a parent to Harry is better in theory than in practice. I mean obviously he’d be loads better than the Dursleys but on the other hand it’s unlikely Sirius has any good parenting skills and all the time in Azkaban really hasn’t left him in a stable place.

In an alternate timeline in my mind where Sirius doesn’t play hide and seek in the Veil, Harry and Sirius become good friends over time and they never really have any sort of father/son relationship. For Sirius, Harry is a connection to his dead friend more than anything else (though certainly he does care about Harry) whereas Molly really sees him as a part of her family.
