Trey Songz; Earned It remix — “her first time” ; song muse. ♚
While sitting in bed, Kingston grabbed his old iPod where he kept all of his instrumental beats stored from the desk nearby his bed. He plugged his beats headphones into the bottom of his phone placing them on his head as he scrolled through the list of beats. He came across the “Earned It” beat by The Weeknd and furrowed his eyebrows before pressing the instrumental nodding his head slowly as the beat began to play through his headphones. Using the programmed notes feature on his phone, he began to write as the beat played. Visions running through his mind of the first sexual experience he had with his girlfriend Cydney brought lyrics to his mind rapidly; she was without a doubt his muse for the remix he had begun writing and he was going to make sure the message was relayed throughout the short song. Kingston remembered everything verbatim about their first time together due to the fact that the moment was so significant. Cydney was a virgin and he was given the opportunity to be her first. All of the other girls Kingston had been with in the past were already having sex so this would be the first time he was actually able to share this type of intimacy with someone. He felt closer than ever to Cydney in this moment. As he typed the lyrics he kept replaying the moment in his head. He remembered just how eager she was to feel him inside of her depths for the first time. He also remembered the knot in his stomach that didn’t go away until they were midway through having sexual intercourse.
“You know I got just to have ya, oh yeah. I won’t let nobody, no one between us two. I’m never confused, hey hey. I cannot afford to lose you.”
He wrote as his intro, continuing to listen to the beat as more ideas poured into his mind. Kingston tapped his chin for a brief moment before getting up and making his way downstairs to his in-home studio opening up his macbook clicking on garageband transferring the instrumental to the app. After making the proper adjustments on the program, he plugged his microphone in just before setting the program to receive the correct signal. Once the microphone was set up, he plugged in his headphones and grabbed his phone pulling up the notes to read them off as he played the beat again this time pressing record on garageband. He held his phone up next to the microphone so that he could read off the words he had typed once it was time for him to sing over the track.
“You know I got just to have ya, oh yeah. I won’t let nobody, no one between us two. I’m never confused, hey hey. I cannot afford to lose you. And I know that your heart is protected, wanna be, be the one to protect it so imma care for you, you, you. Imma care for you, you, you, you, yeah. Cause girl you’re perfect, you’re always worth it, and you deserve it, the way you work it cause girl you earned it. You earned it. Girl you earned it.”
Pausing the track, Kingston played it back so that he could hear how the sound of it was coming along. Satisfied with what he heard, he dragged the beginning of the recording to the top and added a new layer playing the beat again continuing with the second verse.
“Pain mixed with pleasure and passion. Oh yeah. I hurt your heart still my love is on your mind. Wanna give you my all; all. Hey hey. But you know I’m afraid to fall. And I know that your heart is protected, wanna be, be the one to protect it. So imma care for you, you, you. Imma care for you, you, you, you, yeah. Cause girl you’re perfect, you’re always worth it, and you deserve it, the way you work it. Cause girl you earned it, Girl you earned it; yeah.”
Kingston’s first line on his second verse described their first time in so many ways. Being that it was her very first time having sex, he did cause her an extensive amount of pain but he took his time with her, he caressed her body and kissed her passionately as he slowly plunged his thick fully erect manhood inside of her tight soaked center. He kept a steady pace until he knew she was comfortable and as the pain decreased, she began to beg for more of him; which he provided without hesitation. The thoughts wrapped up in Kingston’s mind allowed him to write the song with ease and by this time both verses were done and it was finally time for Kingston to record the bridge of the song. He added a new layer on garageband and placed his headphones back on his ears listening to the slight change of the beat letting him know which part to begin singing on.
“You know that you earned for me to love ya, you know that you earned for me to do better, you know that I need for you to stay, don’t give up on me don’t walk away. You know that it’s only you I love, you know that I’d die for you girl. Don’t let me die. If you take away your love, I’d die. Don’t let me die. Cause girl you’re perfect, you’re always worth it, and you deserve it, the way you work it. Cause girl you earned it, girl you earned it; yeah.”
Once the beat faded out, Kingston stepped away from the microphone sitting down in his Apollo Mesh drafting stool editing the tracks he recorded making sure they flowed together the way he planned. After organizing the tracks and making minor adjustments he set up new tracks to merge in his ad libs as needed throughout the song. After the recording and editing process was done, he exported the media and uploaded it to his soundcloud account just before shutting his Mac down and making his way back upstairs where he posted the link to the song on all of his social media accounts with his iPhone.
