It’s heartwarming and well overdue that these 5 in particular are getting the chance to finally showcase their vocals in a way they would of never been able to do prior (and we all know why). I love how this debut feels reminiscent of LOONA, but also demonstrates what Loossemble’s identity will be. It was not only a great debut and an incredible music video, but a phenomenal album. Not a single skip. Love these girls down! Love Loossemble, love LOONA and just good ass music.

now that all the “ETA MEANS A BASQUE SEPARATIST GROUP FROM FRANCOIST SPAIN” people are definitively wrong because the official newjeans account tweeted out “ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)”, they’ve pivoted to “it was all just rage bait, noise marketing! mhj is literally satan herself, so she used this to get views!” like no dude, you’re just a gullible loser and you fell for a dumb tweet. you’re an idiot and you feel insecure about that

Please do more research before posting something so ignorant. It’s not only the ETA acronym (which seems fishy), but the relationships with the three names in the teaser, Mikel Maria and Eva. People are not hating on the girls, but the whole company and MHJ for allowing something like this without repercussions. They must pay and ask for forgiveness for playing with something so critical like the d3aths of hundreds of people in Spain and France.

i love when people who havent dont any research tell me to do more research lol. Mikel, Maria, and Eva are very common names, and most likely are the actual names of real people who are featured in the music video. it literally says “starring”. are you saying that those real people’s actual names are references to a terrorist group? they’re just names, dude. Maria is one of the most common names in the world, Eva is also very common, and Mikel, while more unique, is still one of the most common Basque names. are you saying that the fact that this Mikel person is probably Basque means it’s definitely some sort of coded reference to one of the leaders of a terrorist group? if his name was Donald, would you immediately assume it was referring to Trump?

there is no Eva that is associated with the organization by the way, at least not in such a way that would be referenced by a south korean pop group. if Newjeans was genuinely trying to reference this organization, why would they have chosen the name Eva if it was only tangentially related (if at all), or Maria (if the only connection is that it was one of the leaders’ wife’s name)? wouldnt they have gone with Mikel and the names of the other leaders of the organization? like Josu and David?

also, sure, the organization are far from perfect. they’re responsible for a lot of deaths of innocent civilians. but you have to understand, they were an anti-fascist group that was fighting against fascist spain. it’s a nuanced topic, and the group seems to have been prone to infighting and things like that, but at the end of the day, are we really going to sit here and say that the Basque people should have lied down and let themselves be wiped out by Francisco Franco’s fascist government? if you think they should have, do you think the same about Palestinians fighting against Israel? 

anyway, obviously this has nothing to do with the ETA. the name of this pop song refers to the common acronym “ETA”, meaning Estimated Time of Arrival. they literally tweeted out that it meant that. it’s a pop song about travel and seeing your friends. it was filmed in Portugal, not Spain, but apparently one of the actors must be Basque. does that make it a reference to terrorism? are all Basque people terrorists to you? also, the teaser has a car in it. does that make it a reference to car bombs? does that make it a reference to the way that the ETA assassinated Luis Carrero Blanco, an evil fascist who was handpicked to be Franco’s successor? no, it’s just a car. there are cars in the world. people drive them. and when you set out to drive somewhere, people might ask you “what’s your ETA?”

you tell me to do more research, when clearly i’ve done more research than you. you got all your information from now-deleted twitter threads by people who were born after the year 2010.
