The spoon The cotton The water Feeling like some kind of fucked up chemist as you heat it up Sucking up the liquid through the cotton Flicking the needle to get rid of the bubbles Aiming the needle into a vein Seeing the blood finally flow into the needle Feeling that disgusting pride and relief of being able to hit a vein successfully

All of that becomes just as important as finally feeling the drugs hit you within seconds. That’s why once you “graduate” to the needle, you never go back.

It’s not poetic or another challenge for you to see if you can try and beat. It’s a living hell disguised as heaven and something you want to stay far away from. If you’re thinking about trying to shoot up, please don’t. If you think you’re in hell now, believe me when I say you’ll miss when your biggest problem was smoking or snorting.
