Head-cannon:

During Splatfest, Shiver and Frye get surprised and back away when Big Man starts moving. A lot of people say it’s because they were scared of big man or because they were accidentally to close but, i have such cute headcannon *3*

Big man was the smallest in the trio when in high school! I think that, despite big man’s huge size and height, Frye and shiver forget how tall and ‘big’ big man has gotten over the years! They fail to remember that big man isn’t small anymore (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
