“I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me.”
— Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis
“You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.”
— Thich Nhat Hanh
June 15, 1927 Journals of Anais Nin 1923-1927 [volume 3]
“Focus on you. People wake up with different feelings everyday.”
— Unknown
Nothing is coincidence. Every soul you meet is written in your destiny to teach you, to heal you, or to love you.
In the end, we all just want someone who chooses us. Over everyone else, under any circumstances.
Realize that the anger you're holding onto is slowly turning you into the person who gave it you.
If you never spent another dollar on skincare, but learned to speak to yourself lovingly when you looked in the mirror, you would see great improvements in your skin, aura, and natural beauty. That is the thesis of the mind-body connection. So many women stand before the mirror and immediately start unconsciously searching for flaws. They pick apart, scrutinize, correct, put down, conceal, talk down to, or compare. If we’re honest, many women spend far more time picking themselves apart than doting upon themselves. Overtime, doing so has a real effect on our bodies. That’s because the body listens to our quietest self-talk. It hears the comments we make under our breath, the expressions we wear on our faces, and the judgments we repeat day after day. Loving self-regard creates a different internal environment and bioluminescence field around our bodies than chronic criticism and negative self-talk. It also changes the quality of our waters, causing us to feel, smell, or taste more attractive overtime. These are the things they never spoke about in our biology classes.
What we see in our faces and bodies often reflect many emotional and physical layers that can be peeled away just from talking to ourselves better. Conscious healthy, affectionate self-talk or what I call “anointing the body” is fertile ground for healthy skin and overall radiance. It softens the face, relaxes the nervous system, changes the way we carry ourselves, and influences how we are perceived by others. No expensive cleanser, toner, serum, or moisturizer can fully compensate for a relationship with one’s body that is rooted in rejection and self-hatred. Likewise, we save on skin products when we say nice things to ourselves (our cells).
In other words, sooner or later we find out that most things we need to get to that next step are free and already inside us. —India Ame’ye
A Casual Trip to Shizuoka ♪ – Part 2
At Lake Tanuki, I spent a peaceful evening watching Mount Fuji glow in the colors of the setting sun. As the sky changed moment by moment, the mountain revealed a different expression with each passing minute. Its reflection shimmering on the lake was breathtakingly beautiful. It was one of those rare and precious moments when I simply wanted to sit still and watch the scenery until the sun disappeared beyond the horizon.
Along the way, I stopped at the Asagiri Highlands, where the sight of cows leisurely grazing in the fields brought a sense of calm. The vast grasslands stretching beneath the majestic Mount Fuji created a landscape that somehow reminded me of Hokkaido, making it impossible not to pause and take it all in.
One place that exceeded all expectations was Shiraito Falls. To be honest, I hadn’t expected much before visiting, but I was pleasantly surprised. Countless delicate streams of water flowed down the curved rock face, forming what felt like a giant curtain woven by nature itself. The scene combined elegance and power in perfect harmony, and I found myself standing there, captivated for quite some time.
That evening, I stayed at a unique accommodation with its own craft brewery. Even more surprisingly, the room was equipped with a beer tap, allowing guests to enjoy freshly brewed craft beer whenever they wished. I filled a growler with my favorite brew and headed to the shore at sunset.
Listening to the gentle sound of the waves, I strolled along the beach and sat on a piece of driftwood, gazing out at the sea. Sipping craft beer while feeling the ocean breeze was an experience unlike any other. Time seemed to slow down. It wasn’t the famous attractions or extravagant experiences that made the trip special—it was these simple, unhurried moments.
Magnificent views of Mount Fuji, rich natural landscapes, delicious craft beer, and the refreshing sea breeze—this journey allowed me to fully experience the charm of Shizuoka and left me feeling completely at ease.
The scenery we encounter while traveling is certainly unforgettable. But perhaps what stays with us even longer are the moments we spend within those landscapes. 🍺🗻✨
