Boston Police report human-trafficking officers worked with State Police and the FBI on an undercover operation that led to eight men being arrested on sex-for-fee charges and one on a charge of enticement of a minor along Massachusetts Avenue near the South Bay Mall on Thursday.
Undercover Boston Police Officers were utilized to help identify exploiters, traffickers, and sex buyers. Their efforts were to help curb the exploitation within this particular area.
Eight of the men were arrested on a charge of sex for a fee, the ninth on a charge of enticement of a minor, police say. One of the men was also charged with shoplifting and trespassing. Five were from Boston, two from Shrewsbury, one from Dedham and one from Medford, police say, adding they ranged in age from 24 to 68.
Most of the men were released the next day on personal recognizance by judges at South Boston Municipal Court.
