hopeled:
she can’t say that she was surprised the moment she arrived at Sunset Circuit. a fresh, new place to explore and the very first thing anybody will ever see? a giant, golden skyscraper that was virtually impossible to ignore. Ritsuka didn’t need anything to tell her that that was her destination– no one else on the island would want to live in such a place except for the King of Heroes. it was loud and gaudy and practically screaming ‘ look at me! look at me! ‘ quite fitting for Gilgamesh. the over the top display was enough to momentarily quell her worries on just how this evening would go. and if that wasn’t enough, the statue of Enkidu certainly gave her a long moment of pause.
one of which she chose to take a picture of quickly, if only to show his Caster self later.
Ritsuka had chosen to remain silent as the attendant led her higher up. partially from nerves and partially from how much she resembled Siduri. there was an ache in her chest at the sight and for a moment, memories of Siduri’s final moments passed through her mind. ( the Lahmu. the waving of her ‘arms’ in surrender. the way she refused to attack Ritsuka and protected humans. ) of course, she’s quick to cast them away, eyes squeezing shut and a shake of her head given to get back the composure she held before. her gaze drifts to watch the waters of Moon Bay, slipping into a state of reminiscing on her time in Uruk before the elevator dinged and the doors open.
okay. showtime. a deep breath in and she follows the attendant to where the King would inevitabley be, waiting.
The attendant did not stare at the girl even if the quiet concern was clear in her gaze, she chose not to ask her out of respect. She was an honored guest after all.
Instead, a gentle smile was offered to her as they reached the last floor.
The orange light of the sunset crossed the windows of the large hall resembling a throneroom. Lacquered tiles and lapislazuli mixed with chandeliers and even a tv screen with a hidden videogame console. The room itself was a mixture of Babylonia’s greatness and modern whims (probably very similar to the incoherent amount of mixed treasures insides the infamous Gates.
Gilgamesh wanted it all, and had it all without any true order beyond his will.
A large table had been placed in the middle of the room. And two dishes and goblets. Jars with exquisite wine adorned the cerned of the room.
And there the King sat, a hand stretched as a heavily jeweled cup danced between his fingers, full with wine.
“I’ve waited long to meet you, Master of Chaldea!” The voice was imperious and lingering with a smile “But this was the right time, just as you have endured so many trials, being the NULL incident the last. And there you stand, still victorious and yet in awe before the graces of my palace! I take you were fascinated by that Enkidu below!”
