omg hi welcome back… yk i started following you in 2017 from a gorgeous portrait which i’ll never be able to find now, but the use of bright contrasting colours and exaggerated features hugely influenced the work i was doing at the time! i was in high school, i remember my art teacher didn’t like it 😭 anyway hope you’re well

how do you manage balancing work life with your art? Did you ever dream of going to art school? Or did you always know you wanted art to be separate from work?

tbh it’s hard. i don’t think i have a handle on it yet. i already don’t draw / create for months at a time so it was an ok adjustment for me but a lot of times when i actually do want to make something, im never able to find the time for it. i find that im only ever able to work on something when im neglecting something else (work, sleep, weekends, etc.) … so im still learning too LOL

i’ve always been pretty firm on not wanting to mix art and work. it didn’t seem realistic for me, and i can easily see myself being burnt out given, again, i don’t create for months at a time. to me, art should be something fun. and i know trying to make a career out of it would strain my relationship with art so i actively chose against going to school for it.

i think i landed on a good medium. i went to school for marketing instead and got lucky enough to land a marketing position, where i’m still able to be creative. my interest in art gave me leverage and put me in a unique spot within the team, as a lot of skills i learned from my hobbies surprisingly came in handy at work

if you’re asking because you want advice, i’m totally open to answering more questions :) if not thanks for asking anyway!! i enjoy these questions

mmm in terms of music i’ve been listening to a lot of random stuff. ig recently i can say i’ve been listening to french music more. peur des filles by l’imperatrice is a cute one! and comme reve sans treve by poison girl friend (has french in it lol)
