The past couple of days I've had Sean Paul's "Temperature" stuck in my head. "Well woman the way the time cold I wanna be keepin' you warm." I think it all started back when someone sang this song over that clapping bunny-costume filter on Snap Chat. "I got the right temperature to shelter you from the storm." It's relentless. So for this week’s #MusicMonday, April 3rd, I couldn’t think of a better song than Toto’s “Africa.” Dude’s talking about blessing the rains down in Africa, and though I have not experienced precipitation in Africa personally, it sounds awesome. Attention all #SXSW and #ACL festival people. Next time your in Austin, #TX be sure to make the pilgrimage to Sandy's. This classic burger joint and local staple is also home to some of my favorite ice cream in the city. Step one: pick your flavor ( I went with chocolate-vanilla swirl because I'm smart). Step two: get that cone dipped, you'll be glad you did. Step three: slam dunk that cone into a cup so you don't make a mess and can enjoy your ice cream with leisure. Welcome to the good life. #MusicMonday is late, so here’s a story. I once had a greyhound. She passed away two years ago. RIP Halle aka Big Smelly. In her latter years she would make messes in the evening while everyone was asleep. Classic dog stuff like eating out of the trashcan and eating food left on the counter. Once, she even ate an entire strawberry cake my mother made the night before my brother’s birthday. Haha. Take that younger bro. Anyway, in efforts to curb the dog’s outlaw behavior we started to kenneling her up in the evenings. Her kennel was made from tent material and was setup in the living room, so it was a lot like indoor camping for a dog. Pretty sweet setup. Anyway, if her kennel wasn’t secured with the zippers tied together Halle would manage to escape and get up to her old tricks. I always imagined this song playing while she made her escape, and think of my dog every time I hear this song. #ThinLizzy #Outlaw
Back at it again with the #BlueApron. Last week I cooked my first ever meatloaf, and topped that sucker off with glazed chipotle, homeboy. This recipe was supremely delicious, but I wish there was a a way to make a loaf without it looking like a cat biscuit. #whippininthekitchen
