alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

Nines: There are people out there who are naturally good at talking and making friends and standing normally and I think they should be systematically oppressed, even tortured.
Connor: I don't think-
Gavin: Shut up, let him cook.

Shane | Flower Dance
Shane was going to skip the Flower Dance this year. He was still in bed when Jas came in wearing her white lace dress and begged him to go. Unable to refuse her, he pulled himself up, got dressed, and walked with her and Marnie to the dance.
He did what he always did at this festival; enjoyed the free food and kept to himself. He exchanged some pleasantries with a few neighbors before Emily came running up to him, a beaming smile on her face.
"I have a request for you! You're going to say no, but I'm going to ask anyways" she said, slightly out of breath. She was excited about something.
"Go for it"
"Ask the new farmer to dance with you"
"... No."
Emily's smile didn't falter for a second.
"You should! I was talking to them just a bit ago and they expressed interest in you"
Shane frowned. He'd talked to the farmer maybe twice ever, and he hadn't really thought much of them.
"How did that even come up?" He asked skeptically.
Emily smoothed out her hair.
"To be honest, I was about to ask them myself, but they started asking about you and if you were seeing anybody. Which of course I said no. So you should ask them!"
Shane snuck a look at the farmer. They were conversing with Leah and Elliott.
All these good looking people in town, and they're asking about me?
"Yeah, uh, I don't know" he grumbled. He muttered something about needing a drink and walked away.
He was pouring a cup of salmonberry wine when the farmer caught up to him.
"I've been wanting to try my hand at making wine" They said.
Shane didn't say anything. What was he supposed to do?
"Who made that wine? Maybe I can get some tips"
"Uh, I think Pierre's wife made it" he replied.
That seemed to be the end of the conversation. The farmer turned away to get a plate of food, and Shane was left alone.
He was starting to wonder if he should've just asked the farmer to dance with him when Mayor Lewis spoke up.
"The dance is about to begin! Dancers, please pair up and get in line"
Shane sighed and finished off his wine, his eyes searching for Emily's bright blue hair in the scattering of people.
"Would you want to dance with me?"
Shane turned around and faced the farmer who was looking at him in earnest. He considered telling them that he already had a partner, but then thought better of it.
"Uh... Sure"
The farmer beamed, then grabbed his hand before he could change his mind. They led him to the field where the other young people in town were gathering. When Emily caught sight of Shane, hand in hand with the farmer, she gave him a double thumbs up and slunk to the sidelines.
He couldn't help but smile.
Scientists invented a fake disease. AI told people it was real: Nature.com
I'm a bit frightened for the time when someone less ethical than the person that did this decides to repeat the experiment but leave out the part where they come in later and announce that it was fake and people wind up diagnosed with the fake condition and all kinds of wacky hi jinks ensues.
It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!
this is actually really helpful and affirming thanks
*in tears* Thanks kitty, I needed this...

A/N: Day four with gender neutral reader!!
June Event
Contains: fluff, Shane being such a softy, just a lazy day in bed
The late morning sun of a perfect Sunday in the Valley filtered through the cheap blinds of the bedroom, painting stripes of warm light across the rumpled sheets. Outside, the world was alive with the chirping of birds and the distant hum of a tractor, but inside this small room, there was only the sound of soft, even breathing.
Shane was already awake, but he hadn't moved. He rarely did on Sundays, especially not when his partner was still curled against him. His arm, thrown possessively over their waist, held them close. He watched the gentle rise and fall of their chest, the way their face was relaxed in sleep, completely free of the worries that so often plagued his own waking hours. A year ago, a morning like this would have been unthinkable. A year ago, he would have woken up alone, the first thought in his head a dull, pounding ache for a drink he knew he shouldn't have. But things were different now. They were better.
They stirred, a soft sigh escaping their lips as they nuzzled deeper into the warmth of his side. Their hand, which had been resting limply on his chest, moved in a sleepy, unconscious gesture, their fingers tracing idle patterns over the worn fabric of his t-shirt. Shane's heart gave a familiar, painful lurch. It was a feeling he was still getting used to—a good kind of pain, like a muscle finally healing after being torn for so long.
He shifted slightly, pressing a kiss to the crown of their head, his lips lingering in their hair. The gesture was small, almost imperceptible, but it was loaded with a gratitude so profound it still sometimes left him breathless. They were here. They had stayed. They saw the broken, angry, miserable man he had been and had chosen to stay anyway.
Their eyes, still heavy with sleep, blinked open. They were hazy for a moment before focusing on his face. A sleepy, contented smile bloomed on their lips.
"Mornin'," they murmured, their voice thick and raspy with sleep.
"Mornin'," he rumbled back, his voice a low gravel. He didn't move to get up. Joja could wait. The chickens could wait. The world could wait. For now, there was only the warmth of the sun, the softness of the sheets, and the profound peace of having them right here with him.
They shifted, propping themselves up on an elbow to look at him better. Their eyes were soft, full of a warmth that never failed to make his chest feel tight. "You're staring," they whispered, their smile widening.
"Can't help it," he admitted, his voice barely audible. He reached up with his free hand, gently tucking a stray piece of hair behind their ear. "You're... nice to look at."
A faint blush colored their cheeks, and they leaned into his touch. "So are you," they replied softly, their own hand coming up to cover his, their thumb gently stroking the back of it.
He let out a soft huff of air, something between a laugh and a sigh. He'd never get used to it, the easy way they complimented him, the genuine affection in their eyes when they looked at him. He still saw the shadows, the failures, the man who had stumbled through life hurting everyone he got close to. They seemed to see only him.
"What time is it?" they asked after a moment of comfortable silence.
"Don't care," he said immediately. "It's Sunday. We're not moving."
A full, brilliant laugh escaped them, bright and carefree. "Is that so? And what if I'm hungry?"
He considered this for a moment, a mock-serious expression on his face. "Hmm. Valid point." He tightened his arm around them, rolling them both so they were lying face to face, tangled in the sheets. "I could go for some of those blueberry pancakes you make. The ones with the vanilla in 'em."
"I think that can be arranged," they said, their eyes sparkling. "But not right now."
"Good," he murmured, closing the small distance between them to press a soft, lingering kiss to their lips. It was a gentle kiss, slow and sweet, tasting of sleep and shared breath. It wasn't about passion or urgency, but about comfort and connection. It was a kiss that said, 'I'm here. We're okay. We have this.'
When they pulled apart, they rested their foreheads together, the space between them filled with a comfortable quiet. He could hear the chickens starting to make a fuss outside, a faint, distant clucking that was his usual call to action. Today, he ignored it. Today, the world could wait.
"Stay like this a little longer?" they asked, their voice a soft murmur against his lips.
"Always," he promised, his voice thick with an emotion he still struggled to name. "As long as you want."
And so they stayed, wrapped in each other's arms, a small island of tranquility in a life that had been anything but. For Shane, these lazy Sundays were more than just a pleasant break from the world; they were a lifeline, a reminder of the goodness he fought so hard to protect, and the love he never thought he'd find. It was in these quiet moments, in the simple act of just being together, that he felt the most like himself—the man he was finally learning to be.

Completely disable Copilot in Windows 11
You too can get the satisfaction of maiming or killing a spy embedded in your organization.
HELL YEAH DESHITTIFICATION!
For everything we do here, please be sure to be careful with what you edit, and restart your computer to lock things in. If you don't have access to the Group editor, (likely to happen if you're on base windows) you can do this as well by opening your Registry Editor app, then inputting this after your 'computer' or whatever the initial segment is. (Mine is computer. If I just try and paste the below string it gets SO mad at me)
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsCopilot
Navigating to your "turnoffwindowscopilot", hit modify, and set the value data to 1.
If done correctly, it'll look like this.
While we're at it, you can also get rid of the integrated search, (or that thing where it searches the web when you search anything, whether or not you want it to) and such through regedit as well.
Integrated search will have you going to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
Navigate to your "DisableSearchBoxSuggestions" bit, if you don't see it, you can make it by right clicking and creating a new registry D-Word key of that exact name. Edit the key, set it to 1. It'll look like this if you do it right!
To get rid of Windows Spotlight, (The thing where it pulls up ten billion pages on windows start page, shoving ads in your face and cluttering everything) we go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DesktopSpotlight\Settings
And set "Enabled State" To 0. If you do it right, it'll look like this!
Disabling edge on startup will also help a fair deal with processing speed and the like. This you can do in all sorts of ways, the easiest being turning it off entirely on startup through settings in the like.
If you want to kill it *entirely*, though? :)
In regedit, run along to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
Navigate to your MicrosoftEdge key subcategory. If you don't see it, you can make one! Note, this is a KEY, not a d-word. *inside* that subcategory, we want to either make or find the D-Word key of PreventLaunchEdge and set that to 1 in the same way as all the others. It'll look like this.
Aaaand while we're here, I'd HIGHLY recommend shanking Killer Networking Services. It's just bloatware. (Ostensibly it's supposed to monitor your network bandwidth and even things out, but that really means it's constantly monitoring and pinging things, which eats up the bandwidth you DO get, and also chunks your computer's processing power.) Getting rid of it entirely is borderline impossible, since it's set to redownload on regular updates and intel is very pushy with its updates.
This you can do by opening your Services.msc, which basically shows you all the background stuff that Windows does. Find Anything with Killer in the name, right click it, go to properties, and disable startup. It should look like this, if done successfully. It will probably reenable itself in time/in later updates for windows, but it's a quick fix. I'd also check your TaskScheduler app to make sure that nothing's scheduled to open up there, either.
If you CAN completely kill Killer services through uninstalling and the like, I would warn that at very least for my computer, the only ethernet/lan support applications that are available ARE Killer's. When you download updates, you really do have to do it manually and ONLY download the ethernet services, or just be cool with not having Lan functionality.
One last thing, not a shit application but is a shit service. If your computer's constantly overheating or just warm, you likely have Turboboost enabled. (Default setting that you can't change) If you want to be able to turn it off and drop your temps by like 40 degrees, in Regedit go to
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\54533251-82be-4824-96c1-47b60b740d00\be337238-0d82-4146-a960-4f3749d470c7
(Note- This isn't the string copy paste from the reddit thread, this is mine that does the same thing. If my string doesn't work for you, check the reddit thread string. If that doesn't work either, you can follow the path and find it pretty easily. Probably has like, one letter of difference somewhere. The bits all start the same, though, so it's easy to find.)
and go to "attributes". Set the value from 1 to 2, and now in your advanced Power Plan settings in control panel, you'll be able to *see* turbo boost and turn it off.
It'll look like this, and in power options, a successful disabling of boost should look like this.
Turning off quick startup's also a good call, since that basically stops your restarts from actually shutting things down properly.
GOOD LUCK OUT THERE YALL. MAKE SURE TO CLEAN YOUR PC!
