Hey there, guys! I’ve taken a long break from designing but now I’m back with a Redbubble shop and will regularly upload designs on it. I hope you check it out!
Mom, I’m scared. As I was standing there, in a party, my head seemed to float away. I’m now headless, mom.
This gif shows a solar eclipse as viewed from a plane. I thought this was beautiful.
It truly is
This is amazing
why does using someone’s name in conversation feel so intimate, like the way a touch feels gentle as someone is fixing ur hair or brushing out a stray strand
someone: *uses my name to address me* me: oh my God, i am a physical entity… …..

oh god the good old days
did I ever tell you guys how I lost the most overtly religious friend I’ve ever had because she insisted I was hellbound over a pair of jeans
apparently not by your reactions SO let’s talk about emily
emily was catholic and found it really, really important that you knew that
she was discrete for the most part (sign of the cross before meals and blushing when the lord’s name was said in vain sorts of things) but she had a habit of berating people for politely declining her invitations to her church services and was sort of a pain in the ass about it at times but that’s beside the point
we were friends for about two and a half years
and then she borrowed a pair of my jeans.
now these jeans
were not just any pair of jeans
they were lucky brand jeans and the nicest jeans I owned at the time, but I was always cool with letting people borrow things when they really needed them
so this fateful day rolls around and emily is freaking out because she tore her skirt (as in straight up the back, mortifyingly torn) while we were out for coffee waiting for her other friend to pick her up because she was going on a weekend trip with this other friend’s (even more religious) family and her only other option was a pair of starchy pants that would absolutely suck to sit comfortably in for a five hour drive
so I do what any good friend would do and give her the extra pair of jeans I have in my car
which are my luckys
now I didn’t think anything of it and just assumed I’d done a great service here right
but flash forward three days
and she comes back
and doesn’t say
anything
just hands me the jeans
pivots
and walks away
so naturally I’m like??????????
so she proceeds to send me a text the next day saying that I made her look horrible to her friend’s mom because she nicely offered to wash the jeans before returning them and that’s right around the time I remember that Lucky brand jeans have a lovely little note on the fly
they look like this
and then you unzip them and
so that’s the story of how my catholic friend stopped talking to me because I accidentally tainted her social life with my subtle sexual vicious trollop jeans
That is both terrible, and absolutely fucking hilarious
why the hell did I just read that
““Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear that the two of you, on some level belong together. As lovers, or as friends, or as family, or as something entirely different. You just work, whether you understand one another or you’re in love or you’re partners in crime. You meet these people throughout your life, out of nowhere, under the strangest circumstances, and they help you feel alive. I don’t know if that makes me believe in coincidence, or fate, or sheer blind luck, but it definitely makes me believe in something.”

Book Hype
For the most part, I really enjoy book hype. There’s something really beautiful about a bunch of book nerds freaking out on the internet over their shared love of a book or series. Everybody just goes nuts, it’s all over your dash, and usually, there’s an abundance of caps lock. It’s a good time with a lot of community fun as more and more people pick it up and join the party!
But what if you don’t like the book? Or even worse, hate it? All of a sudden, this book that makes you feel cringe-y and a bit teeth grind-y is all over your dash, all up in your face, and you cannot figure out why people like it so much?? Is something in the water or what!?
We’ve all been there. That one super popular book you just feel sort of aggressive about, like why did it even achieve this much hype? It can be really annoying. Unbearable annoying, like you can’t get away from it because it’s everywhere! It’s even worse if the book has problematic issues and no one’s talking about it (this sometimes drives me bonkers).
I’m usually pretty good at guessing if I’ll like a book, and don’t pick up hyped books I don’t think I’ll like, no matter how the fans cheer. This tends to keep me impartial and prevents me from being annoyed. But even I fail sometimes and I’ll occasionally spend good time and money reading a book that ultimately just leaves me feeling cranky. What I try to remember, as this book is every other post I see that day, is that it’s still bringing the community together. Do I hate it? Maybe. Is it annoying the piss out of me? Totally likely. But is it making other people happy, introducing a shared love, and getting people pumped about books? Usually, and that’s what’s important.
We’re all on booklr because of a passion for books that goes a little above and beyond the normal casual reader. We’re here to share our love of books, discuss favorites, theories, post a ridiculous amount of photos, and use cap locks a disproportionate amount. Even if you don’t like the book or even really, really despise it, remember that it’s making a lot of people happy and getting them excited about reading all over again. I think that’s really beautiful, that no matter how many books we read, we get so excited over a good one that swept us off our feet and straight into our imaginations. So next time the book hype is driving you mad, take a deep breath, and remember that the craze will pass and a new book hype will take its place to annoy you all over again! (;

A silly idea based on the TMNT splatfest that has been sitting inside my mind since last week.
