"Blasted Weather people don’t deserve a day of celebration! They should all be ashamed of themselves! Fooling me each day! Ruining my expensive suits! CURSES ON THEM ALL!"
"I just advise you to be careful, Doctor. Those faceless individuals have incredible power and they could do just about anything to you. In fact, it is probably best to leave them be." Even though he was an assassin, he would still be outnumbered by those things. All they could do really was bear with it and just hope that they would eventually grow bored of them again.
"I suppose so... It's just so hard to control my temper when I remember what they're done to me in the past." Sometimes he needed to be reminded of just how powerful they were.
"…….." A low chuckle came from the assassin. When the other got worked up, it was always amusing to him.
"...Oh well... Maybe someday I can get a hold of one of them..." He seemed to have calmed down a little when the other man chuckled at him. Did Shelly find it funny that he had got so riled up?
B*Witched-Blame It On The Weatherman
"You do? I should have known that you would figure it out, Mr. Turner. After all, you are a doctor, one with a clever mind." There was never any knowing as to what those individuals would come up with. If were to kill someone needlessly, it would be unsettling to the assassin. That went against his very principles. If it ended up being Turner, it would be hard for him to know how to react. He was the only one whom he could trust with Alexis.
"That's not the reason... those pranksters messed with me before too! When I finally get a hold of whoever did it i'll wring their little neck!"
It was clear that Turner wanted an answer from him. This was the second time he had asked that question, so it would only be natural not to ignore him again. With his usual emotionless face, Shelly broke his silence, looking over at the other with those dark eyes that were difficult to read. “Hm? Yes, I am fine…please do not pay what just happened any mind.”
It looked like he wasn't going to get an explanation. Since Shelly told him to not pay it any mind he figured it might have been that sort of thing. Those people who often played pranks on other's. He smirked to himself imagining what would happen if one of those people slipped up and Shelly got him. "I see, alright then, De Killer." He took off his glasses and cleaned at them with a handkerchief he killed from his chest pocket. "I believe I understand what happened anyway."
Only a few moments passed until the assassin let the other man go. Being that close had meant that he had felt the other freeze beneath him in much the same manner that he had whilst giving the hug. Turner was scared of him. Even though he hadn’t once threatened to harm Turner and had even trusted him with information that he had never provided anyone else, the other was still scared. It was only natural due to being who he was. Everyone was scared of him. Would Alexis be scared of him too once she knew who he was? She probably would….
Even though Turner was intimidated by Shelly he wasn't too scared of the other. If he was truly scared of him he wouldn't keep coming around and chatting with him. Only time would tell what Alexis would think. She'd probably end up being like Shelly however. She wasn't a normal child after all.
Shelly had stopped hugging him finally. His body grew less tense and he pushed up his glasses. Shelly hadn't even said anything about it which left him even more confused. If the other were to tell him it was the work of the anons he'd be far less confused.
"...Are you feeling alright, De Killer?"
"I believe that they did. I am safe for now. However, I doubt this brief moment of pause will last long." Due to the way Shelly was, he would make sure that he would be the only one to fall if he were caught. He would lie, like he usually did to cover for any who helped him, so that they could continue to live their lives.
It was then that the urge to hug the other flared up. Just when he had thought his days experiencing the wrath of the faceless individuals was over. His body tensed even more, his fingers twitching a little. He couldn’t let himself do it again.
It all happened too fast for him to comprehend. Arms wrapped themselves around Turner with ease, his chest pressing against the other man’s. He inwardly groaned at himself for letting them both get into a situation like this.
"Well that's good... hopefully no one saw me carting your body off that day." Turner had only helped the other to keep Mimi at bay anyway. With an assassin on his side there was no chance she'd try to kill him again. He thought so at least. He had even threatened her with the presence of the other man.
When the assassin moved closer to him and held him in that way Turner froze up and drops of sweat forming on his face. Clearly he was confused and feeling scared now. It wasn't everyday a known killer randomly gave you a hug.
What the hell is going on?
"Ah... a-are you alright, De Killer...?"
"You are correct. Providing too much information on my end would most certainly lead to my unfortunate end." Ever since Alexis had entered his life, it added more pressure onto his shoulders. If he were to perish, what would happen to her? She was still young. Only few people knew that she was in his care. Turner was one of these people. He was certain that he could trust the other man in getting her to a safe place if anything were to happen.
"So, did those people ever lose your trail or what? I wonder if they still think you're dead or not." Turner was slightly worried because if the police ever found out he had helped an assassin he'd be in some deep trouble.
Shelly was correct in thinking that. Turner might be an asshole but he wouldn't just leave a baby to die. He had chose to save lives after all.
"…." Shelly was fully aware as to what this man had done for him. Even now he had still not given away his position to the police. He certainly was trustworthy so far, so perhaps he was being too cold? Having a friend was still an odd concept for him to adapt to. He was so used to keeping people as far away from him as possible. ”It is a habit.” The only reason he would ever kill Turner was if he were to ever betray him. Shelly took betrayal very seriously. It was one of his key factors for breaking a contract with a client.
Turner wasn't the friendliest of people so he didn't have many friends either. He complained and got angry often and that kept some people from getting any closer to him. "I suppose with your line of work saying few words is for the best."
"…Alexis is still a small child, Doctor Turner. She may want to follow in my footsteps, but she may also want to have her own life. I want her to make that decision when she is old enough. It is only fair, no?" It seemed like Shelly, despite being the assassin he was, was considerate of Alexis’s feelings. He wouldn’t force her in any way to take on the same life he had lead. It was a hard life.
"You certainly don't make it easy to have a conversation with you, do you?" The doctor nervously pushed his glasses up. He felt like he was stepping around thin ice with the other. No actually sometimes it felt more like land mines. He had helped the assassin escape the cops once but he wasn't sure if this guy would turn on him or not. "Well... either way, it's good that you put her feelings first." If it had been Turner there would have been no way he'd take in an orphan. No. He was much too busy for that.
"….." Shelly pressed his lips together, eyelids slowly closing to how they once were. It was clear that Turner had said something in which upset the assassin. ”The DeKiller line has ended with myself. I never bared my own child. Yes, I have Alexis. However, she is not a true DeKiller by blood.”
"...Ahem.. ah.." Shelly was too unpredictable to talk to sometimes. especially with Turner's bad habit of getting riled up and running his mouth. "So you plan to end the line with yourself?" Perhaps having that child around had changed his future plans.
"….What I plan to do with her is not really your business, Doctor Turner." At this point his eyes were now open, looking directly towards Turner. "I never planned on teaching anyone my skill in the past…"
"I think you've misunderstood me. I know it's none of my business but I can't help but worry some about her health." The doctor froze slightly when the other started looking at him in such a way. It was really difficult to be friends with an assassin. He was easily frightened by this man sometimes. "I thought you sort of people passed down your skills, was I wrong?"
"…..Is that so?" Slowly, he polished his monocle. "You are correct in your details, I am not one experienced with children. Neither are first time parents, no?”
"I suppose you're right..." Turner's eyes moved to watch the assassin clean at his monocle. "I'm curious, why did you keep her anyway? Are you going to train her to be an assassin too?"
How's that child doing?
Upon seeing the familiar face of his old friend, Shelly did not seem to change his usual expressionless face at all. “Ah, Doctor Turner. Long time no see.” He simply tilted his head. “Alexis? Ah, you remember her. She’s grown a lot, like children do.”
"It's not like I doubt your abilities but I wanted to check up on her. You don't have very much experience with children, correct?"
and its an excuse to talk
