inei took up demon slaying due to a bloodlust that he couldn’t contain,  and fighting demons was a way to suffice this anger rather than killing humans

he killed his father after his mother died,  and fled,  leaving both of them to look as if they’d died from disease

he was aware that no one knew that the couple had a child,  and he took advantage of that and spent his time practicing his swordsmanship with sticks in the woods

he formed a offset of the mist breathing practice,  rightly named dream breathing.  his sword skills are rather rough,  but his ability to seemingly hypnotize and confuse demons helps him land better blows.

he’s still as manipulative and egotistical as ever,  and absolutely worships the ground ubuyashiki walks on.

he subsequently caused the death of a few slayers during final selection,  but made it look like a mere demon attack.  he never ended up regretting this,  because it got him exactly where he wanted to be.

he doesn’t really hold an ounce of understanding for most emotions,  and simply shows what he feels like he needs to.  this eventually changes when he starts to better understand his emotions,  but in the beginning,  it’s rough for him.

he feels like he deserves to be a high - ranked hashira,  because he was so let down in his life that he feels like God / the Gods owe him something.

he still feels as if he’s a healer,  but rather one that heals demons of the ailment of lacking humanity,  but he also thinks the offer to become a demon is an incredibly tempting one.

                                STUCK IN A DREAM  /  actor verse.

INEI TAKEUSHI was a rather imaginative child,  always further entrenched in his mind than in the world around him.  being neglected heavily by his parents,  who pursued their own interests much more than their son’s,  inei began to look for attention and admiration in other places.

such a spindly,  wide - eyed boy stood out in his small village,  and he soon found some small jobs here and there,  where his knack for creation was appreciated.  finding himself working in local theatres doing set and costume design,  he ended up auditioning and finding that he was a natural at the task,  leading him to bask in the praise he got from his acting.

when he got the call for kimetsu no yaiba,  or demon slayer,  he was overjoyed.  it would be his first television debut,  and he knew that his parents would have to praise him for this achievement.  his part was minor,  but the money was worth it,  and he was more than willing to fill in extra parts if the producers requested.

to be fair,  he would do anything to be in the spotlight.  all of the attention it brought was something he couldn’t get enough of,  and when mugen train begins filming,  he knows his stardom is just on the horizon.  he just has to chase his dreams,  or rather,  his reality.

inei is the type that paparazzi and magazines love to gossip about because he is just?  so touchy and affectionate with the co - stars that allow him to be like this to them,  so they’re always theorizing what actor he might be dating.  in reality,  he just loves this job and the people he works with.

he has two bags that he always brings to set,  one full of his clothes and other stuff he thinks are filming day necessities and another full of things he brings for castmates,  like their favorite snacks and little gifts!

sometimes,  inei comes to set on his non - filming days just to hang out and cheer on his castmates.  he loves the whole process of making cinema and wants to be there for all of it,  even if he isn’t involved.

inei is one that goes all out with his acting!  he’d rather be told to tone it down than to bring it up.  yes,  this means he DOES get h-rnier on main sometimes.

his background in live theatre makes him a theatre kid.  he is a musical theatre kid.  change my mind,  you can’t.

he constantly flirts with co - stars,  mostly as a joke because magazines eat it up,  but also because he works with very attractive actors and he’s not afraid to be blunt.

A SMILE BREAKS ACROSS THE SAME LIPS,  corners turning up as his tongue rolls over  -  a nervous tic  -  accompanied by the color of heat creeping onto his cheeks.  The words don’t break the silence easily,  it almost feels like it would be better if he was quiet,  if he took the compliment with noiseless gratitude.  His blood beats in his ears,  and when the words find themselves he can’t even hear them.

THERE’S NO PLACE FOR A LOWER MOON  in the heart of an upper moon.  The reality that Enmu lives is continuously strained,  so he lives far from a true existence,  a dream,  a world where he watches himself from afar.  It’s better that way,  isn’t it?  Better if he feigns the distance between their emotions,  and if he embraces what he wishes was going on,  indulges in his fantasy instead of acknowledging what he feels.  After all,  all of this is merely spurred by physical desire  -  nothing else is to come of them.

PATHETIC EYES MEET THE COLORS OF DESIRE,  eyes that were one of a kind,  just like the one who owned them.  A demon so beyond the others around him,  one that truly lived a life worth enjoying,  a demon who Enmu wanted nothing more than to be.  His body seems to whine,  magnetized to the heat of physical touch  -  it was below a kizuki to be so needy.  A hand reaches forward and falls on the upper moon’s chest gingerly.  He feels so small below Douma,  but maybe that’s exactly what he wants.

          “  I’m sure you know that I can be here anytime.  It is far more than a pleasure  -  an honor,  even.  You know I’m good for much more than just this.  ”

rbig ol thread of korekiyo shinguji headcanons / backstory stuff bc there is never enough of them for me to be satisfied with:

they / them pronouns; they don’t really understand their identity but no that neither femme pronouns nor masc pronouns feel right

they don’t really define their gender or sexuality with terms if they can avoid it, because they believe that these concepts are so fluid across different cultures that you cannot truly put a label on them

they’re a therapy journaler. it was a habit they picked up when their sister died, so they could release some of their feelings without having to share them with anyone.

they like touching people, but don’t like touch being reciprocated. they don’t mind close friends touching them, but it takes a while to get to that point.

despite their relationship trauma, they are very sentimental. hopeless romantic, even. they enjoy romance literature and music, despite the fact that it feels very distant for them to experience themselves.

they really enjoy the romantic goth aesthetic, very much going for timeless vampire chic. 

they have a hard time telling what aspects of themselves are truly them and what are their sisters influence, but they know a number of things they feel drawn to that weren’t ever introduced by sister.

these include: goth music, vkei music, painting (though they aren’t very good at it), classic horror films, ghost / spirit / demon depictions throughout the world, and the dark academia aesthetic

the things they still indulge in that their sister introduced them to was their love for anthropology/folklore, gothic literature, romance novels, sewing, and fashion

korekiyo is a wine enjoyer- and honestly? a bit of a elitist about it. secretly they drink cheap, basic wine though- but in public it’s all fancy names.

their sister pushed them to be very formal, very collected, but they are actually very easy to fall apart, they just hide it by leaving situations when they feel as if it is coming on

they don’t ever feel truly angry, or at least can’t remember the last time they have, instead they just seem mildly annoyed and offer vague threats to those who truly get under their skin

they’ve picked up a large number of hobbies through their travels, including a number of different instruments, vocal techniques, and crafts

their favorite craft they’ve picked up was shibari and other forms of rope practice

they know a number of different languages due to their frequent travels, considering themselves somewhat of a polyglot

they really enjoy reading (this is just canon) but especially read a lot because they suffer from insomnia, reading helps fill the time

some korekiyo backstory headcanons / info below the cut:

massive tws for child abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, inc*st, etc. 

due to a pattern of abuse korekiyo suffered at the hands of his sister and other family members, they developed dissociative identity disorder, which led to their sister taking on a role as a persecutory/interject alter. they had a few other alters as well, but they’ve since been working through therapy to integrate these alters.

korekiyo’s mother died during childbirth, and their sister was 11 at the time of their birth.

their father was often travelling, therefore leaving them home alone with each other when miyadera turned 13, believing they were capable of taking care of themselves.

they were homeschooled due to the frequent travels of their family, and the fear that with low immune systems running in the family, the children would get sick.

miyadera falls ill with the same ailment of their mother when korekiyo turns 5, and she turns 16. age 6 and 17 respectively is where a lot of the grooming begins, as miyadera tries to shape them into exactly what she wants them to be (specifically what she’s always wanted as a friend and partner).

korekiyo’s father doesn’t return from one of his trips when the siblings are 8 and 19 respectively. miyadera, despite her illness, takes on the role of head of the household and expects 8 year old korekiyo to take care of her.

miyadera’s abuse began with emotional abuse, often calling korekiyo useless, annoying, etc. when they weren’t behaving in a way that pleased her, and then moving on to physical and then sexual abuse when korekiyo turned 12-13.

they went to therapy at age 16, a year after their sister died (when she was 26). they realized to be able to successfully go about their studies, they needed more than just themselves. it took a while to get the help they needed, but they eventually went and it has helped immensely.

this being said, their trauma isn’t something that heals fast. obviously, they had to relearn a lot about love and relationships, and who they truly are. despite this being incredibly hard, they work very diligently to succeed.

hypersexuality is a coping mechanism for them, note that it is not inherently positive or negative, it simply is the way they went about dealing with their se/xual abuse. they often feel inclined to start physical relationships and end up feeling very guilty after.

                         002.  LOVE ME, LOVE ME ;  MORE THAN YOU POSSIBLY CAN.

                                                                PRE  -  DEMON  ;  HUMAN VERSE.

KŌKOTSU WAS KNOWN AS  naoyuki  (  meaning truth and happiness  )  miyake  (  meaning three houses  )  when he was a human,  a notably troubled boy.  despite having a very good home life,  naoyuki struggled with his own mental battles.  naoyuki’s key developmental years were spent without many friends,  his morbid interests often scaring off probable bonds.  he enjoyed taxidermy,  a practice that his father,  as a butcher,  didn’t quite mind indulging him in.  naoyuki was allowed to bring home weird findings to taxidermize,  such as two  -  headed chickens or a calf with two pupils.  these strange items often scared his mother,  but she simply ignored the practice,  building him a shed out back to practice and store his works in.

HIS TEENAGE YEARS  were when naoyuki began to branch out,  noting that his interests scared his peers and opting to create an entirely new persona in order to attract friendships.  the task had been a success,  and though he was by no means popular,  naoyuki had amassed a good group of friends from his involvement in local events.  naoyuki was notably close with a girl named utano,  the girl who lived next door to his family.  though they were a year apart,  they spent a number of days together.  at a point,  utano had expressed her feelings for naoyuki,  only to be turned down,  leaving a large gap in their once close relationship.

NAOYUKI ONLY HAD INTEREST IN  a boy named hotaru who lived about five houses down,  who’d just moved in to pursue an apprenticeship of swordsmithing.  hotaru took his job as a swordsmith’s apprentice incredibly seriously,  and was particularly unsociable.  hotaru was the same age as him,  and naoyuki made a strong effort to befriend the boy.  the efforts mostly failed,  only worming his way into hotaru’s personal life on one or two occasions.  on one occasion,  hotaru had invited naoyuki to his house to complete a task,  and he took this to his full advantage.  for the few minutes that naoyuki was left in hotaru’s room alone as he used the restroom,  he took a number of small items from the room,  most notably some clothing items and an unfinished sword.

NAOYUKI HID A LOT  from all of the people around him,  his dark interests,  his sexuality,  and the fact that he didn’t quite feel much anymore.  maybe he had never felt anything at all,  but he was sure of one thing,  and that was that he felt nothing but love for hotaru.  though they didn’t interact often,  naoyuki knew nothing would be complete without the boy being his.  though,  suspicions quickly arose.

WHAT BEGAN AS INTEREST  plummeted into obsession,  and naoyuki’s friends began to distance themselves as hotaru began to become the only thing he would talk about.  his free time was consumed tracking the others every move,  and even when hotaru had moved to a swordsmith village,  naoyuki had followed.  over the years,  he’d amassed a number of items that hotaru had touched  ;  empty wrappers,  chewed gum,  even pieces of clothing,  and that unfinished sword that he held close by his side,  day by day.

KŌKOTSU WAS TRANSFORMED  quite a number of years ago,  now having lived about 63 years as a demon.  through the years,  he’s resisted joining the twelve kizuki,  instead preferring to help on the sidelines here and there,  but primarily indulging himself in eating and taking treasures of those he’s killed.  he claimed a space of his own,  a now run  -  down cemetery long forgotten in the woods,  complete with a large mausoleum in the middle in which he now resides.

HIS TRANSFORMATION BEGAN  with the meeting of a dark haired demon who called himself muzan,  a king amongst creatures.  for once,  his human form felt true fear,  a chill creeping down his spine as he begged to be spared,  as he had to finally get to the one he loved before he died.  interested in his intent,  muzan struck a deal with the human,  agreeing to turn him into a demon and allow him to turn this  “loved one”  so they would be together,  as long as they aided muzan in his efforts to rid the world of the hashira,  and discovered the blue spider lily.  naoyuki obliged wholeheartedly,  and suffered the transformation from human to demon to finally be with his love,  forever.

THE SECOND HE BECAME CONCIOUS  once more,  he was in a daze,  only faint memories of someone he knew he needed to find and a ravenous hunger overtaking him.  the demon,  fatefully named kōkotsu escaped from the sun into some dark woods,  finding the cemetery and taking refuge in the mausoleum overnight.  the daylight hours were spent with kōkotsu ravaging the tombs,  removing leftover items and using them as decoration for the walls inside and out of the place of rest.  he’d found countless treasured items,  keeping them for himself and using the three tombs inside the mausoleum as a place to store the items he didn’t now wear.  

NIGHT FALLS UPON THE VILLAGE  again,  and kōkotsu sets out onto the path he’d travelled thousands of times before,  following it to the home of hotaru,  the boy that naoyuki had fallen in love with years prior.  he knew the boy was alone,  and snuck into the house with ease,  finding the boy sleeping soundly and crawling atop of him,  covering the mouth of the human before he’d have a chance to scream.  the demon offered a smile,  one that was vile and unforgiving.  words escaped his lips with no remorse,  and the smell of the human he loved filled the room so graciously. 

“  WE’RE FINALLY GOING TO BE TOGETHER.  CAN YOU BELIEVE IT  ?  JUST YOU AND                           ME,  FOREVER.  AND NO ONE WILL TAKE THIS FROM US.  ”

KŌKOTSU WAS ENRAPTURED  by the taste of his beloved as he bit deep into the shoulder of the boy,  feeling teeth in his skin as the boy tried with no avail to escape the demon.  originally intending to just turn the human into a creature of his own,  kōkotsu’s hunger took him over,  and he ripped the chunk from the shoulder he bit into,  pulling his hand from the humans mouth and watching the shock of being eaten alive.  the demon no longer cared,  because his beloved would now be a part of him forever,  and no one would take that from him.

HIS HUNGER NEVER FADED,  and he wore the teeth of his favorite meals around his neck like a prize as he continued to gather trophies from every notable kill demons would make,  even aside from himself.  he’d eaten hundreds,  and never once did he regret it,  as he spent his life lounging and enjoying himself and his glutton.  his weapon of choice was one of his own making,  a whip formed from a number of spinal cords he’d pulled together with wire,  thunderously cracking as he hit the bones of demon slayers,  bringing them to their knees instantly.  his tattoos covered his body,  a representation of his own bone structure that he prided as being exceptionally beautiful,  and fused with the bones of hotaru,  whose bones he kept in the tomb he slept in.

THE  LETTER  SEEMS  TO  GLIDE  across the  glazed  surface  of  his  desk  ,  eyes  falling  upon  it  as  calmly  as  he  can  keep  himself  before  the  words  set  in  .  he  blinks  ,  tearing  ice  blue  eyes  away  from  the  letter  viciously  .  the  smile  that  so  rarely  appears  on  claude’s  lips  sickens  him  ,  the butterflies  that  frolicked  in  his  stomach  turning  to  bile  .  he  feels  himself  shaking  ,  throat  tightening  painfully  as  it  has  many  times  before  .  crying  is  pathetic  ,  his  weakness  is  pathetic  ,  he  is  pathetic  .  once  again  he  reaches  for  something  he’ll  never  be  able  to  grasp  ,  coming  back  with  empty  fingers  and  a  once  again  shattered  heart  .  alois  finds  himself  bitterly  swiping  at  the  wetness  in  his  eyes  ,  already  beginning  their  transformation  to  a  raw  redness  ,  hands  slamming  against  the  desk  with  fervor  .  outgrown  nails  threaten  to  dig  into  the  wood  beneath  them  ,  the  claws  of  a  creature  small  but  vicious  .

TIME  AND  TIME  AGAIN  he’s  begged  for  claude  to  stay  ,  to  protect  him  ,  to  love  him  even  ,  receiving  that  same  careless  stare  .  he  finds  his  way  around  the  counter  ,  once  again  dropping  to  his  knees  in  front  of  his  butler  .  he  doesn’t  care  if  he  looks  pathetic  or  if  his  begging  doesn’t  work  (  not  as  if  it  ever  did  )  ,  he  just  cares  to  get  a  reaction  .  body  wracked  with  sobs  as  he  presses  his  forehead  to  the  front  of  carefully  shined  shoes  ,  a  gesture  so  close  to  worship  you’d  think  claude  was  holy  to  him  .

he doesn’t think he’s ever felt as comfortable as he does when he’s with the other  ,  warmth engulfing his body  &  caressing his soul in a way that was never done by anyone else before  .  he worships hinata for this  ,  making him feel so fiercely  ,  making him adore the feeling of being loved  &  treasured  ,  making him something other than numb  &  bitter  &  exhausted  .  cold fingers explore the dip in the brunet’s spine  &  he feels a shiver creep up his own at the phrase spilling from hinata’s lips  ,  relinquishing his overwhelming fondness as the voice of an angel seeps into his ears  ,  tears welling in the corners of his eyes  .   komaeda curses himself for this  ,  for being so sensitive  &  breakable  ,  &  for praying for this kind of attention for years  .  his desperation disgusted him  ,  twisting in his guts  ,  the feeling of nausea constantly nipping at his heels  .  he pulls himself closer to hinata  ,  closer  ,  closer  -  but he can never be close enough for his content  .  the euphoria makes him breathless  ,  head lolling back  ,  an invitation for hinata to claim the empty space as his own  ,  to leave the smallest memento on porcelain skin  .  eyelashes flutter closed over grey eyes  ,  eyelids reflecting a view of heaven  .  they’ve been doing this for a while now  ,  private moments that entail much more than komaeda could even find himself believing  ,  yet he still has trouble reciprocating the physical affections  .  his heartbeat pounds in his ears as his trembling fingertips reach for the other’s cheek  ,  lips pressing against the section between hinata’s shoulder  &  neck  .  in these moments everything feels right in the world  ,  no matter what goes wrong  .
