I think with ozempic what really sets it apart on a marketing level is it’s the first weight loss medication or treatment to really say “we believe you, you’re not fat because you suck and have no willpower you’re fat because you’re genetically inferior but we can fix that now!” and they’re saying this to people who have probably been told since the age of maybe 6 or 7 that having cellulite made them spiritually feeble and morally evil. You can’t reasonably counter that kind of approach by saying “but I love fat butches though” like you need a disability informed approach that actively challenges any notions of health as tied to morality in any way. My father and I have fallen on bad times. He's disabled, I'm transgender, and we're consistently behind on rent. Our lease renewal is coming up and if we can't get things sorted I don't know what's gonna happen. I'm gonna keep trying to find other ways to make it work, but employment is hell considering the 6% unemployment rate and me being a young, generally skilless transfem. Any help I can get would be worth a mile.
