nah you cant tell me i watched the entire anime and picked up the manga from where it left off and it still took me until chapter 35 to realise, only because someone's comment, that hes got one eye

On the one hand, anthropomorphizing any animal comes with risks, especially in the case of arthropods, whose cognition took such a vastly different evolutionary pathway than ours. On the other hand, in the year 2026 we are combatting anti-wasp propaganda with cutesy pro-wasp propaganda like we did for bees man this is getting ridiculous. Look at her!!!

So anyway this is a yellow-legged mud dauber, a type of solitary (read: less aggressive) wasp that allowed me to start getting over my own wasp fear years ago. They look so dutiful scraping up mud to build their nurseries and I like to imagine they're proud of their dirt as they fly away with it <3

Asking this here so there's an actual chance of people having recommendations; but does anyone know of any comic/graphic novels from roughly these parts of the world:

The US, Europe, and East Asia all tend to have pretty notable comic industries but I want to see how people from other parts of the world approach the genre. Any genre is welcome so long as it is available in English.

Ok so I plan on probably coming back here to give people my thoughts on all of the books people recommend (that I could get my hands on) but this one was so good that I feel the need to shout it out on its own so it doesn't get reduced to 1 bullet point in a list.

Shubeik Lubeik is one of the best books I've read in quite a while. Each of the stories in this book are so full of just... raw emotion that it's hard to quite get across in a review. It's the kind of writing that you have to experience to see just how great it is. Any fan of good literature, especially graphic novels as an art form, MUST read this book.

Please do yourself a favor and read this book. While I imagine I will also enjoy most if not all of the other recommendations I plan on reading, I simply do not expect any of them to be anywhere close to as good as this book.
