“Y-yes, very much so.” What was she to do now? What else was there to even say in a situation like this? If she didn’t act fast, things really would get awkward. 

“Uhm.. d-do you have any free time? We could uh.. go for a walk somewhere?”

X kept an eye on his datapad as Aerin did the standard exercises, nodding in response.

“That’s understandable, actually. I assumed you’d be feeling off due to the reconstruction.”

There was a tiny smile on X’s face as he looked fully at Aerin. He wanted to actually hug his son, but he didn’t want to cause some kind of sensory issue by accident before Aerin got used to everything.

“Swing your legs over the side and try to stand, please. Don’t hesitate to sit down if you feel dizzy or otherwise unable to. We’re almost done with the tests, I promise.”

“Mhm.” He nodded and watched as X did his work, the tiny smile was also acknowledged. X seemed so tired.. was he going to be okay?

He’ll ask once the tests are done.

“Hey uh, do you want me to keep my arms raised while I get up? Because then I’d just be T-posing, and I’m not sure if either of us would be comfortable with that.” He mostly meant to say that as a joke, but there was some seriousness in his question.

“No, really. Do I have to do that?”

This has weirdly taken me awhile to write and it’s not because I have nothing to say, it’s more that I don’t know where to start. The two of us didn’t entirely get along at first, which was just because I can be Loud and a Steamroller and you felt I hated you, and I’m super happy that we! worked that out!

You, as a person, are incredibly sweet. You’re so easy to talk to, you seem to genuinely love my thoughts and ideas (and, as I’ve said on discord, I’m a Slut for positive reinforcement so uh hella), and you always seem up to listening to me ranting and raving about things that are currently making me, uh…

… annoyed.

Plus we like streamed shit for a couple of hours and watched that shitty Mummy movie together and the Pitch Perfect movies and that bonds you like nothing else.

I! really want to do more with you RP-wise, and we’re totally talking and plotting about it and I am! excited. I want Satori and Hanako to really hit it off and grow together, I want Zero to endlessly test and frustrate Leana, I want Nikki to be a ball of hyperactive ADD energy that sweeps Leana off her feet, I want Tomoe to deal with the death of her third (fourth? lkjhasdasd) father and to be overjoyed when he’s brought back, I want Roll to be the bridge that helps the other Light (and Wily w/ Shadow and Forte) bots understand that Zero isn’t a monster- There’s a ton we’ve talked about and I know it’s so easy to feel these ideas just get brought up and then forgotten but I! am that weirdo that Doesn’t Forget… and I love them all and I love you and I want it all to happen because you deserve to have your characters be as important as you are.

And holy shit I got super gay while being sober. What the fuck.

“Ahaha, I see. I must’ve heard wrong then.” A beat. “I’m sure you’re good at it, if you’re X’s kid.”

Sure, human genetics didn’t really apply to reploids, but the sentiment was there nonetheless.

Nebula’s comment earned her a flustered Aerin in response. His cheeks now dusted red. He knew human genetics didn’t apply to him (or rather reploids in general), but it was still nice to hear. Embarrassing, but nice.

“Oh. Uhm.. thank you. I really wasn’t expecting to hear that.”

It wasn’t a secret that X and Zero had kids; in fact, it was very well known by almost everyone on base, and Nebula was no exception. She’d never interacted with any of them, but she figured she would eventually.

This would apparently be that time.

She recognized the unit walking beside her as one of their boys–was it Eren? No, it was spelled differently…

“Aerin, right?” She asked, putting on a smile. “I’m Nebula, a navigator. I hear you want to be a Hunter?”

His attention had been caught by the stranger walking beside him. A glance being given during her self introduction. Her information wasn’t exactly correct. Him, a hunter? It was already clear he wasn’t good enough, and he’d already devoted himself to engineering. 

It was the one thing he was good at.

“Yeah, that’s me. But uh, not really. i’m already an engineer.”

Quick credit before we dive deep into this. This is with @iiregularhunter and @xfactxr‘s monster verse.

The twins were actually built for combat in this verse.

Aerin was the second reploid built by Rolland Bardot. The first being Rebecca, but due to her being too “normal / weak” in his eyes (and because she was loosely based off of X’s plans), Rolland had stolen Zero’s plans and used them to build Aerin. So Aerin has the vampire like functions that Zero has. He is also very unstable and destructive. 

After discovering what he’d created, Rolland abandoned Aerin and left him to fend for himself.

Tomoe was the third and final reploid built by Rolland. Because Aerin was such a failure, he decided to build Tomoe using X’s plans. Except this time, he looked more closely at them and found the hidden program known as SupportWolf_Jazz.exe. He immediately changed the name of the program to SupportWolf_Chiptune.exe. At least he got the music reference.

Tomoe was built for the soul purpose of seeing how the support wolf program works. This was activated when Rolland deliberately put her into a life or death situation. 

Shortly after this event, Tomoe ran away from home.
