Rock sents out a private text message to Xavier. 'Hey Xav, Has someone asked you about the Stardroids? I have a feeling that something is going to happen.'

Xavier absently rubbed at his chest while checking his messages, tilting his head as he put his spade to the side to focus on answering.

'Not recently. But if you've got a bad feeling, then I'll keep an eye out.'

Xavier wiped his face clean of soil with his sleeve, he had just finished planting a brand new fruit tree in the backyard and was very happy with the sapling.

He absently rubbed at his chest, looking up at the clear, blue sky.

Bathed by a warm ray of light, a gilded sculpture in the image of a knight stood immobile. Or at least it was until it felt something or someone approach.

What could now be identified as some sort of automaton came to life, drawing its scissor blades. Rather than attack however, it crossed them before its chest and lowered its head in a solemn bow to one it recognized as of a higher consciousness than it was.

There was complete silence as the automaton did...something. At least that's what one would assume, it did not seem to move at all from its respectful bow. The stillness in the air was broken up only by the soft clicking of its cogwork mechanisms. Suddenly, it spoke once again in the same robotic and slightly broken voice.

(⚙️) - ❝ You are free of the Haunt-t-ting, pure is your will. Yet a mystery to this s-s-sentinel, you are still. ❞

Finding these small caves after getting thrown into a new world was quite fascinating to the part-time archeologist. Crawling through them when he deemed them to be not a cave-in risk, not so much.

Finally finding something on the other hand? Xavier was a bit excited! He saw the small, bug-like figure kchunk into a bow, blinking as he was abruptly reminded of Dr. Cain's old toy collection.

"Oh! Uh..."

He didn't know what the Haunting was, but he was glad he was free of it if it would spare him getting jabbed in the face with sharp objects.

"Is Sentinel your name? Mine is Xavier. I, uh, didn't mean to end up here?"

He wasn't gonna push if the other didn't want him to, but Xavier was worried. He had seen how the younger boy had hobbled and his medical officer side immediately rose to the surface.

Joking to ignore the stabbing sensation in his side was, of course, a given.

X's reaction was to immediately grab Rock's hand and hoist him on his back, blasting out of the doorway as fast as his dash boots would take him, cutting corners by swinging around them.

He was going as fast as he could, but he didn't know if it would be too late.

X has had both more and less uncooperative patients but it never fails to test him whenever he has to restrain one. Getting schmeared with coolant was just another job hazard.

Curly would note after having to go through this "strange place". Who would've thought she'd run into a guy in peril- Actually that made total sense with how hostile the machines were around here! She's just glad she made it in time to save his bacon!

It wasn't often that X got caught entirely off-guard and cornered, but most of those times ended up going pretty badly. Much like right now, X thought as coolant dripped down his face from underneath his helmet.

He spat out some coolant onto the pavement and looked up at the person who saved him. X was vaguely reminded of Alia for a moment before shaking his head to clear it.

"It's alright, I'll live and heal."

X smiles a little bit to try to reassure her he'll be okay. It's probably not a very nice-looking smile with the popped coolant line under his helmet making a mess of his face, but he's trying.

Thank god for helpful store employees that went above and beyond. Xavier was able to find not only the right nail polish color, but the dye color so he could touch up the vibrant red in his hair when it started fading.

He still didn't remember actually getting either, but he liked the colors and so they would stay.

"I- Okay fine, it's not like my old dormmates remember this anyway."

"So I was a little adventurous in college, trying to get five masters and a doctorate, and my old dormmates suggested a nearby club to help me relax after I had four exams in three straight days.

What they didn't tell me is that it wasn't a normal dance club, and I kinda did have a fun time. What wasn't fun was coming back at 4 am and remembering two minutes after I got in the door that I had an exam that day too.

My dormmates remembered the same second I did. We were all kind of half-dead for that exam, but we somehow all passed."
